All across the Pokeworld, idols both male and female capture the hearts and imaginations of millions. But what many don't realize is that there are special schools just for idols to hone their skills in performance, as well as training the next generation of idols.

Rainbow Music Academy is one such school, and it has produced many superstars both male and female across its storied history, many of which have gone on to enjoy long and successful music and acting careers.

Studying at an idol academy like Rainbow is more than just singing poppy lyrics and dancing in cute costumes--you learn how to play instruments, act, give interviews, and most importantly, how to use the magic of the Star Power--a special magic deep within an idol's heart that gives form to their love for the music. Star Powers have many names, come in many forms, and may even manifest in different ways depending on the idol or costume. When it does manifest, a Star Power gives the idol's voice and any instruments they are playing an echo effect for a short time.

But every idol, no matter what school they attend, has a big dream--to be crowned the top idol (or idol unit) in Kanto--the Indigo Idol(s).

You are a new idol in training at Rainbow--will you go it alone as a solo act, or band together with your friends on your way to become the Indigo Idol(s)?

Sign up here with the following info:

    Your character's name
Your character's age (PCs should be no older than 18, and no younger than 13)
Your character's appearance (Don't just give a picture--this will cause your sign-up to be Rejected.)
Your character's personality and a brief history
What kind of idol your character is (explained below)
What skills your character has--what kind of music they prefer to play, what their vocal range is, what instruments do they play, if any, can they dance or act, etc.

Remember: Idol academies strive to create music that has a broad appeal, so a genre like hard rock or heavy metal would not fit in this world.

Any anime and game song (and some songs from American and European cartoons) can be used as songs for performances

Idols are grouped into Cute, Cool, Beautiful, and Exotic for girls, and Dreamy, Heartthrob, Charming and Rugged for boys.

Cute girls and Dreamy boys typically wear a lot of clothing that conveys an innocent and sweet image, and typically sing songs with sugary sweet lyrics to match.

Cool girls and Heartthrob boys wear casual clothing, and sing songs with a distinct beat.

Beautiful girls and Charming boys wear elaborate clothes with lots of sparkles, glitter, and color, and have the voices to match their elaborate costumes.

Exotic girls and Rugged boys wear clothing and sing songs inspired by other lands, but do so in a way that respects the culture their costume came from.

However, you are not limited to being set completely in one of these four types--you can mix and match elements of all four types to create a unique style.

    this sound really ineresting tbh

    Your character's name: Haruka Saitoru
    Your character's age: 14
Your character's appearance: shorter girl who has long green hair that goes to her hips. She has dark purple eyes and is very pale. Haruka wears red glasses and has bunny ear headphones she wears around her neck. She is pretty skinny as well.
Your character's personality and a brief history: Haruka has always loved music. She was in her elementary school's choir every year she could be. She has been playing the piano since she was 7 and her love of music has only acceled since. She wants to go to Rainbow Music Academy to further her music career.
Haruka is very shy around people she doesn't know. She also gets very nervous in large crowds. Once she gets to know you she is a very nice person and loves to help people around her. She is always very happy so she is almost always smiling.
What kind of idol your character is: cute girl
What skills your character has: Haruka (as stated above) has been playing the piano since she was 7 and has always been in her school choir. She prefurs to play bubbly and cheerful types of songs (pop to an extent). Haruka has a mezzo-soprano vocal range. She isn't the greatest at dancing and coreagraphing, but is a great actor.

    Okay, you are Accepted!

I'm looking for a fairly even balance of idol types, but not too many people to keep track of. If I get a lot of the same type, I may create a unit based on that type

An example of a song a Cute girl or a Dreamy boy might sing--Happy come! come!

Yay! Not late this time, XD

    Your character's name: Ayaka Harujaki

    Your character's age: 15

Your character's appearance: Ayaka has blonde hair that is usually kept in curly pigtails that goes to her hips. She has carnation pink eyes, and has a light skin. She usually wears stylish and elegant dresses, and is usually seen with an amethyst pendant around her neck. She also wears high heels, but not those that are too high.

Your character's personality and a brief history: She is pretty much a very shy person when she talks to strangers, but she is very cheerful around her friends. She could be classified as a genki girl. She loves to play the violin, and has been a master at it since she was 8 years old. Her parents are divorced, and she lives with her caring mother. She wants to become an idol so that she could earn some money for her mother.

What kind of idol your character is (explained below) She is a mix between (Is that allowed?) a cute girl and a beautiful girl. She wears elegant dresses, and usually little to no jewelry, except for her pendant. She could wear something like this (I don't own the model, I'm just saying that this is what she would possibly wear): http://yamisweet.deviantart.com/art/Harajuku-Miku-model-DOWNLOAD-474892949

What skills your character has--what kind of music they prefer to play, what their vocal range is, what instruments do they play, if any, can they dance or act, etc.

Ayaka can play the violin, and she usually likes to sing love and cheerful songs, but never sad songs. She always has a high voice, but often, due to her drinking cold water all the time, she usually has a semi-high voice. She is the worst at dancing and would usually be clumsy with her movements. Her acting skills are okay, and she still trains it more.

    You are Accepted!

As I said in the basic premise, you are allowed to mix and match idol types to create your own unique sound. so an idol with both Cute and Beautiful elements (or a boy with Charming and Dreamy elements) is fine.

An example of a song a Beautiful girl or a Charming boy might sing: Smoky Thrill

One of Rainbow's more famous units is Miracolore, a group of four friends that enjoy each other's company offstage as will as on it. They will be teaching you as well as performing, so it's best to get to know them early.

The four idols of Miracolore are:

    --Serena Lacroix

    Idol Type: Beautiful/Exotic

    Genre: Pop

    Talents: Voice, Dance

Originally from Vaniville in Kalos, Serena followed her childhood friend Ash into Rainbow Music Academy, and discovered there was more to being an idol than good looks and a nice voice. With Ash's help and a few new friends, she set out on a journey of a lifetime, which led her to become a star.

    Theme color: Yellow

    --Ash Ketchum (stage name Redbolt)

    Genre: Pop

    Idol type: Heartthrob

Talents: Voice, Dance, Instruments (guitar, flute, and harmonica onstage, Pokeflute and whistle offstage), Acting

A triple threat in music, dance, and acting, it's easy to see why Ash, or as he is known to his fans, Redbolt, is quickly becoming a rising star around the world. He is never without his faithful Pikachu, and has as much energy offstage as onstage.

He has an incredible high range--his highest recorded note is the third Ab above middle C (at the end of "Glitter n' Gold", a song he wrote in honor of Serena), but rumors say he can go even higher if he has warmed up beforehand.

    Theme color: Red

    --Misty Williams

    Idol Type: Cool/Beautiful

    Genre: Rock/Jazz

Talents: Voice, Dance, Instruments (piano onstage, fiddle/violin offstage)

Misty's persona onstage is as cool and laid back as the waters of Cerulean City. But she can also unleash some hard hitting rock riffs as easily as singable jazz melodies. She is also known to play fiddle/violin offstage, and while well known for her hair-trigger temper, she only wants her friends to be their very best.

    --Brock Harrison

    Idol type: Charming/Rugged

    Genre: Pop/Acoustic Rock/Folk

Talents: Voice, Dance, Instruments (acoustic guitar onstage, whistle, trombone/euphonium, and harp offstage), Acting

One of Rainbow's best known alumni that now teaches as well as performs, Brock is well loved and well liked around the school for his easy-to-understand and fun style of teaching. Very much a do-er, he would rather his students try something for themselves than stand there and lecture. He is never seen without his iconic black acoustic guitar (which he will play if you ask nicely). Offstage, he knows plenty of stories of life as an idol and folktales, which he will tell if you ask.

He has the ability to "read" a costume and tell you what Star Powers, if any, are inside. He is also multilingual, and has been known to speak and sing in Irish Gaelic, Italian, and Spanish, in addition to English, often slipping into speaking one of these languages without realizing it.

    Theme Color: Green

This is pretty awesome tbh. My OC would definitely try to learn from Serena or Misty. Ayaka is very clumsy while dancing, lol.

One question though. Do we each get our own Pokémon from the beginning or do we have to catch them while we're in the academy? (Since I noticed Ash's info)

You can earn Pokémon as prizes in idol competitions, or catch them on field trips to the Safari Zone.

Some other key terms, locations, and people:

Superstar Pendant--the necklace all idols, both male and female, wear while on the academy grounds, this is how they access their Closet to transform into their idol selves. To invoke it, one must say "(jewel type) Superstar, Showtime!" The pendant will glow and the user transforms into an appropriate outfit picked from their Closet. To go immediately to their Closet, the user says "(Jewel type) Star, take me home!"

Closet--all the items an idol has acquired, traded, won, or bought go in this massive room that serves as both living quarters and a storage area for costumes, instruments, props, and other items.

Every Closet showcases the owner's character, and to be invited inside another person's Closet is the ultimate sign of friendship between idols.

Ash's Closet has a lot of red and neon stuff (even if it is a little messy), in keeping with his 80's pop persona

Misty's Closet evokes a beachside jazz club, complete with several pools, some of them heated. This reflects jazz being one of her strong genres. She will often host pool parties in the summer.

Brock's Closet evokes a mountaintop cabin, reflecting his "earthy" and homespun persona and Folk being one of his strong genres. It is a popular place for sing-alongs and jam sessions.

Serena's Closet evokes a glitter-filled world, in keeping with a similar 80's pop persona like Ash, and a fondess for sparkling clothing.

Item Gems--every item an idol earns first resemble a gem of their theme color, with a design etched in the gem to tell what kind of item it is:

    Shirt-upper body clothing
    Pants-lower body clothing
    Dress/Suit-whole body costumes
    Bathing Suit/Swim Trunks--swimwear
    Coat-winter gear
    Chair-furniture/decor/housewares
    Ring-jewelry/accessory
    Thunderbolt-electronic item
    Music Note-headset mic or instrument
    Pikachu head-Pokémon related item

Glitter Sale-at the start of every school year, the items a graduated idol once used are put up for sale so the incoming class of idols can get a head start on decorating their Closets, and returning idols can find some good items. Glitter Sales are also held as fundraisers.

Headset mic--a pair of headphones with a mic attached that doubles as ear protection and allows the idol to have both hands free to play instruments or use props and sing. Each headset mic has a design unique to every idol (Ash's has a red thunderbolt, Misty's has a blue water drop, Brock's has three green leaves, and Serena's has a yellow eight point star

    Closet Etiquette:

During your time as an idol in training, there are some general rules of thumb when visiting other people's Closets:

--Do not just drop in unannounced--give the person you wish to visit some advance warning. If the person says that you are always welcome in his/her Closet, Rainbow superstition says that your friendship with the person will last a lifetime and beyond.
--If you must drop in unannounced, have a good reason for doing so--to return a borrowed item, deliver a requested item, etc. Stopping by a stranger's closet without first getting to know them is considered rude.
--A Closet reflects the personality and style of its owner--do your best to keep it somewhat clean, since it is your home for at least four years (although some idols that graduate do stay to teach the next generation, such as Miracolore)
--Do not touch anything inside another person's Closet unless you have been given permission to do so (usually your host/ess well tell you what is okay to touch when you arrive.)

She only ever lived with her dad, cause her mom started traveling and never came back. She decided at the age of 10 to travel also. Having always a small pachirisu with her. Right now, you have just arrived at the academy and are getting settled in your Closet--your living quarters where you're there.

Also, what color would you want your Superstar Pendant to be? This will affect what costumes you will get and what Star Powers you can use
