In a parallel world to this one, the gods didn't cease to exist and are still watching over mankind, trying to help them survive in a world that is more dangerous than our own. Mythical creatures like dragons, hydras, cerberi, are still roaming the lands and seas creating trouble for mankind. This year a new threat arrived. Or rather an old threat returned after thousands of years of hibernations. The Black Phoenix. The Black Phoenix is unstoppable, unkillable, and devastating the lands with its sheer presence. Natural disasters follow in its wake and the gods are unable to do anything about it. Only a specific kind of magic is able to seal the void beast away again. However, it can only be used by those with human blood and during the hibernation, a new generation of gods took on the mantle and they never discovered where the magic was hidden away to prevent power-hungry humans from using it for evil. A few gods tried to combat the Black Phoenix but were unable to damage it worse than a mere scratch on its magnificent body. They were slowly giving up hope, until Athena, who in a desperate bid to protect their world, scoured her archives and found a scroll describing the sealing magic, but not its location. The longer the Black Phoenix is around, the weaker the gods felt and they needed to take drastic measures to ensure the safety of the world as they knew it. You are an unsuspecting human teenager, who was suddenly taken away from all you have known and dropped into what could only be the hall of the Gods themselves. Then you are told that you have the blood of a god flowing in your veins and you are one of the few that can save the world from the Black Phoenix. Sign up sheet Try to not overlap on traits or use the same godly parents as someone else, please. We are using the Greek gods/goddess for this RP. She loves to dance and sing to known songs and plays the harp whenever she can. She is known to protect those that need it. With her kind and gentle demeanor and the fact she never gives up at what she is trying to do, she inspires hope in people to never give up. She is very active, always dancing in the halls, and going gymnastics to keep her body flexible. Seeing as they both expressed interest in this RP, I am reserving Zeus and Thanatos for them, if they decide not to go through with it, I will open them up again.
I would love to join this! It's glorious! Spoiler: -Iliad- Name: Iliad Hyacinth Age (16-18): 18 Gender: Male Personality: Iliad had grown up as a recluse inside of his home, his mother having deluded herself that his father (Apollo) would return to her if she were to 'hide' his child from the sun's rays. However, on a certain bright summer's day, Iliad managed to escape the birdcage of his maternal house and ran off, never to return. Oh, how great the gentle sun's rays felt on his face and skin! After living as a homeless person on the streets for a few days, he was found by an orphanage where he would be raised and received all the necessary education for growing up to become a stable adult. While practising one of the instruments in the orphanage, Iliad discovered the joys that music held and how its sound could move people to dance, to smiles and to tears. Due to his upbringing in the orphanage, Iliad has grown to become a very kind, active and warm person who adores writing poetry and composing music (yet is very shy about his inability to sing well, but shhhhh that's a secret x3 ). In fact, Iliad only fights directly in two situations, the first of which being provocation. His temper isn't short by any means but, as they say, "even Buddha may grow upset if his face is hit three times". The second being an explicit request to fight by his close friends or those whom he considers family. When he does fight, Iliad usually takes the role of a long distance fighter or as support, using bow and arrow with an accuracy equal to that of his father and aunt in combination with his newfound abilities. Description: With a height of 5'11", Iliad has a lithe build. His physical strength is quite average; though significantly greater than any ordinary human, Iliad can't compare to the heavier among the demi-gods. Instead, Iliad's forte lies in his dexterity and speed; reloading arrows in the blink of an eye or dodging swords at a hair's breadth. Naturally, the bow and arrow are, quite like his father and aunt before him, his weapons of choice. However, Iliad doesn't shy away from the use of a short-sword when the situation requires close combat. Godly parent: Apollo Domains of the demigod (must have one trait from their godly parent, like seas from Poseidon, or war from Ares and one personality trait, like Justice, or Mercy. 4 Traits max!): The Sun Music Healing Joy Favoured animals (Like Athena's Owl, Artemis' dogs, Apollo's swans, etc. Regular animals only): Swan Symbol (Zeus' lightning bolt, Poseidon's trident): His father's Solar Chariot
Woo! It's good to finally see this up after so much work xD Spoiler: Danaus Name: Danaus (pronounced Da-nay-us) Andreas Age (16-18): 18 Gender: Male Personality: Like his father, at least his father before his ascension to King, Danaus carries the necessary traits of a typical hero. The courage and will to go forward with his goal shine through with each action, but for all this he lacks one key trait. Vision. Danaus has no real vision beyond stopping that which seeks to tear the world apart, afterwards he has no plans for how he would spend the rest of his time as a God, thus he dreads the final ascension. Despite his father formerly being the King of the Gods, Danaus cannot consider himself worthy of such a position hence his innate fear of what comes after the fateful battle with the Black Phoenix. In battle, Danaus wields his spear like a master, his fighting style involving the use of his spear and his newly awakened powers in tandem. Outside of the battle though, he is incredibly thoughtful, but he wields a powerful temper, something that has grown more dangerous with his powers. Unlike his father though, who’s greed and lust for power led to him becoming paranoid and distrustful of his own family, Danaus represents his symbolic animal, the Eagle, through his display of loyalty to those he fights with. Description: Stands at 6’0 with a warrior’s build. His body has been built for power, not speed, so despite still having a higher than average speed thanks to his divine genes, Danaus is possibly one of the slowest at moving within the new generation of Gods. Godly parent: Zeus Domains of the demigod: Thunder/Lightning, Heroes and Courage Favoured animals (Like Athena's Owl, Artemis' dogs, Apollo's swans, etc): Eagle Symbol (Zeus' lightning bolt, Poseidon's trident): A chipped spear – represents harsh battles
I would like to join this, but it's your choice. Spoiler: Character Name: Nyke González Age (16-18): 16 Gender: Male Personality: To the eyes of others, Nyke was always a weird guy. He would usually stay distant from people he's not very familiar with. To most people, he seems 'cold' and 'emotionless', but in reality, he just has trouble expressing himself. He is known to harm others who have wronged his friends, and is very agile. Description: Nyke, is a 5‘5'', pale individual who usually wears dark clothing to cover up his pale skin. He has short black hair and dark brown eyes. Godly parent: Hades Domains of the demigod (must have one trait from their godly parent, like seas from Poseidon, or war from Ares and one personality trait, like Justice, or Mercy. 4 Traits max!): Darkness, Mercy, Sorcery. Favored animals (Like Athena's Owl, Artemis' dogs, Apollo's swans, etc. Regular animals only): Black ravens Symbol (Zeus' lightning bolt, Poseidon's trident): Scythe If anything needs to change, just say the word.
Looks interesting. Let's take a crack at this... (Info about Boreas was taken shamelessly from Wikipedia after checking it against other sources. There's not a tremendous amount to go off of, unfortunately) Spoiler: Benedict "Ben" Frost Name: Benedict "Ben" Frost Age (16-18): 17 Gender: Male Personality: Ben exudes confidence and pride, a consequence of his success in track and field. He think himself as the best at what he does, that his way is the right way to do things, and if someone disagrees with him, he's more than happy to give him a piece of his mind. He inherits some of his divine father's legendary temper, but he's learned over the years to keep it in check. Despite these things, he's amiable enough with people he knows. Description: (Something like this...) Like the winds themselves, Ben is built for speed. He has just enough muscle to give him the agility he needs without encumbering his movements. His physical strength, while not nearly as impressive, is slightly above average, even for demigods. While using his newfound powers, the tips of his hair become covered with frost. His weapon of choice is a staff, and while he's skilled enough with it to hold his own in combat, he prefers to disorient his opponents with blistering movements before striking. Godly Parent: Boreas Domains of the Demigod: Wind, Confidence, Athleticism Favored Animals: Horse Symbol: Compass
Oh my god all I can think about is Percy Jackson now. I'm not joining because I'm not the best RPer, but I might read.
Still a no. Sorury, Hraesvelgr already has the Death domain as his god is Thanatos. I need you to change that before I let you join. I am hesitant to allow a character with more than one element under his belt. Also fierce temper sounds a bit weird, maybe the god of Wrath would be better?
I have changed 'Death' as a domain, and changed it for 'Suffering' (you know, since everyone is constantly suffering in the underworld.) If it's not good enough, than just tell me what needs to be changed.
It needs to be something that is is actually a god of. Like the Underworld, The Earth, Darkness, Fertility, Riches, Metals, etc. He is not the god of suffering. Silent is a weird thing to be a god of and perhaps it is better to state he is the god of Mercy, as the lack of Mercy is still merciless, only sounds better.
OK, I'll take off the Ice element and focus on Wind. The reason I put Temper on there is because the application says the character needs a personality trait of their parent god. The only bit of personality I could find on Boreas is that he has a "violent temper". I can change it to something like Cold, since Boreas is said to bring winter, and I can adjust Ben's personality to match.
Ah, the personality trait doesn’t have to be from their godly parent, whoops. Only a trait/domain they inherit from their parent, like Rayne’s is Fire from Hephaustes. The Hope part stems from her, as she is a good listener and insprires people to not give up hope, even as a human. The personality trait is something they embody, like if the person has a strong sense of justice and stands up for those that need it, his domain would be Justice. I hope that this clarifies it a bit.
Thanks for clearing that up for me, I kind of misunderstood the context of that part of the character sheet. I've fixed it now, is it okay now?
