New to the Forum

Uh hi there haha
I'm not very good at these intro things, but I figured I'd try.

Basically, I'm a veteran Pokémon player since red/blue and play pretty much every spin-off etc, When I branch out, it's usually Nintendo classics such as Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Fantasy Life, and also Stardew Valley. My favorite Pokémon is hands down shiny sylveon, despite the username, which is just a thing from ages ago haha

I guess the most noteworthy thing to mention is I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, also all round extreme nerd as long as it's not related to numbers really. I'm also a long time member of dA and that's where I've been for many years as my 'internet home' as such: http://clefairykid.deviantart.com. I used to be the Pixel Art moderator for a bit but these days I'm less active there as I'm focusing on digital painting and social media presence building.

Other places you might find me lurking are gaiaonline, the bell tree forums and reddit. I also coded my own website, but I rarely update it with actual content at this point: http://clairechivell.com/ I just really like to design interfaces that look creative, I'm not so great with anything back end.

I've probably written too much, but I'm wordy, so there's something else you've learned from this Last thing, I live in a rural part of Australia so there's no modern internet, therefore I've got no access to youtube or similar data heavy stuff unless I happen to travel quite a way on the odd occasion, so I'm not just blowing you off if I don't see your links, it's just not physically possible. And because it happens a lot, that's not meant to be a conversation starter, it's just a warning, it's not interesting just frustrating.

 

Aw thanks! I haven't had as much time for Fantasy Life as I'd like yet so it's only around 100 hours or so (I plan to complete each career before starting the next, as much as that's possible since some recipes require cross over ingredients), and Stardew I also haven't had as much time with but just started to do my own pixel art mods to redo my house and interior, so the hours will shoot up on that pretty soon.

Animal Crossing I'm somewhere over 600 but haven't checked for a while, I expect over 1000 by the time I get the catalogue completed, and the medals collected. Catching 5k bugs and 5k fish is no joke, the fish in particular is killing me.

Pokémon, I couldn't say for sure either, because the in game timer broke at 999 hours on X. I missed ORAS from the sheer burnout and now I'm just starting up again on Sun But I will go back for it at some point I'm sure because secret base decorating is not to be missed! :'D

Thank you! It's very kind. I might, although I really am atrocious at keeping active on there, at best I clean out my inbox enough to prevent it becoming out of control and that's it. Favorite villager is a close one, but Marina I think. I also love Zucker, Octavian, Tangy and Merengue, and thanks to the update I can have them without forking out millions for each :'D No need to choose anymore haha ^ ^

Aw thank you very much ^ ^' I've got to admit, I've been really quite staggered at how little known it is considering it's possibly one of the best new games in recent years, it's just beautifully crafted and well presented and most importantly of all teeming with enough content to get to the 1k hours mark, if that's not value for money I don't know what is! :'D

That's very kind of you, I don't practice nearly enough OTL I'm also quite pleased to have found the place! Despite getting around on a number of sites, ever since dA got stale I've not really found myself part of an actual community in an interative sense and this place is fresh and friendly and I have a Pokémon memento of the site in game too which is awesome :"D

I'm a Tailor haha.... ahh I thought it was a great idea at first but somewhat regret, and also realise that a gathering career should have come before a crafting one, but at least the game is forgiving and I'm apparently still able to kill all beasts despite only having very basic weapons? XD I assume the fighting careers will therefore be very easy by the time I get to them.

Yes! I am trying to get through at least a hundred or so fish a day at this point, and I use a counters app on my phone to remember where I'm up to, but it's just so tedious waiting for the fish to bite each time whereas the bugs were at least instant.

I'm also desperately fond of Paper Mario, I'm terrible at side scrollers and traditional stuff like that but Paper Mario is perfect because it's not only adorable to look at but has so much to do and doesn't force the pace. I think I'd have to say that Thousand Year Door is the best one, because once they removed the proper turn based battling and levelling system it felt like the games lost their soul, and especially once they started making you pay per move with an item like in Sticker Star, that felt SO restrictive, totally the opposite of the open nature of the old ones. I'm currently doing a replay through of 64 on wii U and it still holds up better than the new ones do haha and then I'll go back to my replay of Thousand Year Door and try to complete the enemy atlas thing this time!
