How I became a Hero

Hello everyone, I have been writing this story and posting it on Fanfiction.net. A while ago someone told me about this site so I decided to share it and update/share the story so with out further ado, here is how I became a Hero. Rated T for Violence and language. Enjoy!

Hilda/White's POV

"Come on Hilda, wake up before the Purrloin steals your Pokémon!" I groan at my mom's excuse of a joke as I realize that she is right and that I am about to be late to me getting my first Pokémon. My 13th birthday was yesterday and the local professor, Professor Juniper is giving me my very first Pokémon between some of the best Pokémon in the region: Snivy, Oshawott, and of Course Tepig. So as I run down and just grab my bag and quick breakfast, I run out of the door only to be bumped by the guy I have kind of have a crush on. More like I love him and I don't know if he feels the same way. I mean they are near the same thing right?
"Oh hey Hilda I was just going to knock but since you are right here I won't bother knocking" Hilbert said nonchalantly not even apologizing at all.
"Why even bother coming if you are going to be a jerk and not apologizing at bumping into me? Oh look at the time I have to get to the lab!" I said as the thought of not getting a starter because of Hilbert becoming clearer.
"What?!?!? Today is your big day? Well don't let me stop you better get going before you miss your chance!" And just like that, his personality has done a total 180 degrees the moment Pokémon is talked about.
"Okay bye Hilbert I MIGHT see you around when you get a Pokémon." I say but of course it's a lie since we both know we will see each other before too long after he gets his first Pokémon. I mean I might become Champion before he even starts his journey. As I walk the path to the professor's lab I realize one thing, I don't even know what starter I am going to get. As I start to think about it, I don't even know what I want for my starter Pokémon. Well if anything I won't get Oshawott since I honestly grew up with them (TV Show) and they are annoying to even look at. So that leaves me with Tepig or Snivy but I can just decide with a coin flip since most things are just luck based.
"Welcome to the Pokémon Lab, I am Professor Juniper..... Oh hey Hilda I was wondering where you were but now that you are here are you ready to get your very first Pokémon?" After she says that she releases three Pokémon, "I am sure you already you know this but the three Pokémon you choose from is: Tepig on your left, Snivy in the middle, and Oshawott on your right. So which will you choose?" As I look at them all closely I know I don't want to choose Oshawott.

[SIZE=18.666666666666664px] [/SIZE][SIZE=18.666666666666664px]2 and a half years. That how it's been since I last saw Hilda. I haven't heard anything since then ,but I assume that she probably about to face the Pokémon League at this moment. But today I finally find out something since it is the day I get my first Pokémon. But it's not just me getting my Pokémon. My two best friends, Cheren and Bianca are getting their first Pokémon today too. I have the package with the three Pokémon at my house cause of .... reasons. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px] [/SIZE][SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Come on Cheren, I bet Hilbert is dying to open the package and start his journey" Funny I can hear Bianca all the way from her house. Well I think the quiet morning helped her voice create a echo. A couple of minutes later I hear the opening of my door and the clumsy nature of Bianca as she trips over her own feet and almost falls but Cheren is there just to grab her hand so she doesn't fall. [SIZE=18.666666666666664px] [/SIZE][SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Bianca you should be more careful because you might not have me around next time you fall." And with that Cheren finally releases his hand from the red faced Bianca. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Hi Hilbert, are you ready to finally start your journey and collect the gym badges?" He asked me with a grin that he doesn't normally use.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Of course Cheren I am ready to start it I mean I have been ready for about 2 years now."[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Well I guess it is now time to choose" As Cheren reaches for the box, Bianca slaps his hand away.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"It's Hilbert's place so he gets to choose first. It's only fair if we allow him to go first" Bianca said scolding Cheren like he was a little kid. As I reached for the package I don't know what Pokémon I even want but I know I want the grass starter before I even check any other Pokémon since I have always had a soft spot for grass type Pokémon. The second I opened the Package I see three balls and three Pokédex each with the color corresponding to the starter. So I pick up the ball with Snivy and my green Pokédex. The second I grab both I barely turn and Bianca is already running across the room to get her starter. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Let's see which Pokémon this is!" She then throws the Pokéball in the air and out pops Oshawott, the water type Pokémon. "Not what I had in mind but I can make due with what I have."[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Look at the options I have" Cheren exclaims sarcastically. "I wanted this Pokémon anyways so I won't complain."[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"You know what this means right we have our first Pokémon now right? It's time to battle! Cheren I challenge you to a battle!" Bianca yells for the entire neighborhood to hear.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"What? Why can't you challenge Hilbert instead of me?" If I would have stayed, I could have seen how the battle went but I decided to leave to thank Professor Juniper for the Pokémon.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Wait Hilbert!!!" It seems like Cheren and Bianca didn't have that battle and caught up with me. "Why don't we all register each other Pokémon in the Pokédex so it can be somewhat complete?"[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Sound good Bianca." Cheren says as he sent out his Tepig and pulled out his Pokédex. I sent out Snovy and started by scanning my own Pokémon. "[/SIZE][SIZE=18.666666666666664px]Snivy the Grass Snake Pokémon. It is very intelligent and calm. Being exposed to lots of sunlight will make its movement swifter." [/SIZE][SIZE=18.666666666666664px]As I was told the Pokédex entry I knew that I had chosen right with this Pokémon. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Oh do my Pokémon now, I bet mine will have an amazing Pokédex entry" Bianca excitedly said.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Okay Bianca." I held up my Pokédex to the little water type. "[/SIZE][SIZE=18.666666666666664px]Oshawott the Sea Otter Pokémon. It fights using the Scalchop on its stomach. In response to an attack, it retaliates immediately by slashing." [/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"....... Okay now all that's left to scan is my Tepig." Cheren said.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"On it Cheren." I held my Pokédex to the little pig. "[/SIZE][SIZE=18.666666666666664px]Tepig the Fire Pig Pokémon. It can deftly dodge its foe's attacks while shooting fireballs from its nose. It roasts berries before it eats them." [/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"So it can attack good and has to have roasted berries? This is most interesting" Cheren said while writing notes down in his notebook.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Anyways let's get going to Professor Juniper's lab. I kind of want to thank her for the Pokémon she gave us." Bianca said. "Last one there is a Garbodor" she yelled as she started to run.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=18.666666666666664px]"Hey wait up!" Me and Cheren both say as we run after Bianca to the Professor's lab. [/SIZE]
