The Pokémon games have some excellent music, but which track is your favourite? Discuss below! For me, it was hard to decide on just one, but I did make a list that divides the music by Generation (remakes are counted as being part of that game's generation, not the generation they released in) Gen 1 - Blue's Encounter Theme Gen 2 - Rocket HQ/Sinjoh Ruins Gen 3 - Wally's 2nd theme/All of the music revolving around Zinnia/Frontier Brain theme Gen 4 - Cynthia's theme/Mt. Coronet Gen 5 - Relic Song/PWT Gen 6 - KISEKI/Successor Korrina (Gym Leader theme remix) Gen 7 - All of it, I don't hate one single piece of the Gen 7 soundtrack, but Team Skull-, Aether Foundation- and Lillie-related themes are the top choices here If I had to pick a definitive favourite, it'd be Cynthia's theme, both the intro and the actual battle theme. Pokémon Pearl was the first Pokémon game I owned, so I'm very attached to the Sinnoh region. Cynthia's theme just reminds me of my childhood, and I often find myself humming it at random!
I definitely like Zinnia's battle theme. It especially goes well with her roster of dragons while you have a newly obtained Mega Rayquaza to completely demolish them. One of my favorite moments ever in OR/AS~ The music in Sun and Moon is all amazing as well. Gladion's battle theme and Lillie's themes take the cake for me though. Word's cannot expression how awesome they sound in contrast to each other.
Yes, yes, YES! Gladion's theme! I am not embarrassed to say I have binged on it so much I find myself humming it daily. And now all my friends know it too #MissingNo
Although I've only played games from Generations I, II, VI (including the Hoenn remakes that would fall under the Generation III category), and VII (not very much), there are a few music cues from the earlier games that I really love. Among them: Red/Blue/Yellow: Route 3 (I was so hooked on it when I first heard it when playing Yellow during the Y2K transition, I even held up my Game Boy Color up to my ear to listen closely to it-I'm not kidding on this either!), Gym Leader Battle Gold/Silver/Crystal: Route 29 (listening to this one really felt like you were in a new beginning), Victory Road, Kanto Route 1 (though I probably shoudn't include that last one, the remade Route 1 cue gave me the feeling that I was finally returning home.) Ruby/Sapphire (though I only played the Generation VI remake Alpha Sapphire): Petalburg City (so serene), Slateport City I haven't played the Kalos and Alola games enough to get their music cues stuck in my head, not to mention their music didn't seem to be all that memorable to me. Obviously I can't say anything about Generations IV and V since I never played those.
I'm a huge fan of Pokémon music too! From both the video games and the anime. Heck, even the Pokémon Go! map theme (original) is pretty fun.
