Man, we seem to be getting trailers left and right lately! Let's break this one down, shall we?

To start, we finally get the official reveal of Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma's rypes and abilities. Dusk Mane Necrozma is a Psychic/Steel type, with the ability Prism Armour. Dawn Wings Necrozma is a Psychic/Ghost type, with the ability Prism Armour. For those who don't know, Prism Armour is an ability previously exclusive to Necrozma, and it has the same effect as Solid Rock - it makes a super-effective attacks do 25% less damage.

Next, we learn that both forms of Necrozma (and presumably Necrozma in its original form, although this is unconfirmed) can use the new move Photon Gyser. It's a Psychic type attack with an unknown Base Power, PP count and Category. It's effect, however, is known, and it's pretty good. Photon Gyser will check the stat number of the user's Attack and Special Attack, and use the higher number when calculating damage. This makes it a useful move for both forms of Necrozma, as Dusk Mane Necrozma likely has high Attack like Solgaleo, while Dawn Wings Necrozma likely has high Special Attack like Lunala.

Moving on, we finally get to see the reveal of the Z-Moves for Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma. (Note that, although it wasn't shown in the trailer, Solgaleo and Lunala can use these moves too, according to the CoroCoro scan from a few days before this trailer.) Dusk Mane Necrozma's Z-Move is called "Searing Sunraze Smash", and is a Steel type atack that powers up from Sunsteel Strike. Dawn Wings Necrozma's Z-Move is called "Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom", and is a Ghost type attack that powers up from Moongeist Beam. Both Z-Moves ignore the effect of the target's ability when doing damage. The examples shown in the trailer are Gigalith taking enough damage from Searing Sunraze Smash to knock it out, despite having Sturdy (although it can have other abilities, so this may be false), and Mimikyu taking damage from Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom, despite having its Disguise still active.

Finally, we see the introduction of the RotomDex bonding feature, which was hinted at in the CoroCoro magazine scans that surface a few days before this trailer aired. In it, we see that the RotomDex is still ever-present on the touch screen, but he's undergone a slight re-design with his sprite, and now has more animations and facial expessions. On top of this, you can now directly interact with RotomDex, answering questions it asks you by touching the prompts given on the touch screen. Raising your bond with Rotom like this allows for you to use many of its new powers. One of these is the Roto Loto, which allows the player to receive a random item from Rotom. These items act like Entree/Pass/O Powers from past games, giving a boost to various activies a Trainer can perform. Examples we're given in the trailer are "Roto Hatch", which shortens the amount of time it takes to hatch eggs, "Roto Bargain", which makes the Poké Mart's buying prices lower, "Roto Prize Money", which increases the amount of Prize Money a Trainer earns after battle, "Roto Exp. Points", which increases the amount of Exp. Points a Trainer earns after battle, "Roto Friendship", which increases the amount of Friendship a Pokémon gains after doing certain tasks, "Roto Encounter", which raises the wild encounter rate, "Roto Stealth", which losers the wild encounter rate, and finally "Roto HP Restore", which restores a bit of HP to the Trainer's Pokémon. There was also a Roto Loto item that increased the catch rate of a Pokémon, shown in the Japanese trailer.

Another feature of the RotomDex is that it now has Z-Power as a function, known as Z-Rotom Power. This allows the Trainer to call Rotom in to battle, and have them boost the player's Z-Power, which then allows the player to perform a Z-move twice in one turn. In both the English and Japanese trailer, this was shown to only come into effect during battles against NPCs, so it's unlikely that Z-Rotom Power will be a mechanic used in battles with other players, as well as battles in facilities such as the Battle Royal Dome and Battle Tree.

And that's it for this trailer! As a final note, it was confirmed for Japan that pre-loads for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon begin on November 2nd, with the rest of the world's dates still unknown. However, do note that pre-loads can and have been data-mined before, so stay aware from that day onwards. Feel free to discuss all this news below, and as always, this has been Pixel, bringing you the latest in Pokémon news. I'll see you all next time ~☆

Those Z-Moves are freaking crazy though. Sending an opponent into Ultra Space, then pretty much sets them alight with their power? Talk about overkill. XD

Slight note: Prism armor works like Mega Aggron's Filter, 3/4th damage from super effective moves no matter the amount of HP.

The fact that it can deal damage to a Mimikyu with it's Disguise still active is pretty impressive. I wonder if any other Z-moves will be like that *cough Gen 4 remakes*.
I gotta say, all I thought of when I heard of 'Rotom bonding' was those freaky Furbies...*shudders* Hopefully it's not as creepy. Don't ruin my Rotom! It also kind of reminds me of that one piece of text you can get from Rotom saying that 'Are you sure there's no Z-crystal for me? I've thought up lots of cool Z-moves' or something.

It damaged Mimikyu with it's disguise because it ignores abilities, same reason why Gigaliths Sturdy didn't activate either. This is probably due to the moves they use as a base, Sunsteel Stike and Moongeist Beam ignore abilities as well so it wouldn't make sense if powering them up with Z power wouldn't do the same. I don't know if any other Z moves will do that but any Z move will if used by a Pokémon with Mold Breaker.

That aside, I thought of that quote too when I heard about that.

They are really amazingly animated and thought about, but they are also very long moves. As much as I love these moves, I can not see me using them very often. That is a really neat trick with the rotomdex though!
