Spoiler To start off with - teenaged (14-17 age range, probably near the lower end of that) Ash and Misty, reunited for adventures in a future series! A lot of older Misty art gives her the hairdo she sported in the Gen. II games. I like that look, but the ponytail is so iconic. I tried to split the difference here. The outfit is a modified version of what she wore in that mysterious footage from the first film's trailer. I obviously wasn't very creative with the pose - you probably know the publicity art I used as a reference. With Ash - this was a tough one, because I honestly don't think the show's e OS designers have ever topped his first look. It doesn't help the later designs that the OS was the only one to give Ash an open vest. An open outer layer is fantastic for character design - it can catch breezes and blow behind the character to emphasize drama, it can be shed to emphasize heat, exhaustion, determination, etc. So obviously, I added that back in, a bit longer for more effect. And I brought back the Pokémon League hat, as it's the only one I can ever picture for him, but with the colors moved around a bit. That was the policy on all color choices with him - use the shades he wore in the OS, but rearrange them.
