Is it me, or have you seen Blaziken pop up a lot in your Pokémon games recently? Don't worry, you're not going delusional. Yes, the 6'3 Blaze Pokémon is already popular due to it being a starter, but there are more cameos than usual lately.
If you look at recent events, ever since Blaziken got a mega, Blaziken's got more popularity. For those that didn't know, Blaziken will be available In Pokken Fighters in August, as confirmed by Bandai Namco. Pokken fighters is out in Japan as of now, but it will receive a update which has this playable character. Here's Blazekin's trailer for Pokken.

As for other games, there's a new event in Pokémon Shuffle that features this Pokémon in its mega form! Yes, Mega Blaziken is available from July 20th till the 27th, so shufflers, hopefully you can get it in time! There isn't much detail on this event, but for those that have played it, the stage is about a minute long, and you have to get as high of a score as you possibly can. You can get the mega-stone without Blaziken, which is sort of useless without it. As of yet, there is no Charizard event in Pokken Shuffle as of yet, which makes this the first Fire-Starter Mega to hit Shuffle's doors.

What are your thoughts on the Pokémon Blaziken? Have you used it in your Hoenn adventures, now and back in the day? Can it be more popular than Charizard one day, or is this just a phase? If not, will there be another starter that can beat Charizard's popularity?

Blaziken may be a bit too overhyped for what it's worth, but to be honest, I like him a lot too. My favorite Gen III starters is still Swampert, and he'll always stay that. but that doesn't mean I don't like Blaziken! Solid design, a unique typing (at the time it came out of course), and a really good addition for your team!

As for Blaziken appearing in Pokken, well, it makes sense. It's a fighting type Pokémon, and it has a good build for a character in a fighting game. I don't know much about Shuffle, because I've never played it myself, so I won't say anything about that.

Will Blaziken ever beat Charizard in popularity? Nah. Charizard will, for many people, always be the first starter they ever had, and that nostalgia will always win it from never, perhaps higher quality starters. What I really would like to see it for a starter that isn't fire type to gain as much popularity as Blaziken or Charizard, which hasn't happened until Greninja now. Perhaps we'll once see an insanely popular grass starter?

I think the reason Blaziken is so popular is because it was the FIRST Fire/Fighting Starter, and people resented Infernape for taking that away from it and outclassing it. Blaziken was a novelty in Gen 3, and we didn't get to fully enjoy it because the Physical/Special split wasn't until Gen 4, but it was too late because Infernape meant no one in their right mind would ever use Blaziken. And then Emboar rubbed salt in the wound by being ANOTHER Fire/Fighting, though thankfully a worse one.

When Blaziken was given Speed Boost, and then a Mega, it made people happy because we could finally use it in the way we wanted it to. It's sort of like the popularity behind Charizard. Was Charizard any good competitively? No, not really, but it was the ORIGINAL fire starter, and people wanted to use it, therefore, mega evolution. Same thing with Blaziken, it was the original Fire/Fighting, therefore it has a special place in many people's hearts.

Blaziken is my second favorite Pokémon for a lot of reasons. One, its a fire type which is my favorite type. Secondly, it was the very first starter I ever traveled around with in my first game, Sapphire. Third, he looks freakin' awesome!

I think it's good that Blaziken gets all this attention again. I mean, he kinda got outclassed by Infernape and Emboar due to both of them being Fire/Fighting-types.
Blaziken is not on my favourite Pokémon-list, but I do think he deserves it. His Mega is awesome, after all! :D
