    OH NO! Another nuzlocke! XD

Okay guys, this is my first nuzlocke, so good luck to me.

    [3d='mudkip']IllusionFox's Emerald Nuzlocke![3d='mudkip']

First I will have to lay down the natural ground rules:

    1. I can only catch the first Pokémon in each area.
    2. If a Pokémon faints, it ded. Send it to the PC.
    3. 2 Pokémon Center heals per Gym city. One for non Gym cities.
    4. All Pokémon must be nicknamed UPON capture.
    5. If all my Pokémon faint, I lost the nuzlocke.
    6. My starter will be chosen by the last digit of my Trainer ID: 0-3 Treecko, 4-6 Torchic, 7-9 Mudkip.
    7. No legendaries.

I think that's about it, so soon I will post my first part of my Emerald nuzlocke!

    CHAPTER ONE: GrindFest!

So, starting out my Nuzlocke, I went ahead and fixed the text speed to make it go faster. And after settling in and talking to Mom and May and that, I checked my Trainer ID! And the final digit was a 7, so my starter is MUDKIP!

I proved this true when I saw Prof. Birch being chased around by a Zigzagoon. Automatically picked Mudkip, and battled that Tinyracoon Pokémon. I won that easily, and I was taken to his Lab, where I faithfully nicknamed Mudkip "Fin". Because why not. I also found that Fin is a guy, and that he had the Relaxed nature (an average nature).

After that, I ran off l to Route 103, where I battled May and her Treecko. Boy did I almost lose. 4/22 HP left. It was terrifying, but I beat her. Afterwards we went BACK to the Lab where I got something I can't remember and some POKE BALLS!

    So NUZLOCKE START!

Going back to Route 101, my first encounter is... Poochyena! I caught the feisty little guy and nicknamed him "Shadow", because he was a cool Shadow Pokémon in my playthrough of Gale of Darkness. A Docile Nature, so no extra Nature values.

I ran over to Route 103 just to catch someone, which was a Zigzagoon! Yay! Caught him and nicknamed him "Rocket", because of Rocket Racoon from Guardians of the Galaxy. He is now my designated HMS (HM Slave).

Healed up after an insane amount of grinding in Odale Town (and stocking up on Potions), and went to Route 104. First encounter was Wurmple. I caught it without much difficulty, and nicknamed it "Wormtail" after that guy in Harry Potter (whom I believe will not do me much in this Nuzlocke). Still, it is on the team, and whether it will evolve into a Beautifly or Dustox will be unknown.

After grinding EVEN MORE, I feel proud of my team. Fin is definitely the strongest in my team, followed by Shadow. I had a moment when Rocket was almost ded by a crit hit by a Wurmple (no less), but luckily that didn't happen to my precious HMS.

After grinding I went to Petalburg, where I bought an extra Potion, and met up with Dad and Wally. Followed Wally around like a stalker and watched him catch a Ralts (who I wish I had). Ran back to Petalburg, more of that, and learned about Roxanne (whom I will easily beat with Fin). After that, I'll probably take a break.

    CHAPTER TWO: The First Gym!

I forgot to mention a few things in the last chapter. My character name is ILLUSIN, and that my level 6 Rocket has the Pickup ability. Free items anyone?

So first off, I went towards Route 104, where my first Pokémon encounter was... Tailow. Cool I guess. I mean, Flying type coverage, and I can use Fly once I get to it... I nicknamed her "Indigo", because of her main color.

I went ahead and stuffed Wormtail in the PC box, at least until I can use him at a more reliable date (Tate and Liza's Gym).

After MORE GRINDING, I went into Petalburg Forest. My first encounter? A Slakoth. Not exactly what I was hoping for, which was a Shroomish, but whatev's. Named it "Slack Off", because that's what it does. I helped a poor helpless man fight off a poorly leveled Poochyena from an Aqua Grunt. The best part about that battle was that Fin evolved into a Marshtomp YAY!!! Here's hoping he does well.

Exiting Petalburg Forest, I get by without much difficulty. I had some worry about the double battle (in which you cannot escape from) because Shadow was not as highly leveled as Fin, but regardless made the battle fairly simple between my two and a Lotad and Seedot (I really wished I got that Seedot. It is fave.).

Walking into Rustoboro, I decide not to use my PKMN Center heal. I walk over to the Trainer School, where the only useful thing I get is a Quick Claw from the teacher. I gave it to Fin, who's Speed stat is lowered by nature.

    Next is the Rock Gym!

Upon entering, I feel slightly happy. I got Fin, who's a level 18 at the time, who'll take care of this for me. The first Gym Trainer was easy enough, but the Double Battle I had accidentally caught myself in made me worry. Once again, Shadow, who had no other moves other than Tackle, was pretty useless in the fight, but nevertheless Fin did most of the work.

    NOW ITS TIME FOR ROXANNE!

    [3d='geodude'][3d='geodude'][3d='nosepass']

First, Roxanne's Geodude against my Fin. Fin got a OHKO on Geodude with Water Gun, making her send out her other Geodude (or rather, "Geodud-ette"). Another OHKO, and onto Nosepass. This Pokémon was pretty stubborn with the Potions, but after a couple of turns I was able to defeat it easily.

So now I won the Gym Battle, and I received my Stone Badge!

YES! This is it guys! I'm doing great! So for right now I'm gonna stop, and hopefully see how things go tomorrow!

    CHAPTER THREE: Awesome Potential

So after Roxanne's Gym fight, I decide to grind. Only this time it's Indigo. And seriously, she is now the strongest on my team. Thanks Level 5 Wurmple spam in Petalburg Forest. You just helped me out a lot. Now I feel much more enthusiastic about her progress on my team!

I stuffed Slack Off into the PC for now, since I already have Rocket. Picked up HM Cut, and went out to Route 116!

My first encounter is... Nincada! YES! I love it's typing, and once I get its Shedinja counterpart (nuzlocke-legal, of course), Ima plan to use it on Daddy Norman Gym Battle. I caught it with a Ultra Ball from Rocket (thanks!), and is now named "Aaron" after the Bug Elite Four user in Sinnoh.

Going into Rusturf Tunnel, I find... Whismur. Huh. I tried to catch it, but got scared after it used Uproar, and ran off before Indigo died. So there that went. Saved Peeko, and and got a letter for Steven. After snatching a free heal from the President, and wishing I could sneak a peek at it, I went to Dewford Town.

I debated on whether I wanted to go ahead and battle the gym or go through Granite Cave. I do the Gym. I had no trouble battling the Fighting Type Pokémon, thanks to Indigo's Wing Attack. And now for Brawly!

    [3d='machop'][3d='meditite'][3d='makuhita']

This battle was super easy. Two OHKOs for Machop and Meditite from Indigo's Wing Attack, and two turns to bring down Makuhita! Because of my (Super not so difficult) victory, I received the Knuckle Badge!

This is going great guys! I'm actually doing pretty well in this nuzlocke, and I hope this luck continues!

Ooh, nice nuzlocke so far! Emerald I found to be hard because you have to really grind for a lot of those bosses, and there are certain bosses that I always get stuck at. However, looks like marshtomp will carry you through Watson.

Definitely try grinding Nincada up! You can get Ninjask--who is fantastic for baton pass setups--and Shedinja--great stall bait.

Shedinja is part of my plan, especially for Norman. Since it's part Ghost, it should be immune to most of Gym's moveset. Marshtomp should help with Flannery too, since hers is Fire.

My Next goal is to try and grind Nincada up, for Shedinja. And as long as things don't go wayward on me, I should be fine!

    CHAPTER FOUR: Uneventful

After the Dewford Gym, I decided to go ahead and go to Granite Cave! My first encounter was a Makuhita, and I caught it easily. Named it "Guts", since it's the Guts Pokémon, and I just now realized that he should be good for most of the opposing Teams and for Norman's Gym.

Gave Steven his special letter, and then headed off to Slateport! After battling all the trainers, I waited in a long line of hilarious meme-worthy quotes from Team Aqua at the Museum (that one guy in the back of the line was my favorite XD). After taking care of them, I gave the boat guy his PARTS and actually... backtracked to Rustboro.

Why you ask? After talking to the Devon Corp. President, I got the EXP SHARE! This should really help leveling up a lot easier for my Pokémon. I gave t to Aaron so then I can get it to evolve asap.

Back in Slateport, I decide to move on. My first encounter for Route 110 is Electrike! After a spam of at least five balls, I caught the electric type and named it "Sparkles". Becuz.

I battled all of the Trainers, and then awaited the one Trainer I dreaded the most on that route: May. In my other playthroughs of Sapphire, I got pretty much screwed by May in that battle. But this time around, I actually won with no deaths, thanks to Indigo and Fin (Indigo evolved during the battle too!). So OFF TO MAUVILLE!

Actually I'm not going to do much except get Rock Smash and an Acro Bike. I'll grind for Wally tomorrow. But I did put Shadow in the PC for now, since I don't want to lose him right now.

Uneventful maybe, but no deaths after May is pretty great! And the EXP share was definitely a wise decision. I totally forgot about that. One thing I gotta say though: Get an x-defense or something to deal with that Voltorb in the Wattson fight, because he does know self-destruct. >.> Alternatively, Shedinja will do fine. I forget, does the move sonic boom go through wonderguard?

I just thought about that Voltorb XD I have plenty of money, so I'll invest in some once I start for today. I'm gonna try to grind Nincada for Shedinja today, and go ahead and try to take care of that Gym. And SonicBoom shouldn't hurt Shedinja because its part Ghost type, and SonicBoom is Normal type.

Perfect! I just looked it up by the way: fixed damage moves don't hit unless they are of a type that is super-effective. i.e. nightshade would hit, but not SonicBoom. So be careful of those illumi-Xatu later in the game. ;)

Thanks for the tips! The Xatu will be dead by the hands of Shadow and Sparkles (b/c I think Xatu's a Psychic/Flying type)! Hopefully I won't lose any members of my team for Wattson's battle, especially now that I have Fin evolved and Shedinja on the way!

And I also want to say that if anyone would like for their name to be a nickname for any Pokémon I might catch, just let me know what it is you'd hope I find and what your name would be (just remember that the name thingy has a limit, which I think is 8 letters)!

OMG I can see the resemblance in the face XD

I'll give the desert place a go as soon as I beat Flannery (cause I think after beating her you get the Goggles in order to get there). Dragon Typing as well (after a while), and should be really helpful once I get to the last Elite Four guy, and Flygon doesn't have many weaknesses (except for Ice, so Ima hate that Ice type Elite Four member now). Ackbar will be a team member for sure!

    CHAPTER FIVE: OMG

So instead of battling Wally like I planned to, I steamrolled through Route 117. Easily beat the Trainers, caught an Oddish nicknamed "Plant", and placed Shadow and Sparkles in the Day Care. They need to be there, and definitely need to level up, since they'll be very important eventually.

Back to MAUVILLE. Bought some stuff, like the X Defense, because of a tip from @[member="Syaoron the Fox"]. A few Super Potions, and I'm readly for Wally.

Whose Ralts got one-shotted by Indigo's Wing Attack.

    So to the gym!

I swiftly defeated the opposing Trainer easily, and now the fight with Wattson!

    [3d='voltorb'][3d='electrike'][3d='magneton'][3d='manectric']

HOLY CRAP. Never have I had such an easy fight against Wattson. Thanks to the Mud Shot Spam from Fin, I OHKOed all of his Pokémon - four turns of easiness. So now I have legally earned his badge.

This thing. Because I can't remember the name of it.

To celebrate, here's more grinding to get Aaron to evolve. I took a pit stop in Verdanturf to see if there was some stuff there for me, and then I ran into these two girls that were torturing me about the Elite Four. "IF YOU LOSE TO ONE OF THEM YOU HAVE TO START ALL THE WAY OVER AGAIN." Thanks a lot :sigh:

Aaaaaaand Aaron evolved, hey! Thank you sir, you may now be shoved into the PC now, Ninjask-Aaron.

So Ima take a break now XD

Sick! Ground-types v. Watson for the win. Now that I think about it, Fin's pretty much gonna sweep Flannery too, huh? :D Wow, considering the types you have to face in all the gyms after this (fire, normal, flying, psychic, water), Swampert has a pretty big advantage. The only real challenges will be those battles with May.

One thing I don't like about RSE is that, pre-waterfall, you can't get one of my favorite Pokémon from the region: Bagon. Which makes sense--it's final form is pseudo-legendary--but still. RIP Bacon.

Oh God now I'm thinking about the battle against her after the whole Weather Institute incident... I hope I don't lose anyone important in that battle...

The rest of today is probably me just going towards Fallabor and doing the stuff there. Maybe try to get to Lavaridge as well.

I don't know if this is a loophole in your rule about heals, but remember that you can rest in the beds at the Weather institute before the battle with May. ;)
