Seems interesting, I just checked it out. Sort of like a mix between Join Avenue and the PSS. But I'm curious, will people who you've added the FCs of automatically show up in a list to tell them apart from randoms on the guest list? I'll obviously want to trade with folks from here in the future but I don't know how I'd tell it's them and the tutorials didn't explain that aspect well. It's just release day now so there's going to be time to figure this all out, it's new to everyone, but if anyone knows more about this aspect than me/learns things, let me (and everyone else) know! I guess we'll learn together, something to get used to. Festival Plaza general thread I guess.
I really love this concept, though one thing that bothers me is when people load in and it lags or when people dont load in at all, like you aren't going into the load zone for them. It is just bothersome since it lags about, seems to need a little patch.
It does lag a little yeah, but I find refreshing my guest list to find my fc added friends pretty simple, just a little tedious because it's not explained in game very well!! It is very addictive though, and I wouldn't mind if you guys wanna add me.
It's pretty nifty, but the trading and battling features seem really rushed, which is a shame. I couldn't figure out how to efficiently filter guests from friends - the only indicator I could see was the part next to their name that said if they're on your friend list. I've heard talk about it being updated eventually, though, so here's hoping.
Ahh yeah I noticed this just earlier when one of the kind people who added me from here a little while back hopped online while I happened to be in my plaza. It certainly is kinda clumsy and rushed but at least it's clear to me now how to tell them apart, and at least they can be added to VIP if you also run into them on the Plaza streets or after you actually do a trade/battle. Still though it could use an update, instead of just Guest, VIP and Block lists from the start they could have easily added an extra list solely for Friends. I too hope they update it for the better, really the addition of that list is all they would need to do.

The tutorial was a bit confusing so I haven't bothered using the online features yet (tho I will probably need to soon). I definitely need to watch a tutorial on YouTube because I can't figure out how to get my FC-added friends on my guest list. All I've been doing so far in Festival Plaza was trying to get someone to introduce me to the Team Pink facility. I badly need pink clothes and I regret not getting Sun instead of Moon.
I really love the Plaza, it reminds me a lot of Join Avenue from BW2! Leveling up my castle is a fun little side thing to do when I'm taking a break from training and catching things in the main game. It's a great way for me to get some EVs and levels on Pokémon I'm trying to train, as well. The online features are a bit confusing, but once I got used to them, they've been pretty awesome.
It's really not worth making a new thread about it so I figure it's best posed here: if you've ranked up your plaza enough to take it over and name it, what did you name it? For now I just named it Dusty Avenue. It reminds me so much of Join Avenue from Gen 5 that I felt I had to name it some kind of avenue, and what better type of avenue than one named after my current set of Dust related aliases? Also if I did actually run something like that it would probably be a physically dusty place because I am pretty damn lax on chores most of the time.
I was kinda dissapointed. I thought it was going to be akin to the wifi square in gen 4. while its not bad at all and some of the features are cool, I think most of the games are lacking and it gets confusing trying to remember all the stores you have.
Well it's nice that they tried to bring back some aspects from Gen V's Join Avenue. I loved that feature in BW2 and I still remember the 'Magnemite Coil' thing back in the day where people traded Magnemites to increase the visitor count in their game. Good times. Though I wish they had polished the communication system a bit better because the one we have now is kinda confusing to me. Like a lot of people, I couldn't tell who's on my friend list and who's just a rando in my plaza. I prefer the PSS, to be honest. It's more convenient and takes less time to open the GTS or start a wonder trade. I named mine "Plaza de Lune" after I earned enough levels. There's no particular reason behind it, though. It literally means 'Moon Plaza'. Not that creative, I know
I hardly visit the Festival Plaza. The only times I do visit are when I need to go to the GTS, or battle with some friends online. ewe' I do see it very similar to the Join Avenue fro B2/W2 with the points you get to increase your rank. I don't really visit that much since I use quick link to do trades/battles for friends that are nearby.
Still haven't raised the level enough to give it a name, but I think I am going to call it Azure Dawn. Get it? I don't like it very much though. It is tiresome to have to transport to another area just to be able to start a wondertrade or trade with online friends. Not to mention the system sucks when trying to find the correct people and adding the to your vip list is a chore.
