Where there's Pokémon, there's Fakemon: Pokémon designed by the Pokémon fanbase. People enjoy designing Fakemon or using them in their own ROM hack to enrich their gaming experience. There are many more ways to use them though! What do you think of Fakemon? Have you ever created one? Do you have a personal favourite? Have you ever played ROM hacks with Fakemon in them?
I created a fakemon in fifth grade but haven't made any since. Everyone does it and I think it is a great thing. It's kinda like fanfiction, people will make it so you might as well enjoy some of it. No shame in it as far as I'm concerned.
I haveare a number of fakemon and I enjoy looking at others. Sometimes though I wonder if we are making it harder to come up with designs for new official Pokémon in some way.
I think fakemon are really cool. It gives people a chance to theorize on what new specie of Pokémon comes up next. I once did a fakemon (a really long time ago) for a contest, but I do not have it anymore. As for ROM Hacks, I'm not really allowed to have those games on my computer due to being cautious on viruses.
I think Fakemon are very interesting, they can be really amazing to see what people can do and also to see the ideas people have. It shows how creative the fans can be! I really wish I could play a ROM hack but I am also afraid of viruses so I am too scared to actually play some amazing looking ROMs.
I have created a couple of Fakemon and they can be viewed on my art profile (totes not advertising). But as in terms of things that aren't in work and are actually in the games, I don't like the concept. I would just stick to the original designs and move on with life.
I really love Fakemon! I haven't made too many, myself, but I do love looking at other peoples' designs. Some of the ideas are so creative, and they could pass for actual Pokémon at times. I know there are a ton of ROM hacks and fangames that use fan-made Pokémon, but I've never played any of them myself. Still, they are fun to look at! My favorite Fakemon I made was one I made somewhat recently (earlier this year), a possible third legendary for Sun and Moon based after the Nordic myths of the wolves who chase the sun/moon and devour them to cause an eclipse- It's the best Fakemon design I've made, at least in my opinion. I even made a fake boxart to go with it, haha. I've seen a ton of other creative Eclipse-based Fakemon, too!
Fakemon are amazing. They are a way for fans to make the Pokémon universe bigger. I have made some Fakemon myself, but I never got the change to get them digital and make them more proffesional. It always stopped with the usual drawings on paper. Kinda a shame, really @[member="Deltheor"] That Fakemon of yours is truly amazing I'd love to be as good with designing as you are
