Okay I'm kinda stretching it here
    [IMG]
    But
In the Japanese Logos for Pokémon Sun and Moon we see those Crystal like things.

They look very similar to something in the Manga Pokémon ReBURST
    They're called Burst Hearts
The allow the user to literally fuse with their Pokémon

    Few facts about Burst Hearts
You can only use one if you have a good bond with your Pokémon
You cannot use one if the Pokémon does not belong to you
While fused with the Pokémon, you cannot use moves the Pokémon does not know (Example, early on the main characters Zekrom does not know a single Dragon type move.)
Both Trainer and Pokémon take damage while in this form
When defeated Trainer and Pokémon de-fuse

Now Pokémon ReBURST has a very...interesting Evil Organization
Their goal is to Find an efficient way to drain a Pokémon of its Power for their own desires (mainly weapons)
    However...this is an EVIL Organization
They did indeed find an efficient way, but it harms the Pokémon and in some cases kills it.

    The Manga is really good
    Have some really interesting fusions
    and yes...it's official
Btw its set in Gen 5
Also the Mascot is a talking Pansage [3D='pansage']

    Ok back on Subject
I speculate Sun and Moon will focus on either Trainer and Pokémon Bonds (aka Ash Greninja) or Pokémon and Human Hybrids
    Calling it now
If Im wrong I'll do a $10 eShop card Giveaway

    I swear if i'm wrong....

I made a thread for this but didn't realize you had a detailed post already. I've turned it into a thread since this theory is definitely deserving of one.

I see the points to this theory, and (very) reluctantly agree that this may be a feature; however, if it is, I'm not looking forward to it... and might not buy the games. The idea of Pokémon-Human fusion, to me, is very unappealing, awkward, and unoriginal. It was done by Digimon in the past, and in my opinion, done poorly. I don't think there's a right way to do it either.

Fusion between humans and Pokémon just doesn't feel like a Pokémon game at all. It might be fantastic for some people, but it's not a good idea whatsoever in my opinion.

Here's the part, though, that I'll say maybe it's not human-Pokémon fusion. It could be fusion between two Pokémon. If done right, this would be really cool. It actually sort of already exists. For example: Escavalier (Shelmet + Karrablast), Magneton (3x Magnemite), Dugtrio (3x Diglet... sort of?), Dodrio. I feel like there's a few I'm forgetting, but I'm open to fusion between Pokémon.

Yo-Kai Watch opened me up to this idea, admittedly. I was against it before, but seeing it in action, done well, in a vaguely similar game does wonders for changing opinions!

That's cool speculation, friend! I'm sure the games have something to do with those gems, kind of like how there were megastones in Gen 6 titles. If this truly is the case, I've got some questions that you may be able to answer, @[member="PlatoXaiver"] , since you've read the manga :O

What is the purpose of trainer fusing with Pokémon? Like. . Is there any bonus to it? Do stats increase or something? What's the point?

If this truly is going to be the main focus of Sun and Moon, what does it really do besides change a Pokémon/Trainer's appearance? Maybe the villains will be trying to do this fusion, whereas the protag is trying to stop this nonsense. . :s

It seems like an alternative to Mega Evolutions, to be honest, and while I kind of like the idea in general, I don't think it has a place in the games, largely for one reason: it involves humans fighting. So far in the entire Pokémon series, minus just a few instances (Ash trying to sucker-punch Mewtwo in the first movie, GSC rival pushing you away from the lab window, just a few others), humans are almost never shown to be directly involved in physical confrontation. Now, all of a sudden, humans are involved in battles, and are quite possibly getting physically hurt. Pokémon's probably doesn't want its primary target audience, young children, to be concerned with personally getting harmed on their adventures (instead, let your best friends get beaten up on your behalf). That fact alone, human injury, makes me doubt the likelihood of this.

Also, I'm wondering about those gems in the SunMoon icons (which don't appear in the English-language logos). They look like Burst Hearts, yeah, but do you know what else they look like? Revives. And Shards. And Star Pieces and Comet Shards. Or, just, you know, a gem of some kind. I don't mean to shoot down the idea, rather, I'm suggesting it's likely to be something entirely unique and new and exciting that perhaps none of us have predicted before.

If Burst combining does become a thing, I think it's most likely to happen in Unova redux (or its same-generation new region games in like gen 10 or 11)

The Manga does not go into detail at all with this..., they only thing they say about it is that its very dangerous.

However the Manga does go into slight detail about Burst Heart.
    ...I literally mean "Slight"

The Burst Heart has the Pokémon sealed inside a crystal. However this is different from your run-of the mill Pokéball. When used, the Pokémon inside and the user will fuse...however, as stated this process can kill you.

It is stated that this power was discovered by the main characters father ( Who has disappeared ), however the Evil Orginazation has this power now...yes they can fuse with their Pokémon, however some tend to do more...traditional methods of fighting.

The Bottom picture (sorry idk what happened) shows this man explaining how he got this power, it could easily kill our main.

However when he fused with his Zekrom...he kinda just takes the hit. Normal means of fighting don't really hurt him, despite that weapon being fueled by Fire Type Pokémon (Or its because Dragon resist Fire....yes Type advantages still matter)

However...I would say stats do increase.
Because our main is easily felled by a trainer fused with his Zorua
In one kick.... (Also the Trainer-Zorua hybrid can still use Illusion, he transforms twice during the battle)

I wish I could talk more about this Manga but...it's kinda hard to find the entire Manga online.
I can only find chapters 1-10, and Chapters 69-70

    That's a pretty skip...

I agree so much. The concept honestly sounds unappealing and I don't think it would work.

Pokémon/Pokémon fusion would be cool, though.
