I like it. since we've never had a tropical region before. I just feel maybe they could have come up with a better name though. But I get it's supposed to resemble Aloha/Hawaii etc

Hoenn was the closest to a tropical region that we've had so far, so I'm excited to see what they do with Alola! I kind of guessed it would be either based after some region south of France (to possibly tie into Kalos because of Zygarde) or Hawaii (judging by things that actual Hawaiian residents have theorized), but Hawaii does make sense. After all, the Strange Souvenir from XY definitely looks like a tiki head, and there are similar statues around Alola from what we saw in the trailer. That name though... Alola? Seriously? You couldn't be a little more creative than that?

I do hope that Alola has more than just one island, though- since Hawaii is made up of many different islands. I think it would be cool that instead of surfing from island to island, that soaring made a return and you could fly to different islands that way. Either that or just take a ferry to the different islands. The island shown in the trailer definitely looks more like a starting town and city, as there isn't much on it. I'm excited to see the other islands when the game comes out.

I loved Hoenn, so I bet I'm going to enjoy Alola!

I agree, the name sounds kinda lazy but I think they're trying to keep the tradition of having the letter "O" in the region names (JOhtO, HOenn, KantO, SinnOh, KalOs, UnOva). And hey, since we live in a region that will most likely have a ton of water routes, I hope we can swim or use a surfboard to travel on water instead of needing a Surfing Pokémon. I mean, you live in Hawaii. You gotta at least know how to swim or surf, right?

I'm really digging the look. The path ways seem more natural than previous games. It looks more lived in and realistic, which I'm a really big fan of.

Alola huh? As fizzysoda said maybe they are keeping the tradition of letter o in their region names. Apart from name the region looks great and i am excited about it. If we can surf and travel through sea roots its going to be awesome.

I think I'll have to say the name at least 3000 more times before it sounds right to me, but that's about the only thing I don't like about the new region.
I like the general atmosphere the place likes to have. The region is really starting to feel real to me, especially with this new style of buildings that makes it feel a lot more genuine because the humans feel more in proportion with the surrounding buildings.
I personally hope for multiple islands to travel too. also, plz give us something in space to travel to much thanks in advance
I'm definitely looking forward to this! :D

Nah the locals will probably just protest it again

In regards to the naming, it's a little silly I agree, but I dig it. It sounds weird, but it sounds like a Hawaiian word. I kinda hope they incorporate other Hawaiian city names and things (i.e. Wahiwa, Aiea, Pele [volcano goddess], Kiki [children], etc) to make it sound more genuine. For those who aren't sure what it's supposed to be based off of I can 100% assure you that this is supposed to be Hawai'i. The look of the npc's, the colors, the clothing, etc. all of it is very much Hawaiian. It makes me a little happy in a sense, because not many people talk about Hawai'i unless it's about vacationing there. I can't wait to see what else is in store for this game, and I'd love to be able to talk about the Hawaiian themes about it with people who know little about it all

I'm really digging the tropical vibe that Alola is giving off, and I have to admit I love the name as well, solely because "Alola" spelled backwards is still "Alola". Hmm, maybe they'll put Alomomola in Alola...

But I really like the scenery we've seen so far, and the fact that SM doesn't run on grids anymore makes me want to explore every nook and cranny of the region.

Also, please just give us items instead of HMs. Litten can't learn Surf.

Yes! I love the name for that reason too! It was the first thing that came up in my mind lol XD

Personally, I don't like tropical places (I had a terrible experience in Vanuatu where I fainted from the humidity and heat stroke so I'd like to avoid places like that). However, I do think the scenery and the design of it all is beautiful! I do love the water although from my experience in Vanuatu, the water is probably warm which is not something I can get used to @-@ I like to swim in cool water.

Alola is so beautiful <3 I can't imagine what we've shown being the entire region; it looks much too small. Since it seems to be based on Hawaii, I imagine there'll be more islands to explore, kinda like the Sevii Islands in Kanto (which I loved). It'd also be super cool if you could travel to Kalos, especially since I can't see Zygarde transferring to the island! (Then again, other legendaries somehow wind up in other regions, so who knows.)

Really looking forward to seeing what kind of Pokémon inhabit the island; I bet a lot of them will be super colorful <3
