From the patriot Pikachu mascot, to the thousands of people-millions at home watching, and many tears from the contestants that lost in the 3 day period, the Pokémon World Championships have come to a close in Boston. To be exact, 5 thousand people from 36 countries were in person, either watching the competition, or at the shops buying amazing Pokémon merchandise, and 1.5 million watching through the stream.
For those who haven't seen patriot Pikachu, this year's mascot it was due to the championships location in Boston, MA. Doesn't it look cute?

(For now, we won't get so dark and grim, with the alleged shooting from those 2 people in Iowa, but we'll talk about that in a future article.) As you know, there was a kickstarter campaign, To be the very best a while back, the man who started the event, Wolfe Glick was participating in the events as well. [X]
The only major Pokémon announcements regarding games, we heard at worlds that Pokken tournament is going to be released on the Wii U! [X] At Boston, they also had a Pokken tournament just for fun, in its original arcade format.
There are tons of amazing prizes for those that make it to the top, for example in the TCG tournament, the first-place prize in the world championship is $25,000 in scholarship money, and the winning deck is published and printed for retail sale with an autograph on each card. Other prizes include additional scholarship money and prize cards made exclusively for the tournament.
There are 3 categories per tournament, Junior Division Senior Division, and Masters. Juniors are for people who were born in 2002 or later, and as for seniors, they must have been born between the years of 1998-2001. As for Masters, they qualify if they were born in 1997, or even earlier! Congratulations to all of the winners, as they truly deserve the title, 'The Very Best.'

I was actually at worlds this year. It was a lot of fun to be around a bunch of Pokémon nerds for 3 days. I got to play in some side events, try out Pokken Tournament, buy some good worlds goods, and watch some great matches! If you get the chance to go you totally should sometime.

I would also like to point out that next Worlds will be in San Francisco.

I managed to catch the live streaming for the final day, still a little mad at myself for missing the first days but at least I was able to go total poké nuts over the finals.

I wish I could attend the next one but that's not likely to happen since that'll cost plenty of money.
