I write fanfictions on fanfiction.net and I am susceptible to burnout but I've been getting better about that. Still, I rarely finish my fanfictions. Anyway, recently, I have made a new fiction called The Aether Foundation Rescue Scrapbook which is basically about trainer Moon as a rescue worker in her adult life. There are two pairings in the story but, they're not the main focus. However, they do add more to the story by including some major personal events for Moon and her friends. Anyway, this story is meant to be so that if I ever get burnt out on it, I can be done with it at anytime. Each chapter is about a rescue case Moon takes on and each of them is inspired by a story of an animal rescue I'd see on TV or online. Each chapter is basically a story. Kind of like a oneshot. It won't leave you hanging with a cliffhanger or anything like that.

Anyway, enough of that infomercial, what I'm really here for is:
    1. A way to combat burnout
    2. To know if there is a way I can share my fanfictions because I think this one could be a good one. A strong following also might help me find the motivation.
    3. Share some rescue ideas with me. Hope for Paws and Viktor Larkhill on youtube have inspired some ideas as well as Animal Cops on tv.

If you're curious about the story I'm talking about, here's a link.

Note: I know that I have some typos but I can't catch all of them. It's readable, I promise.

    Hi, Gemtail.

    1. Sometimes to combat burnout, you must simply take a break. Writer's block is a common thing that happens to writer's, even veterans. If you still want to try to write, I would try putting yourself in your world. Think about the world's happenings and how things carry out naturally according to the laws of said world. Basically, take some time for reflection and meditation.

    2. You can post your fic here for sure, but don't expect a huge amount of people to slobber all over it. There are many many topics in the Literature Library that consist of people updating their fics and that's it. You must find the motivation mostly in yourself and if this project is really something you wish to invest love and time into.

    3. Something very perilous would be great. Those situations are always emotional and can invest the readers greatly, especially in the rescuer who would go through a heavy trial to save a life.

I agree with the suggestions above, although I understand what you mean about a following helping you to get the motivation to keep going. I don't personally know about fiction, only being an artist, but I believe it might be quite hard to develop followings for writing, even more so than other things, so it might take time.

If you'd like anything proof read, I can do so though (well, whilst I'm on holidays at least), my background in non-fiction is still useful for that much at least :'D
