Topics I've Started

Carbonated Sugar Water Beverage Naming

10 February 2017 - 04:20 AM

Some people in some places call it pop. Some people in some places call it soda. Maybe some people call it something else entirely. What do you call it?

It's always been 'pop' around here, I've never met anybody from here who called it soda, I'm currently drinking some orange pop, out of the fruit-based flavors I believe it to be the most satisfying. And thread inspiring.

Dusty Art Shop v2

07 February 2017 - 02:52 PM

After some thinking and consulting, I have decided to try this again.

Basic Info

*I will take requests for a drawing of anything acceptable within the Lake Valor rules. Anything you want. It will be drawn traditionally. Colored or not is up to you. I'll interpret your description and draw that if you wish, or you could provide a reference, it's all good.

*There is no set price on the drawings and never will be.  Instead, you may pay me whatever you feel the drawing is worth, no questions asked or reasons necessary, minimum of 1PokePoint.

*Drawings will always be worked on and done in the order requests are received.

*I offer zero guarantees on completion or delivery time, and I encourage you to factor delivery time into the price you choose to pay.

*For now at least, only one drawing request per order. (But you can of course place new orders again and again after one is done)

*Once the drawing is completed and paid for, it's yours and as far as I'm concerned you can do whatever you want with it. If you choose to edit it (for example color it in digitally or add effects) and post it in a public place among other work you have done, I politely ask that you credit both of us. I'll never go around tracking you to ensure I am credited, instead I politely ask that you do this and give you the benefit of the doubt. However, the original is also mine and as the creator I am free to post any of the originals of drawings I make at your request anywhere I choose (portfolio threads, art sharing/portfolio websites, ect) and you agree to that term by ordering.

Samples of things I have drawn can be seen here,

DQVIII on 3DS

20 January 2017 - 05:44 AM

So today (at least in some places) is the release date of the Dragon Quest VIII 3DS remake. I'm excited.

I'm not a huge DQ fan overall, truth be told I find the really old games (like I-IV) very dull, clunky and hard to enjoy where this wasn't the case for other RPG titles from the same era, but I had some great experiences with this game back on PS2 and being able to relive them on the 3DS is going to be sweet. It's been roughly ten years since I played it so I imagine much will feel new again, and there will probably be new content anyway. It's very traditional JRPG and I find that comforting and fun in its own way.  Plan to get it today if my nearest Wal-Mart gets a shipment in; I went over early this morning and they didn't have it, will call them later. Not goin' to EB games specifically because I plan to use a Wal-Mart gift card to pay for a portion of the game.

What are your thoughts on this DQVIII release and DQVIII in general? Will you be getting it?

Here's the trailer from Nintendo

Share Your Current Team From Old Gens

13 January 2017 - 04:13 AM

As with the one for Sun and Moon, let's share our teams if we're playing older Gen games, any from 1 to 6. I just started a playthrough of Blue. I have a team in mind, but in the mean time my team is:

RBY Virtual Console Value

09 January 2017 - 07:43 AM

Have you played one of the Gen 1 virtual console releases? Taxes in it's $13.11 here, is that a good value in your opinion? I've been thinking of getting a copy of Blue, I'm interested in how Pokemon from these games will interact with the bank and Sun and Moon, but I'm not sold on it enough to buy an eshop funds card yet. What do you think, answer poll as well if you please
