Hi Pokefans!

Long-time Pokémon fan here. New to this site. I've been a fan since I picked my Charmander, Mac, in Pokémon Blue back in 1996.

I was big into the game in Gen 1 and 2, then skipped gen 3 and got back in in gen 4 where I learned about the competitive stats we all know and IV EV love.

Life happened and I wasn't really able to get back in till Sun and Moon. I just finished the story and am trying to get the proper items for EV training and trying to breed some good Pokémon.

I was a huge fan of the early anime, and still love Ash, Brock, and Misty to this day. I am sad that we haven't been able to see them together for so long. Pokeshipper represent.

I loved the new game. It was serious enough to hold my attention, but had a lot of subtle humor that made me laugh.

Hau was by far my favorite. I felt so bad beating him down so many times because he's basically the nicest guy I've ever seen in Pokémon. He also is endearing with his little crush on Lillie. Poor guy reminds me of myself when i was younger, haha.

I like gaming in general. I've played a lot of Overwatch in the last few months on XBox, and I'm putting together a new gaming pc. I have kids and a wife so there's a lot of family stuff in my hobbies list too. I'm trying to get my daughter into Pokémon. I made her watch the OS anime on Netflix and she seemed to like it (Pikachu, Charmander, and Misty were her favorites).

Dragon Ball Super also has me psyched, especially with the English dub starting up. I wish i had more time for more anime, but there are only so many hours in a day.

Also a big Chiefs fan.

I agree actually. I don't know that much about Serena, since I haven't watched the XYZ arc. From what I've seen I would think I'd like her character. I just disagree with the direction the writers took her in (I disagree with a lot they've done for a long time though, not just XYZ). I wish there was more to her backstory than just having a never-ending crush on Ash.

Yeah pretty much. I love that it's familiar, but also fresh. It's unmistakably Pokémon, but there's enough new content to make it feel fresh and new. The updated graphics are great. I love the facial expressions and the dimension those add to the game.

Really the only thing I'm disappointed about is how a large portion of the community has seemingly embraced the hacking software out there that basically makes anything you do in the game a waste. I don't get the point of hacking personally. I feel like it'd take all the fun out of the experience. OK you can pub stomp noobs online with the perfect shiny IV team you generated with a hack. Cool story bro. I spent 200 hours at least in Pokémon Platinum breeding and EV training to be somewhat competent online, and I figure I'll spend even more time with Sun/Moon. It makes all the cool giveaways, the in-game items, everything totally useless. What's even worse is the Pokémon Company seems scared to crack down, and I assume it's because the top players use hacked Pokémon. (Sorry I didn't mean to go off on a rant about hackers here, heh)

I do like the Hyper Training addition so you can use Pokémon you like, but may not necessarily be viable in comp without it.
