One of the concepts of Black and White was Truth vs Ideals. Ideals were the futuristic side of things in the Black and Black 2 games, and the Truth was the peaceful, old side of things in White and White 2. Which world would you prefer to live in, one with truth or one with ideals? I'd pick truth, the truth can hurt but it would be better to be told what you need to know rather than what you want to know.

It's quite ironic that the game that emphasised on ideals was the one that had an ancient Opelucid town, while the one that emphasised the truth had a futuristic one.

Anyway, I chose white to get Zekrom, and I felt more at home with the idea of ideals that capitalised in that game. There are some things that you don't want to hear, and I'd rather live in a world that focused on a better tomorrow than one that voiced every wrong that occurs. There is no real reason to say that knowing the truth every time will be for everyone's benefit, and even a good deed made through false words is still a good deed.

I think I would have truth. Things seemed quite peaceful. Plus I'd rather have the truth be told to me rather than not.

Frankly, I think you can't have one without the other. Yes, a bright outlook to the future is important, but you also need to embrace the past and bring a bit of it with you as you progress. Therefore, you'd need to strive for your ideal while holding on to the truth of your ideal. To be, they're inseparable.

With that philosophical rant aside, I really can't decide... I liked the atmosphere of White and White 2, though I don't think Black and Black 2 would be all that different.

I think I would pick the world of ideals.
because the truth can break you down in so many ways.
I always followed my ideals so it fits me the best

Ill take Ideals because the truth can hurt and some people don't believe its the truth because they cant accept it.

truth to me is much stronger than ideals, in more ways than just the Pokémon world. if we hide behind ideals without knowing the truth, then behind the scenes things could be happening that cater to someone elses ideals who aren't just your own - aka one persons ideals may be to destroy the world for an extreme example. then where would we be? better to see the truth and live with it then to hide behind lies.

    *claps* Well said indeed, Zeta.

Now for my personal choice. I pick Black/B2. I perfer lively places to a quiet life, so higher tech and a city of lights is far more appealing than a quiet old town and rural areas

I feel that ideals make a person who they are. Truth, anyone could tell you the truth. Ideals, however, fade you into another's mind, they allow to see who they are in their heart. We're all different not because of the truth, but because of our different ways of thinking and our individual beliefs. Without ideals, we'd be zombies, people who all think alike. And as a very creatively-inspired person, that terrifies me.

Well, the idea of Yin and Yang is that neither exists without the other, which is definitely a fact. However, if one had to be eliminated I would choose truth over ideals. I don't think it's quite your ideals that make you who you are, but rather emotion and will power. If no one were to ever tell the truth you wouldn't be able to trust a soul, and it would make communication a thing of the past.
