Not going to bother with formalities; a new Pokémon has been leaked in this month's issue of CoroCoro!

Absolutely nothing is know about it currently except for it's Japanese name, which is マギアナ (Ma-gi-a-na).

EDIT: Magiana's identification has been revealed as the Man-Made Pokémon. It is said to have a big role in the upcoming Pokémon movie, which also features the newly revealed Volcanion. A main part of the plot is that Volcanion knows Magiana's secrets.

I saw that on Serebii and PokeBeach this morning... Apparently, according to Serebii, it was made by human hands thousands of years ago and Volcanion wants something to do with it. All I can say is... GEN 7 CONFIRMED. What typing would you think this thing would be?
    EDIT:

    This is the actual picture.

It sounds like magic, or magician, it must be something humans tried to make some mystic Pokémon and this is what came I suppose, the story is obviously quite blurry.

Magic? It's species is "Artificial", and it's pursued by Volcanion who seems to be mechanically inclined, especially as far as steam-powered industry is concerned. What if mag is magnet instead of magic?

I'm wondering if this might be part of Nintendo easing itself into a new way of containing secret Pokémon, like how everyone on serebii knew about Arceus long before Nintendo wanted it to be out. This way, if they start holding these Pokémon as (hopefully free) updates, then the secret is kept. Even if/when the game data is cracked open, there won't be a hint of these secret Pokémon until a pre-update update sets up framework for it (like the box icons for Hoopa were leaked).

I like its design! It almost looks like a Diancie fused with a Klink. I'm definitely interested to see whether it will be in a possible XY Sequel/Remake game, or in a new generation altogether. Either way, I'm ecstatic that we finally have some new Pokémon news- I'm hoping for more in the coming months!

OMG I LOVE IT ALREADY, it's seriously too cute :3 Its features remind me a lot of a Pokéball (look at its lower body and chest), so maybe we might have another manmade Pokémon like the Magnemite evolution line or the Grimer line? Given it got leaked in next month's CoroCoro, but wasn't discovered in the code on either of the Gen 6 games, I think it's not a wild guess that Magiana may the first Pokémon of Gen 7. In an interview last year some guy from TPC said Pokken wasn't the biggest thing for Pokémon and unless they were referring to Pokémon GO, that probably meant the introduction of a new generation was coming. Gen 6 got announced at around the same time in 2013 and Zoroark (the first known Gen 5 Pokémon) was leaked in a similar way. I wouldn't be surprised to see an announcement for a Pokémon Direct on the 27th soon, because Pokémon can't keep us waiting much longer now. I think the Gen 7 announcement is nearly upon us >_>

I'm going to assume at this point that this Pokémon is with Generation 6, as Ash is in the photo in his Generation 6 clothing, but I could be wrong. I would like to think that Pokémon Z is coming soon, but at this rate, GameFreak hasn't done jack. I think that there is legitimately a good chance that after the Volcanion movie, we advance right into Generation 7. Think about it. Ash is plenty far in the anime to be a weeks away from the Pokémon League, they haven't announced anything concerning main stream games for over a year after ORAS came out, and there of course is this Pokémon. I'm not sure at this point, GF is doing some weird crap, and I just wanna see where this goes.

    Speculation time.
Gen 6.5 not a new region, it will be a Pokémon Z but as has been hinted in X and Y there will be an addition to the map, much like B2W2. My thoughts are that it would be a bit larger though. Magiana will be a new Pokémon along with the zygarde forms, and possibly a handful of new pokmon families. Magiana is created by an ancient race to attempt to copy diancie. I don't know. I picture a reformed Team flare, led by a cyborg Lysandre, and maybe even some like cyborg Pokémon as grunt Pokémon that aren't wild but can be obtained by other means. In the end Zygarde plays his role, and you get a baby one, and Lysandre disappears once again. I don't know, just the ramblings of my mind.

I absolutely adore this Pokémon already, I want 10 of them. I'm too hype to the point that it's only the first day and I've arted it:
But I'm excited to see this new mon, and what sort of place it has. I'm not gonna say whether I believe it's gen 6/7 tho, I don't really care which gen it is so long as I see a new Pokémon game soon. But I would love to know its typing, how it battles, its personality, so on so on. I'm really excited for all this!

My anticipation is a steel/fairy but stranger things have happened. I wouldn't be surprised at steel/electric or steel/ghost on it. One thing that was brought to my attention by a few members was its resemblence to a Pokéball, which is an intriguing thought but kinda makes sense if it's manmade. Maybe it has some major role similar to a Pokéball? Like it seals away a great power or something? I dunno, just throwing out ideas haha, but yeah, this is pretty hypable.

    Hype anyone?

First I'd just like to say... NO GENERATION 7 GET OFF THE HYPE TRAIN AND BOARD THE GEN6.5 TRAIN

I have reasoning too, don't worry.

Lets just think for a moment... volcanion is coded into the gen6 games, isn't he? Would Nintendo really include him in a gen6 game but not release him until gen7. Not unless the games are going to be compatible with each other, which they most definitely will not be. Look and X and Y versus ORAS, they didn't allow some megas and the primals to cross over from one game to the other. So there's no reason for volcanion to be included in gen6 unless he was going to be released in, you guessed it, gen6. Also, lets not forget zygarde. His forms have been revealed, he's in the X Y and Z anime, and his TCG cards are being released in Japan this month of all his forms. In... an X and Y set. Again, nintendo wouldn't create forms of a gen6 legendary to be a part of a generation 7 game. There's just too many loose ends floating around in X and Y for them to jump straight to gen7. I'm more curious to see if gen7 comes out on 3ds or on the NX, depending on how portable the NX is. For now, I'm quite confident Magiana will stay in generation 6 with volcanion and zygarde.

Magiana tho! I'm scared that it'll be another steel/fairy (I hate fairies) but it looks cool at least. A 500 year old Pokémon doesn't have much time significance yet (AZ was 3000 years ago) but that doesn't mean its movie won't be awesome. I'm really curious to see how it plays out, being mechanical, and volcanion, the steam Pokémon, also seeming capable of powering some sort of ancient factory. Designwise... I see the features of klink, diancie, a cherish ball, mega gardevoir, buneary, and rotom. Some features being more prominent than others, but this Pokémon is so weird to me. Its unique, but only unique in the sense that every body part seems like it was stolen off something else.

Thank the goddess someone realised this. I am not lying down and expecting Pokémon Picross to be Gen VI's game representation of 10% and Complete Zygarde. I refuse to believe for a second that this is the case.

I actually really like @[member="Zero Sifr"]'s theory about it being magnetized instead of magic. Think about it: there's three unexplored power plant areas in Kalos. Volcanion represents steam power, maybe Magiana represents magnetic propulsion? If that's true, we could be looking at a third legend coming up too, representing another form of power. Maybe wind or solar? o.o

In any case, I'm mostly excited because this means Gen 6.5 is getting closer! I'm closer to getting my hexagon snake baby to perfect form :D

I'm going to point out that Magiana doesn't have anything to do with how it's English pronunciation sounds, that's not it's English name, and therefore should be looked at from it's Japanese name. I have little room to talk, since I haven't researched this myself, but I will use the reputable source of JWittz, who is through in his research, and he said it was related more to mechanical. On that note though I do like the point brought up about the different power plants in Kalos and the fact that Volcanion represents Steam. perhaps Volcanion will become part of a power trio all with man made origins and symbolizing the control of electricity by man, along with Magiana

It's highly likely that this will be it's English name as well, seeing as every legendary (excluding the Kanto bird trio) shares a name between most languages of the game. In addition, Pokémon who appeared in movies before their releases who weren't legendaries, specifically Lucario, Zorua and Zoroark, kept their Japanese names. Although the names aren't identical, like Serebii to Celebi or Sheimi to Shaymin, we can assume that it will be ver similar. An example I've thought of is Magearna, which has nearly the same pronunciation as Magiana (Mah-gee-ah-nah), but emphasises the word "gear" to reflect on it's design.

As Ash and his friends continue their journey, Volcanion drops down from the sky in front of them. Volcanion's object is to recover Magiana, who has been abducted by the "Azoth Kingdom", a city of super-machinery. However, Volcanion and Ash have become linked together by a strange chain. Will the two of them manage to work together and save Magiana?
    Taken from Serebii.net.

This is the first movie summary that was put in CoroCoro. It shows that Magiana is a good Pokémon not evil or a deceitful, although there could be a major plot twist with that but it seems unlikely that Magiana will be bad. Volcanion seems like a kind of guardian here so there are many questions left unanswered, which is to be suspected. All we can say is that we now know more or less about what the movie is about.

New update sorry for double-posting but it should be noticed, there is a new summary for the Contriving of Magiana, nope it's Magearna. That's right, they've revealed the name, it's most likely that it will be the same for English.

As Ash and his friends journeyed onward, a huge Pokémon suddenly fell from the sky in front of them! Appearing from the cloud of dust whirled up from the impact of the fall was the mythical Pokémon Volcanion! It turns out that Volcanion, who lives in the secluded "Navel Plateau" together with Pokémon that have been injured by humans actually has an intense hate for all humans.
Volcanion completely ignores Ash and his friends, and attempts to hurry away, but for some reason Ash ends up getting pulled along with it. Volcanion makes a run for it, and Ash gets pulled along. Incredibly, without either of them noticing, the two ended up linked together by a strange chain! Even though they want to get loose from this chain, it proves impossible. With no other choice, Volcanion started running off towards "Azoth Kingdom" while pulling Ash along with it, constantly fighting with him on the way.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Jarvis from Azoth Kingdom, a city of super-machinery where gigantic cogwheels are constantly rotating, has obtained the ultimate invention he has been searching for for so many years. It was the artificial Pokémon Magearna, which was born in the kingdom 500 years ago but since went missing, as well as the unknown power called the "Soul Heart" said to reside inside Magearna.
As Jarvis plots to use this power to rule the kingdom, Volcanion was attempting to retrieve Magearna, who got abducted from the Navel Plateau! "Ain't no way I'll ever forgive the humans!"
Will Volcanion and Ash manage to work together and save Magearna while linked together? And what is the true power the "Soul Heart" hides? It's time for the hottest battle in Pokémon history to begin!
