'Sup Battle Frontier Adventurers?

I have returned to my reign as Queen Noctis, True Guardian of the Battle Frontier. I'm so thrilled to be back watching over my competitive children again. However, with that being said, recently before I came back into this position I have seen a severe lack of competitive discussion or even drive. However, look no further friends, for I will be introducing a new, exciting monthly event for everyone to compete in! Hopefully, this will not only drive some activity back in this beloved forum of mine, but also (hopefully) get newer members into competitive battling as well!

And with that being said, lets get into it.

WELCOME TO THE BATTLE FRONTIER CHALLENGE.

The Battle Frontier Challenge (BFC) is a reoccurring monthly event that challenges Competitive Play in Pokémon Showdown. By participating in this challenge, the participant agrees that he or she will play in the designated tier and according to the theme each month the participant signs up. The participant will also have to pay a small fee in PokéPoints, which goes into the "jackpot." The more participants, the more money is in the jackpot. Whoever wins the most games by the end of the month with the designated team theme in the designated tier will win the jackpot.

Victories will be examined every Monday by me and everyone who is participating will receive a new ranking update every Monday in this thread. If a victory is earned in under 5 turns, I will judge the battle and determine if this should count towards your victory count. I will also provide you with an explanation why the decision was made.

Here are the current rankings as of 5/9/2016:

Leader: @[member=â€Bloomâ€]9 victories! Well done!

I had to rewatch and review three different battles. Battle 2, Battle 7, and Battle 10.

I have decided to not consider Battle 2 as a victory, as there was no evidence to make the player quit early.

However, for Battle 7, the victory was earned due to, what it seems, a calculation error on behalf of the enemy player. (Either that or he forgot to switch.) Losing a mega that early in the game definitely destroys any strategy planned for the team. Though I believe to never give up so early after losing an essential poke, this will be accepted as a victory.

Battle 10, the prediction was extremely accurate. Good call on that one! The victory was secured by that point as Cresselia ranks at 253 out of 721 different Pokémon in Speed. Having a slow Cresselia that has a chance to not use Moonlight is pretty scary after all. Not to mention, looking ahead, seeing that this was his main Defensive Cresselia that has EVs in DEFENSE. Since your team has a split amount of Special Attackers (3) and a good amount of type advantages, his team would crumble rather quickly without it's main wall, and the other tank (Tentacruel) that also focuses on Defensive stats would fall very quickly to Galvantula if played right.
