Things you DON'T want to see in Sun & Moon

    We all have hopes for what Sun & Moon will contain, but what are some things you don't want to see in the new games?

    I'm not sure if I want to see Mega Evolution come back. That seemed like a very Kalos-centric theme to me, though I don't expect them to not bring it back. Also, can we please get rid of Cut as an HM? If that's not too much, how about removing Rock Smash as a TM?

    I'm all for reduced emphasis on HMs. I think they're all just inconveniences that don't really serve any purpose in the game. There are other ways around limiting player progression via gyms. Do it with minor story elements: the bridge is out, the cave is blocked, the boat captain is sick, an angry ghost pushes you back, a sleeping Pokémon blocks the way, you need a passport. But to track down and withdraw a Pokémon with a near-useless move just to progress through a location every time you go there? I hate it.

    Plus, anything that makes me need a "slave" on my team (HM-slave) is pretty un-cool.

    I'm hoping there aren't any more weird conditions for added evos or prevos on Pokémon. Like how they explain so many baby Pokémon as being previously unavailable by requiring incense at breeding, or so many Gen-4 Evos needing hold items or know Ancient Power to evolve. I'm okay with mysteriously not being able to breed Munchlax or evolve Yanmega and Rhydon in Gen 2, and suddenly they can in 4. I don't need an explanation or validation for their sudden availability, just let me acquire them with the same ease as most other Pokémon.

    I hope the story play through itself does not rely on HMs so much nor need the required gym badge to use an HM outside of battle. I thought that was always annoying a bit in the past including in OR/AS. I do not mind if the HMs are still in the game, but at least lower its usage outside of battle or not have them rely on gym badges.

    Also, they need to stop making the gyms so easy like take out the exp. share as a key item. I understand its to help train Pokémon more easily, but that takes the fun away of the game a little bit (at least to me). Or perhaps, increase the gym difficulty to make it more challenging.

    I'm hoping that hacked Pokémon aren't allowed. Please! My best friend keeps showing off her shiny Volcanion, Yveltal and Zygarde and I feel like I'm not the Pokémon Master anymore!

    I'm hoping they get rid of the overly nice rivals. I don't want to be healed before the battle (maybe after would be okay), and I want them to customize their team to counter mine like Gary tried to do.

    I also hope they remove HM's being permanent, or at least boost the power up. In game, Surf, Strength, and Fly aren't that bad for battle. However, the rest are pretty crummy.

    I hope they don't include that Exp. All. I know that I can turn it off if I wanted to, but even then it's hard to resist the temptation :(

    I don't want it to be the same old 7 Gyms > Major Evil Team Event > 8th gym > Pokémon League final battles type of game. I want a choice if I can be with the evil team or not. I don't want any more HM's and I don't really wanna see new Megas. I've never been a fan of them, though I do admit some designs are amazing. And I don't want nice Friend/Rivals I wanna see rivals like Blue and Silver again.

    I wish the story was more evenly spread out across the game, and more character development--I felt that five characters was a little too many, as your character, the other playable, and Shauna got any development. If they must include multiple rivals, make sure they get even development.

    I also didn't like how it took X/Y's story so long to really get going. I mean, it was worth it when it finally did, but at the same time, it felt a little rushed.

    I'm not sure if they can make the games more difficult, since, as time has went on, more and more things have been added that, while it makes getting Pokémon for competitive battling MUCH less of a hassle, it coincidently makes the actual story gameplay much easier, like the buffed Exp. Share. Take Gen 5, for instance. The games aren't that easy, actually, but one thing that does make it easier is unlimited TM usage. It's a lifesaver competitively, but when you can just teach everything on your team Flamethrower/Ice Beam/whatever before a gym leader or before each E4 member, it's not very hard to get past them.

    But speaking of Gen 5, what they CAN do is add a difficulty setting. In Black 2, Challenge Mode was a thing, which increased the opponent's AI and made their Pokémon stronger. For gym leaders, not only did that happen, but they would have an additional Pokémon on their team AND items on all of their Pokémon. Elesa had a Joltik with Energy Ball, for example.

    I don't want the overly nice rival anymore. I want someone who actually pushes me to become a better trainer. For example, I would love another Blue or Silver. However, I would be perfectly with a rival like one from DPPt. Although Barry was a goofy guy, he was still a powerhouse trainer. Please GF, bring back the challenging rivals.

    I'd honestly like more puzzles, but I'm still not a fan of HMs, so something to replace those would be interesting.

    The main thing that I don't want to see is the inclusion of too many pointless main characters. B&W had two rivals, but it didn't feel like they were bland at all, and their personalities were interesting and they contributed to the story. X&Y had 4 rivals who weren't really interesting, and they put too much emphasis on them when they didn't even get much character development. More effort should have been on AZ and Team Flare, since the plot kind of skipped over them unfortunately.

    I'd also like to see the roller skates removed. I know they were probably just a Kalos thing, and I'd be fine if they did come back, but I preferred ORAS' way of walking around with the circle pad. Maybe even add in an auto-run button like in HGSS for good measure, haha.

    So I don't care much for the kind of thing some games do to itself but there is one thing that has got me in anger!!! This is free legendary Pokémon... ok this seems kinda normal or a little to much depending on who you ask but I really dislike the fact you can have legendary Pokémon the gods, rulers and protectors or the world! capturing the god of creationg never seemed right to me then you have some oras legendary Pokémon just go ya you seem fine I am going let you shove me into a pc and only use me because none of your Pokémon can't learn fly!!!

    Hate to break it to you, but that'll go away when Grumpigs fly. (Wait, they can learn Bounce, does that count?) Legendary Pokémon are the game's way of giving you a challenge and making you feel all powerful-like. Even if it's less "I'm super powerful" and more "All right... Ultra Ball number eighty-six thousand, seven hundred and thirty-four... one... two... fail... Dusk Ball number twenty-four thousand, nine hundred and thirty-six..."

    Honestly, this is a long shot, but I just want to see sprites come back. Or at least try and make the 3D models have a little bit of charm to them. I just don't feel how the 3D models are in contrast to the charm of the sprites. While I have problems attaching to fifth gen, I have to say that spritework has to be some of my favourite in any Nintendo series.

    Pokémon definitely has room to improve, as do most video games series. HMs are definitely what come to mind immediately. I mean, they've toned it down significantly since Generation 4 and its wild amount of HMs, but nobody really wants to have to put "Cut" on their team anymore. Not only sometimes can one or none of my Pokémon learn the move, it is just a waste of a move slot and a pain to get rid of. The coolest HMs, Surf and Fly, I believe should be kept, as they are useful moves that actually make sense. Let's do away with Strength and Cut though, as we don't want to see them anymore, maybe bring them back as TMs if you care a lot.

    People are talking about how they don't want a nice rival, but I think they kinda did that in B&W with one rival who was super nice and another who wasn't necessarily harsh/evil, but just more serious. I think they should do this again instead of adding 4 or 5 rivals that you don't really get to know too well.

    Yeah... I don't really want to see another Blue/Silver. They just seemed like pricks for the sake of being pricks. After hearing the argument, I could think about maybe having a rival who's nice, but always beats you at everything (sort of combining the two)...

    Aside from the obvious HM slave issue, I think four rivals in X and Y was overkill. You only need two rivals, one for each other starter off the gen, not one for Corphish and Pikachu. The exp share was really dumb too. I know this is Farfetch'd, but I think when the main villain asks if you want to join the cause, you should be able to join the evil team. Back to the rival thing, even a rival like N for a third rival would be nice. That's really all I can think of though.

    I've heard people say that mega evolution will get replaced but that's exactly what I don't want to see. Why have a feature that you focus so much on just to remove it? It's in Pokken, Smash 4, the anime had a mega evolution special, etc. If they remove Mega Evolution I would be really sad as I really think it makes so many Pokémon so much cooler.

    I'm 1000% sure that there is someone who would like to kill me for this, but I kinda don't want to see trainer customization return in Sun & Moon. It's not that I hate it or anything similar, but simply I would prefer it to be Kalos-only thing, since Kalos' theme was fashion. Apart from that, there isn't really other "Kalos only" things that we'll remember it for. Sure, there was Friend Safari, and Trainer PR videos, but they aren't the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Kalos for majority of the people, Mega Evolutions and PSS are Gen 6 things, not Kalos things.

    I have to agree with majority people here in that I don't want to see an overly nice rival. I don't necessary want a rival like Blue or Silver, but I want someone who is competitive and simply doesn't want to lose to you. They could be your character's sibling, childhood friend, or even a complete stranger at the start of the game.

    I really don't like the idea of the EXP share being introduced too early in the game. Generation 6 was far too easy because it was SO much easier to train your team and make the gym leaders seem no more challenging than an average trainer. Another thing I don't want to see is that notorious Pokémon that teleports all the time. Pokémon like Entei, Suicine, Raikou, Mesprit, Cresselia, Tornadus, and Thundurus etc. that always roam across the map and are a serious pain to keep track of. It is nice to randomly stumble upon them (it's pretty exciting lol), but if they do happen to bring it back it should be implemented that they don't flee after the first turn for the sake of everyone's sanity.
