Article Pokemon The Movie 2016 ~*UPDATED*~

Howdy ho howdy hey! I know it's been awhile since you've heard from me, but I got some juicy news for you regarding next year's movie!

There was a special showing of Hoopa and the Clash of Ages yesterday, and at the end of the movie, there was a trailer for next year's movie! So far, all that is known about the 2016 movie is that it will come out in Summer, and that it will feature Zygarde. This comes from second-hand information reported to Serebii by people who say they attended the showing, but Serebii says that the sources were able to prove they attended the showing.

Not much else is known about this movie, however, I can make a few theories based on what we know of Zygarde and the patterns of the Pokémon franchise in general.

So far, X and Y fits the Trio mold established since generation 3. We have a pair of games that features two opposing entities, with a third major legendary who seems to be related to them. If the trend continues, then we will either get a third version or direct sequels that features this third legendary being either just as powerful as the two we first met, such as Giratina in D/P/P, or being even MORE powerful/the leader of the trio, like pretty much every other third legendary in a trio.

Given how Zygarde has an ability that directly counters Xerneas and Yveltal, but is inferior to them by type, I imagine that it will be in a role similar to Kyurem, where it'll have a secret unlock able power that will make it stronger than the other two.

Now, onto the part that is relevant to the movie. I Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, we saw Xerneas revert into its tree form, while Yveltal flies free. My hope is that we will have a human villain, a true villain and not an anti-hero, who will try to capture Yveltal and harness its power to control/destroy the world, and Zygarde will have to step in to stop it since Xerneas is unavailable to combat it. My guess is that Zygarde will take this opportunity to showcase a previously unseen power, hopefully not a Mega Evolution because Gen 6 Pokémon REALLY don't need one yet Diancie, and use it to curb stomp the villain.

One thing is for certain though, and that is that a 2016 movie IS coming, and you can bet that I will be on top of it and bring you every tidbit that hits the web as it comes in.

UPDATE: CoroCoro scans have shown some new screencaps from the movie coming in 2016 depicting a mysterious figure. There is no information about what this figure is, but there are rumors that it could be a new forme for Zygarde. I've included the scan of the screencaps below so that if you haven't seen them already, you can determine for yourself what this strange new figure is.
