Sun & Moon have brought us many wonderful gifts. One of my favorites, though I've yet to use it, is Hyper Training. For those of you who don't know, hyper training allows you to max out your Pokémon's IVs. I'm one of those people who really likes having "optimal" set ups in game, and thanks to Hyper Training, I've been able to enjoy Pokémon so much more. I have no worries at all about IVs now, and the only thing I care about is nature and, to a degree, ability. I'm incredibly thankful for this addition to the game.

How do you feel about it?

I find it interesting, though I really am not interested in there being a way around all that work people do. It is really helpful but I will miss the hard work coming with breeding.

A few important details to note about Hyper Training, though.

First is the easiest, the fact a Pokémon has to be level 100 to do it:
-That in-of-itself wouldn't normally be that difficult, however, this game's only real grinding area is beating the E4 over and over again, not to mention that every level that you gain, the less experience you get from the E4 due to the scaling experience mechanic.

    Next, bottlecaps:
-These things are apparently quite rare, and that's not talking gold bottlecaps, just the normal ones... Gold bottlecaps are on par with getting a second masterball through the lotto, available, but unlikely, the others can be fished but I've been hearing about people fishing for hours and not pulling one. You can buy them with shards you can get from pokepelago, but apparently these are still uncommon, and you need quite a few for one bottlecap.

Lastly, well the last thing I have for now, the IV's are ONLY useful in battle:
-This isn't a huge negative if you're using them on a good natured legendary/Pokémon that can't breed at all, but...
-The IV's obtained through bottlecaps cannot be bred down... If you attempt to breed down the bottlecap'd IVs it'll just breed down the IVs that the mon had previously.
-Finally, the bottlecaps don't effect your Hidden Power... whatever HP you had before using bottlecaps is the HP that stays

So all in all, while it is a useful feature, it doesn't overtake breeding much at all.

I think it's a great addition, I love it, but I have to wonder because I have seen no indication of it yet: did they do away with regular old Super Training? If so I really don't like that. Sure there's always the old original way to do EVs, and some things in Festival Plaza, but Reset Bags were a Godsend and even if it wasn't technically the most efficient way of EV training, I really liked how everything was clear as day and easy to keep track of, it showed you exactly how many EVs were being added and where. If there's no super training it's like back to Gen 5 where you just have to do it the old way and know what EVs a Pokémon will give in battle, or use those shops in the Plaza where they just say things like "grew slightly". Well what is "slightly"? 2? 4? 8? It's not made clear at all.

Even if Super Training is solely a post game thing I would be totally fine with that, I just really hope it wasn't removed all together, I found it so helpful and convenient.

I feel like this has a lot of potential, because I can see it take away some stress from competitive breeders: they don't have to wait until they get a 6V Pokémon, they can also use a 4v or 5v Pokémon and breed from there. (I'm obviously not a competitive battler and a breeder lol, I'm sure it's not actually that easy).
I think I'll use the feature to enhance the stats of some of the Pokémon that have been with me the longest. They deserve some love <3

Super Training has been removed completely. You can still check EVs on your Pokémon Status page though by pressing Y. So yea, it is back to just Gen 5 grinding EVs, but if you have pokerus and a power item, then chain battle the same Pokémon with the SOS system, you can max out an EV in 6-7 kills...

That really blows. I mean I know I can still do it I just really don't like the old way. And with no reset bags mean I'll have to just breed fresh when the time comes. This is a huge step backwards as far as I'm concerned.

Hyper Training is like event points to me. I know they exist, but I have no clue how they work.

there are berries that lower evs by 1 to raise happiness

you get a silver bottlecap and you max an iv to 31
you get a gold bottlecap and you can max all ivs to 31

Yeah I know, but finding/buying and then feeding hundreds of these berries to reset EVs on an existing fully weird spread EVd Pokémon? That's ridiculous. There's more positives than negatives with Sun and Moon for sure but the removal of Super Training is a big negative and is my least favorite thing about Gen 7. I don't get why they did this. Super Training and then level 100 Hyper Training, even if both locked away in the post game, would have made this the perfect gen for raising ideal Pokémon for me.

Can't have it all I guess. At least (as far as I know) EVs will stay in-tact when transferred through the bank so my favorites/team members from Omega Ruby in January will be all good on arrival.

Do the Pokémon have to be at lvl 100? Also you can easily get a lot of Bottle Caps by fishing. I have 8 already after like 4 hours.

Yes, the Pokémon have to be at level 100, and just because you managed to get 2/hour (which is rather crappy considering the other limitation) doesn't mean everyone can because rng is a pain in the butt. I've heard of some spending an entire day's work worth on fishing for bottlecaps and only getting 1, while I've heard some getting like 5 or 6 in one hour...

Is a good add for those that wasn't able to bring their Ditto using the PokeBank. In-game is not really necessary to have IV perfectly but I think as Mr. Danny Devito @[member="Satix"] in there.

I'm pretty disappointed with it, honestly. If they had made it so that any Pokémon could use them and not just Lv. 100s then it would have been great but with no easy way to grind in Sun/Moon it's not a practical thing to do.
