For me, it's gotta be Alolan Persian. Like, look at it. LOOK AT ITS FACE Alolan Meowth was fine... but Persian. Ugh. Words cannot express how I hate this thing. This is pretty self-explanatory, right? What's with the hair and how'd it become steel? Is the hair made of steel? Iron? What?!
I don't like Alolan Persian either. I don't mind the concept of it, but DAT FACE THO. It's so fat. And ugly. And I don't like it at all. And Alolan Dugtrio doesn't make sense either. Why did you add hair Game Freak? And Steel typing? This is confusing....
I have to agree with Persian but also Rattata, it seems like a waste of space. They could have made so many cooler Pokémon from it, there are so many ideas online they coulda used but chose to make that.
I wish they'd kept Persian's face the same shape as the normal version's but fanart of round Persian is pretty cute!
I think the biggest flop is alolan raticate. Rattata was actually kind of cool, I thought that the 90's cartoon villan was a fun theme. I could see him on a saturday morning looney tunes style cartoon as like "Rick Rastardly" and his exploits would always fail. Raticate though... well chubby cheeks mcgee was just a disappointment. I actually trained rattata, and then boxed it as soon as it evolved because of the design
I think Alolan Diglett/Dugtrio is my least favourite. Its additional steel typing just gave it even more weaknesses and with an already terrible defence, mine was almost always knocked out in one hit.
No offence but What the Heck Gamefreak? Did a little mole like thingy like Dugtrio and even Digglet need hair?! What the heck is the point of it? And the steel typing sucks cause it can get KOed really easily now.
I gotta say Dugtrio, I really can't get myself to like its Alola form it just looks silly that they only added hair to it when they could have done more like changing its color pallet a little or something like that.
Am I the only one that actually sorta liked Alolan Persain? I think Alolan Raichu bothers me the most. It looked like they tried to make it cutesy with wingy ears and shiny eyes, but it's kind of offputting. While I appreciate Game Freak for finally giving Raichu some love, I just wish they would have gave it a better looking form.
No, you are not the only one. I had an Alolan Persian in the first half of my Sun playthrough that I grew highly attached to.
Alolan Dugtrio definitely has a cringe to it... I just wish it had a better ability to make up for it's poor design.
I'd say Raichu. I like normal Raichu and I'm glad its getting some attention, but I don't like the actual form. Also its weird that Pikachu didn't get a new form, but still evolves into Alolan Raichu the same way it would evolve into normal Raichu (Exeggcute and Exeggutor have the same issue, but I actually prefer Alolan Exeggcutor over its normal form).
I like Alolan Sandslash the least. It seemed really redundant, considering that there was already a much better Alolan Ice type in Vulpix. I actually like Alolan Persian. The cheeks threw me off at first, but they slowly grew on me. Now it's one of my favorite Pokémon. I can't really say why; it just is. *Sigh* We should've gotten Alolan Arcanine or Kecleon instead.
Alolan Ratatta Line, its just Fat version honesty and they just should have made normal version Normal/Dark IMO
It's Alolan Raticate for me too. It's just a fatter normal Raticate but in a darker shade. I used to like Alolan Persian the least, but once you get over the roundness then it's not actually that bad.
Alolan Muk takes the "worst Alolan form" cake for me. I mean, a multi-colored pile of toxic goop? I'll pass on that one, even if it's main purpose is to make Psychic attacks useless (due to being part-Dark).
I like Alolan Persian. It's adorable. There. I said it. Raticate is just so ridiculous I can't hate it. The one I DON'T like is Dugtrio. For an Alolan form that was in the demo/caused so much hype...well, let's just say it wasn't good hype. Here comes the rant. Spoiler: Rant. Hair. On a potato. Do you know what's wrong with this? 1) Potatoes don't need hair. 2) Seriously, they just really don't need hair. 3) If potatoes DO have hair, it shouldn't be Dugtrio's hair. You know what I see whenever I look at it's three bland faces? I see Sasha Blouse trying to eat a potato. But the potato has hair, so she can't eat it. There, Game Freak. You've messed up SO BADLY, not even potato girl is a fan of this Dugtrio anymore. THAT is when you know you've made a mistake. And the hair looks like Armin Arlert's hair! But curly! Is Dugtrio just an AOT tribute or something? Because if so, this is NOT the way to pull it off! From these eloquent points, we come to realize that Sir Armin-Curly-Hair-Sasha-Won't-Eat-It-Failed-AOT-Tribute is clearly the worst. #MissingNo
Poor Alolan Persian lol ;_; Alolan Meowth is miles better, but I feel bad for all the hate Alolan Persian seems to get haha. And I actually.. don't really dislike any of them? Used to think Alolan Grimer and Muk were silly but the rainbow oil spill is a pretty cool concept and the animation looks neat in the games. If I had to pick a least favorite though, maybe Golem's Alola form?
