Something I havnt seen anyone realy talking about past evolutionary items, though its possible I missed it. If so, sorry.

Anyway, I had an idea for a set of bait-like items. If placed on the first Pokémon in the party, they would draw in Pokémon of their assigned type, helping you hunt specific Pokémon.
For example, in an area with Elekid, Pichu, Scyther and Murkrow, 'Thunder Bait' would make Elekid and Pichu pop up alot more often than the others, or 'Wing Bait' would draw in Scyther and Murkrow, etc. Itd assist training weak Pokémon by giving them an advantage, catching shineys by drawing in the type of Pokémon you want, helping build a balanced team if they are available early in the game, etc.

^^ Realy? Thanks! It came to me when I was training my Electabuzz in White 2. It could take down the Golduck in the area easily, but these Seviper kept out speeding him and Garbodor were poisining him repeatedly. I started thinking of how to avoid those poison types and thats what I got :D

That's a great idea, I can see how that would be very helpful.

I was thinking about a type of item that is held by Pokémon that assists in breeding, perhaps some kind of "suppliment" line of items that would increase an offspring's certain IVs when held by the mother to make IV breeding easier, or increase a chance of a shiny by a little bit, but make it take longer to hatch, sort of going on the concept of the baby has more time to develop in the egg.

What? How? Makes sense to me, metal is refined from ore. All of these might be cheesy in a different sort of game but I think they fit the style of Pokémon and Pokémon items quite well.

Region Key! This key allows you to go anywhere any time! Through the game you will notice some houses are locked, but after you beat the champ or the evil team you can get this key and open all of the doors! Inside of these houses there would be rarer items and maybe even trainers who will give you rare Pokémon! I'd love to see this happen.

    Idea :P
    Elemental Pokeballs.
Like, a 'Thunder Ball' Would have a 4x catch rate on electric types, but act like a regular Pokéball on all others. It could be a new Pokéball crafter like Kurt that makes them :D

I'd like that but only if they had nice effects when you throw the ball and the Pokémon comes out. I'd even use them on Pokémon they have 1x catch rate with them if the effect fits, really.

I'd just settle for Pokeballs with different appearances. Or maybe something that lets you make a Pokéball's appearance with basic shapes and colours, perhaps.

I like the idea of special Pokémon finder items, but...what about an item for paralyze/asleep...wild or enemy Pokémon? Like the hypnotoxic laser from the TCG

I was thinking about this scanning type of item with disposable "charges" or what have you. You buy some "charges" (or whatever kind of disposable item deals) at a shop, and in a battle with a wild Pokémon one is consumed if selected from the item menu, and it displays that Pokémon's nature and ability, similar to the Scan spells/items in Final Fantasy games that shows detailed enemy data. Would come in handy when looking for a Pokémon of a specific nature or ability; instead of just capturing a bunch and waiting to see that info, you can check on it during battle with this item.

That would be pretty cool. To be able to customize your own Pokéball.
