"Wonder Trade is a feature introduced in Pokémon X and Y that allows players to randomly trade with another player using the feature. Wonder Trade is accessed from the first menu of the Player Search System. Players send out their own Pokémon, the system searches for a Wonder Trade partner, then trades the Pokémon."

Hey folks, I don't know about you, but I thought Wonder Trade was an amazing feature. It let players connect to each other globally and really share the joys of Pokémon. However, as time went on, Wonder Trade slowly became a feature flooded with breeding rejects, Route 2 Pokémon, and the occasional shinies and legendaries.

What did you guys think of the Wonder Trade feature? Do you use it? What do you like and dislike about the feature? What are some of your best and worst Wonder Trade experiences? Share your thoughts and as always, feel free to discuss!

I think that Wonder Trade being filled with breeding rejects is one of the great things about it. It means if you're ever looking for Pokémon for competitive teams, you can get a good start. I got a Buneary that only had Hp missing while giving away my Scraggy rejects, and a Ferroseed with some decent IVs as well. I do hate people who trade off Route 2 Pokémon... Those guys suck.

I likewise loved all the breeding rejects, I would fill boxes with the good ones and save them in case I later wanted to train one of that Pokémon. Then I would only have to breed on 1 more IV or something, change a nature, add an egg move. Way better than starting from scratch. It was a lot of fun seeing what random stuff did show up. My favorites were a lvl 100 stunfisk that I received, with perfect IVs in special attack and a quiet nature. It had a competitive moveset... as far as competitive stunfisk goes. I also got a 6IV shiny lvl 100 shaymin. Obviously hacked of course, but shaymin being my second favorite Pokémon ever meant I love the thing. I must say I was pretty shocked when that thing came in.

Wonder trade is one of my favorite things about the Pokémon series lately. Yeah, first route pokes suck on Wonder Trade. How many Zigzagoons and Wurmples have I gotten while giving away my breeding rejects (which in my case is only Nature-based)? Too many, that's how many. Still, I keep every single trade that comes to me. I don't want to be the next unwilling foster-parent playing hot-potato with an unwanted child that's already been to several dozen homes, you see.

    Kind of like this. http://kotaku.com/aww-the-pokemon-we-wonder-trade-have-it-rough-1491773117

When I had not got XY yet I thought it was the bee's knees but the it just got painfully slow. If they could have a speed up button I would really like the Idea of that. It jst doesn't work for me. But yeah, breeding rejects are cool. I keep all of those babies ^_^

I'm trying to have just one of each Pokémon (with a few exceptions), so wonder trade is a great way for me to swap out doubles for the chance of getting a Pokémon I didn't have before!

I really like Wondertrade because it gives me the opportunity to get good Pokémon to breed or train up. Sure the Zizagoons and Wurmples are annoying but if I get good Pokémon then it's all worth it.

I really enjoy wonder trading for the most part, usually I get a decent breed reject that I can use in wonderlockes since I play that form of locke a lot. Imo is one of the best features they've added in a long time, sure is random what you get and you can get up with a really crappy wild caught Pokémon or even the same kind you traded away lol. But that's not really an issue unless you do a wonderlocke you can just send the Pokémon back into the trade or just release it.

I think that Wonder Trade is better for getting Pokémon than the GTS for obtaining Pokémon. Sure, you don't know what you're gonna get until you get it, but I've had over half of my National Pokédex filled by Wonder Trading. Then there's the social media phenomenon of Wonder Trade Wednesday, which allows people to get 'mons that aren't just those damn Route 2 Pokémon, although it also increases the chance of it, so it's sort of a win/lose situation anyway. but I've gotten tons of Pokémon i've used for breeding through Wonder Trade, so I see it as a great resource!

Wonder Trade is pretty neat! It's been a great way for me to to release all my breeding rejects that I don't advertise here, haha. That makes me sound heartless...

I usually just Wonder Trade to get rid of my rejects and be nice to whoever receives them. I like to try to WT on Wednesdays so that a bunch of other people are releasing good stuff too, to lessen down on the Route 2 stuff, haha. Gotten a few nice hacked Pokémon and some breeding fodder from WT, so I really like it. :D

I actally do enjoy the wonder trade, as you can send off breeding rejects and see if other players need them. But, what I hate about it is how some players don't use it correctly. Some just go out into the wild, catch a level 2 Pokémon and send it into wonder trade. How is that helping!? It'll probably float around wonder trade until someone takes it and dicsards it so please, use the wonder trade correctly.

I use wonder trade but in general I hardly get anything good from it. Most of the time I just use it to give something decent to a random person. I've never received a shiny or legendary but I have recieved some cool foreign Pokémon like my favorite korean rotom which I used in the pikachu tournament to kick some serious butt. I mean arming the guy with trick and a choice scarf on top of will-o-wisp was GENIOUS!

usually just use Wonder Trade to trade away my rejects in my shiny hunts, who are usually fairly decent. Only a couple times have I got really cool things back, such as a lvl 100 Entei, but my biggest gripe is the lack of nicknames, that's what keeps me from wanting to do a wonderlocke the most, I really enjoy the nickname aspect of the games, and having Pokémon that can't get a new one is annoying. Usually I just collect all the route 2 fodder, and trash it, releasing these Pokémon from their obvious wonder trade prison. and I never re trade. If I don't want it, there's very little reason anyone else would, so why waste my time.

TBH, the idea of Wonder Trading is great, but there are just too many people who trade away their crap. Then again, everyone could've seen this coming. Then again, it's pretty great to trade away your own crap and receive something good in return.
Let's just say I love Wonder Trade, but only when I get good stuff. I do think the amount of Poochyenas and Zigzagoons and stuff has decreased, so I'm much happier with it now than I was about two years ago. It's funny to see people who participate in things like Wonder Trade Wednesday send you their good stuff ^^

Wonder Trade is pretty nice for filling up the Pokédex, and you can get some pretty interesting stuff in there You can also get crap things but we don't talk about that , all in all I think it was a pretty cool feature

    There was this one time I got the Scyther one of my internet friends had sent to a Japanese guy on WT a few days earlier. I still have it, it's one of my favorite things that's ever happened to me in a Pokémon game. Usually I just trade breed rejects, so it doesn't bother me too much if I get a Scatterbug every now and again. There's people who trade cool stuff too, like Pokémon in special Pokeballs or rare Pokémon that help with the Dex. It probably would've taken me quite a while longer to complete if it wasn't for WT ;;

I really liked Wonder Trade, I got a perfect IV Rioulu from it. Personally though, I found a lot more useless Pokémon like level 3 Magikarp being sent over when I send over 3-4IV breedjects but that's part of the deal I guess. It's nice though, to be able to randomly connect with someone somewhere else and trade with them!

This is basically my view on it. I thought it was really neat for a long time, but then it just became lack-luster when all I'd get is Wurmple :(

Even still, the idea that you'd never know what you would receive is like the ultimate form of Pokémon gambling.
