It's been a while since the Pokémon championships at Boston happened, and the alleged gun plot at the tournament, so I decided to write this article a bit later to make sure that everyone was calm talking about it, as we were all very outraged about this.
(For those who want to read the re-cap of the positive side of the Pokémon Championships, you can find that article here: [X])
    So, let's get started.
There was a private page called 'Mayhem Pokémon Crew' on Facebook where the two talked about the plan, and when one person then told the Pokémon Championships, and banned them from that group. In their response of being banned from that group, James Stumbo and Kevin Norton said, "Oh, ok, that's fine then I will just shoot him on Friday, thanks." [X]
The two drove 25 hours from Iowa to Boston. These two were planning on shooting the Pokémon Championships, and when Boston did check their car, which wasn't that far from where the event was being held at their hotel, they found tons of firearms and knives. Both of them are being charged with unlawful possession of several firearms.

According to the Pokémon Company, they said this in a statement after the two were arrested.
"Prior to the event this weekend, our community of players made us aware of a security issue. We gathered information and gave it as soon as possible to the authorities at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center who acted swiftly and spearheaded communication with the Boston Police Department. Due to quick action, the potential threat was resolved." [X]

Both police and the Pokémon Company International thanked the quick action of finding them, if not the tournament could have been a nightmare. They are currently being held without bail and they will wait for their trial, which will be at least 4 months. These two criminals had no prior criminal history before they were arrested.
    ---
If you were one of the two, why would you attempt to shoot at a convention like this? Since they are currently being held without bail, what do you think their punishment will be when it comes to trial in about 3-4 months? Do you think that there will be more attempts like this in the future?

It still was never confirmed what their actual intentions and motives were in terms of bringing the weapons to the world championship, we can only assume with how much weaponry and ammunition they brought with them, they had intentions of doing something massive.

I can't really say anything on this, I want to say these guys should face charges, a ban from any form of Pokémon events, and some jail time.

This is a tough call, this is honestly a question you can't really say no. Attempts like this occur in all forms of media, so who knows, there are many sick people out there who will pop up in the most unexpected place.
