With New Pokémon, New Abilities and New Locations threads, it was a matter of time before someone did this!

What are some new moves you'd like to see?

Personally, I'd like more U-turn/Volt Switch clones, and at least one Roost clone (Counting the fact that it makes the user not be flying type for that turn)

Now, about some new, original moves, I'd like to see more moves with freezing chance, and not only ice types. Maybe there could be like a cockatrice Pokémon that "Freezes" Pokémon with it's glare, kind of like if it petrified them!

Or a trapping move (Kind of like Bind or Wrap) that has a percentage of chance of not letting the foe move, like a temporal paralysis, without the speed drop.

What are your thoughts on some good new moves?

I'd like to see a couple of low-PP moves that completely ignore defense boosts when calculating damage, as if piercing them. Not widely available moves, just a couple that are learned at high levels on certain Pokémon. There are already moves that ignore evasion and speed, so I think this would go along fine with the game.

I would love to see a good solid 95 power Grass move as a TM sorta like Flamethrower,Thundebolt and ice beam. Leaf Blade is a good grass move but its so rare to get it as a move on a Pokémon.

Some type of special rock type move. Ancientpower just doesn't cut it for people like omastar...

I'd like to see a few more moves like Thunderbolt/Flamethrower/Ice Beam. But much easier to find/obtain, of course.

A move that burns up an opponents item would be interesting for competitive play.

Sort of a fire type Knock Off? Heh.

I'd like to see a Soak-type move that changes the target's type too, but with more distribution. Soak wasn't good because only water type Pokémon had it... And Lanturn didn't...

    Edit
I'd also like to see moves that received STAB from certain type, but dealt another type in damage. Like if Scald dealt fire type damage, but water types got STAB from it. Similar idea to Psyshock, really: You are strong in SpA, yet you deal normal attack.

I already posted it in the "make up a move" type of thread a few months ago, but I think X and Y could do with it too. Called Succumb, it is a 50%-60% chance of a one-hit-KO, but ONLY on Pokémon that are Poisoned, Burned, Frozen or Paralyzed. Essentially the user forces the other Pokémon to succumb to their injuries and maladies instantly. I'm thinking it would be a ghost or dark type move. Maybe dark because it would be too OP as something ghost types would learn along with Will-o-wisp.

A very nice idea, it should be learned in the 60's/late 50's stages though, due to the potential power of it.

A move that changes you and your opponents type to a random type could be fun too.
