Article Pokken Tournament is announced for the West!

Early Yesterday, Nintendo filed a trademark in Europe for Pokken tournament, and many speculated that it would be announced for the west sooner or later. (Of course, there was a small location test last month, to even support the theory.) But, not even 24 hours later, Pokémon announced in the Pokémon world championships that Pokken Tournament will be available to the world in Spring 2016!

There's a new trailer for the game, which instead of arcade systems, like in Japan, is now available for the Wii U! This trailer shows about the same things we've seen in the other trailers, so nothing's a huge surprise. The only thing that is a surprise is a new character, 'Pikachu Libre' a Pikachu in a Lucha Libre costume, the same costume cosplay Pikachu has when in the toughness division. At the end of the trailer it shows Pikachu doing a back flip, something similar to a finish move in wrestler matches.

The Pokémon world championship in Boston will have a Pokken tournament today, in the game's arcade form. For those who would like to see this tournament, the Pokken tournament starts at 10 EST today.

Well, better go buy a Wii U. I said if it came to the Wii U, I'd buy one for that reason. I'm really excited for this game; I can't wait to play it!

I'm really glad western audiences are going to get this! I personally don't have a Wii u, but I might have to consider it between this and splatoon. This looks just awesome, and I'm sure it'll be great on the Wii U!

I knew this day was coming, it just took too long for it to come!
I've already got a Wii U, so I'm psyched to finally be able to purchase a Pokémon Wii U game, as I had all the Pokémon games that were for the Wii (Pokémon Battle Revolution, PokePark and PokePark 2, My Pokémon Ranch and the original Pokémon Rumble), plus this game looks totally amazing and Lucario's in it, so what's not to love? XD

YESSSSSSSSSSS I knew that nintendo would release at least a Pokémon game for wii U. After battle revolution I was really wondering when nintendo would release another Pokémon game that 3d ish with battles. Thank arceus I got a wii U for my birthday. I can't wait~!

I'm actually disappointed with the choice of Pikachu Libre. The obvious better choice would have been the lucha libre Pokémon itself, hawlucha. I love hawlucha, so having a second pikachu instead of this amazingly designed Pokémon (he could mix speed, flight and lucha libre moves) is a slap in the face to later Pokémon generations. Besides from the mega evolutions and the assist Pokémon, no Pokémon from generations 5 or 6 were included as playable fighters in this game, despite many that would be so cool in the game (zoroark, hawlucha, throh/sawk, pangoro). Other than that, this game is a god-send for the Wii U and I am very excited to try it, hopefully they utilize DLC to add more worthy Pokémon fighters to the roster, similar to what has happened to Smash Brothers.
