What game do you think will get a reboot next and why? We have gotten Heartgold, Soulsilver, and now ORAS, but which next? I have a feeling Diamond and Pearl will be coming soon with a new reboot. It is the most forgotten of generations and had a lot going for it, it just came out in an awkward phase of Nintendo, it had ideas but they were not fleshed out, events constantly got cancelled, etc. So I think it deserves the next reboot!

Following the trends, Diamond and Pearl will get the reboots probably next year. I am looking forward to see what will be new in them, I used to like the games a lot and the Sinnoh underground was very fun to muck around with.

Of course the Sinnoh games are next in line to get remakes, but I think that the Pokémon Trading Card Game (for Gameboy Colour) should also get a reboot. With how popular the Trading Card Game is, it'd be nice to get a game where you can easily enjoy playing the game without needing to spend so much money. Sure, we have the Trading Card Game Online program, but most of the time you still need to buy cards, either in real life or with in-game coins, but this "Pokémon Trading Card Game" reboot would be the easiest way to play Pokémon cards with friends without needing the actual cards. It could also be used as a tool for testing out decks before you set out to buy the cards in real life, and would be much more effective that the Trading Card Game Online program in that regard.

I'd also love to see a Stadium game return for the Wii U or NX. I know that Junichi Masuda himself has stated that "since the games are in 3D now, there's no need for a Stadium-type game", being able to watch battles in HD on a big TV with lots of friends around would be really cool, and it would make it much easier to screen tournaments like VGC.

Awh, the Sinnoh stuff was fun for what it was. </3 I'd like to see a reboot of it, perhaps on the 10th anniversary of Platinum's release? Would be a nice throwback. As for the other games, well, Mystery Dungeon seems to still have a pulse and I never really liked the Ranger games, so I'm not quite sure what other Pokémon game to reboot short of a console TCG but eh.

Sinnoh is the obvious one if they're going to continue remakes, it's just the pattern..I mean not much more to be said there. However what I would prefer is Yellow. We already had Leaf Green and Fire Red, I know, but for my part I think a modern 3DS remake of just Yellow (with extra features like post-game islands with Pokémon from the other gens for example) would be a whole lot more interesting. The 3DS has been around for a good long while but the DS is still last-gen and at least two console generations before a reboot is a formula that I like.

But, yeah, if they're gonna do it it will probably be Sinnoh. It's something that can wait its good long time as far as I'm concerned though.

I have the craziest feeling that the Reboot might be for the NX instead of the 3DS. The Pokémon Company has already confirmed they would release a Pokémon game on the NX within six months. In that case. the reboot would have two console gens between them. Also I don't think Yellow would be a good choice, seeing as it was rereleased this year on the virtual console.

DP Remakes and Pokémon Ranger (Maybe that one for the NX......). Both really need the love of a remake as all but the last few gen 4 games felt rushed (In terms of development) IMO. Some say the series is going to get rebooted after SM which would be cool.... if they did it right (Appeal to the older audience for once)....

Far as I'm concerned a virtual console port with nothing changed or added (and frankly late to the game a little anyway since everyone who really wanted to play old Yellow was doing it via emulator years before then) isn't even in the same category as an actual remake with updated stat systems, features, graphics and Pokémon and all that. Far enough out of the same league that "well it just happened recently" doesn't have much weight.

I have a feeling Red/Blue/Yell0w will come out before Diamond and Pearl. But I hope that doesn't happen, but that is the feeling I have.

    PokePark 3, anyone? ;0;

And we seriously need a new ranger game - those games were so much fun! Especially SOA.

I'd also love another mystery dungeon, but one that's as good as Sky, Time and Darkness.

I'd love to see a sinnoh remake, too. ( just remake all the games from gen 4 and I'm happy )

I'm on the DP reboot train as well, but this is a really interesting idea. I could definitely see that happening; though, I'm not sure how many people would want to just drop the 3DS immediately for the NX! We'll see how things go. :)

Sure, Sinnoh is probably the next if we're going chronogically, and what I'm about to say might not be the most popular opinion, but bear with me. I would love to see another Kanto remake.

I get it, Kanto has appeared in all of the first four generations, either as the main region or as post-game access. But it's just because of that that I want to see it back, in all its three dimensional glory. Even though I didn't grow up with Pokémon as a child, and Pokémon X was technically the first real Pokémon game I ever played (i.e. not counting emulators), I feel a certain sense of nostalgia for Kanto. There's no reason I could traverse through almost completely blindly, except for the region where it all started. I would love to experience going through that very same region once again, but with the crazy graphical advancements that the Pokémon games have gone through since Kanto last appeared in HeartGold/SoulSilver.

(Not to mention it'd be a massive nostalgia bombs for those who actually grew up playing the original Kanto-based games first)

I really have my doubts. Game Freak has always been adamant that its main series games exist on a portable platform. However, I could (and would like to) see connectivity with the NX for example being able to play 3DS games on your TV screen by wirelessly linking a 3DS, sort of like a current gen Super Gameboy or Transfer Pak or whatever the Gamecube-GBA thing was called, built right into the NX system.

It's my belief though that main series Pokémon including reboots will remain a portable experience.

I would like to point out that the rumors currently circulating point towards the NX being a hybrid. Both handheld with a docking station to connect with the TV and play on the big screen. However I do concur that while it seems unlikely, we should not discount the possibility of it happening, Nintendo is making some rather odd jumps in this year after all.

Seems like you were right, the Switch is essentially (to me) the evolution of both the Wii-U and the 3DS at once, and if that's the case then Pokémon's future would be there...maybe. And Sinnoh remakes there with whatever Gen VIII will be.

Seeing as the Switch is supposedly not compatible with either 3DS cartridges or Wii U discs, I am very hesitant now to say that the next Generations will be released on the Switch. Not to mention that the supposed battery life is only 3 hours, when away from the docking station. I think I will still prefer to see them roll out on the 3DS, seeing as I am on the road more often and I do not like to be restricted. By we will have to see what Nintendo will want to do.

I'll be honest I hope they don't reboot any more of the games. Too many games today are releasing "HD versions" or whatever of their games and it's completely unnecessary. Soon we'll be getting a reboot of Black and White which won't even need to be updated. I really hope no more Pokémon games get remakes.

I am curious is ORAS took the slot of Pokémon Z since it was rumored and made it to the anime but never got to game form. Now I am not sure if Sun and moon would need a third game but if we got another reboot then would we never get the third game, does it take the slot?

I do agree that the logical choice for the next remake/reboot would be Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, as has been the trend in the past. I'd really like to see what Nintendo and Gamefreak could do with a remake of Gen 4, since so far, the remakes have been awesome. Incorporating Giratina into a fully-fleshed out postgame story of sorts would be incredible, similar to what they did with Rayquaza in ORAS.

As far as other games go, I'm not quite sure. I'd like to see another Ranger game, but that's more of a sequel/new game than a reboot. Possibly an HD remake of Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky? The story and gameplay in that was incredible, and even if it is unlikely, I'd love to see a remake of it eventually.
