So I said in my intro post that I'd make an art thread, and here it is! I've been drawing since the age of 3 and am completely self taught. I mostly draw animals, dragons, and creepy monster designs of my own, but will occasionally draw Pokémon and Fakemon as well (though I've been doing that lesser over the years). I'm not very confident in my skills, and I feel like my shading and anatomy is mediocre compared to other artists, and I cant seem to stick with any particular style, but I hope they arn't too bad. Haha Anyways, onto the art! First up here are some Fakemon designs of mine, including finished artworks and sketches. I'll also show of some of my mega evolution designs I done years ago (you may have seen some of them floating around the web. They got kinda popular when I was on deviantart as ShardtheRaikou98/Pyroaura98) Spoiler Some random Pokémon arts I've done over the years. Spoiler Lastly, some non-Pokémon art. Spoiler
Omg These are so coooool If you were still on dA I’d follow you for sure *o* At least I can follow this thread <3 <3 <3 Are you gonna open a shop in the Market? (If yes, ping me when you do!)
Thanks guys ^^ Unfortunately I won't be opening a shop, since I never do drawing requests. I get way to overwhelmed with that sort of stuff. So sorry about that Thanks for the friend request though!
I'm not gonna lie. I almost never visit art threads cause I'm not much of an art thpe of guy. But everything you've made, looks great, especially the fakemons. I'll be sure to follow this thread.
You should have more confidence in your skills, these are amazing! And might I say that your Fakemon designs are really good
Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone ^^ I'm glad that even though I have mixed feelings on my art, you all enjoy it. And I'm glad people like my Fakemon. My Fakemon designs are one of the things I'm most critical about when drawing, because often times I feel like they don't look real enough. Since you guys like them, I'm gonna show some fakemon sketches/concept arts that I've never shown anyone else before. Consider this my gift to the forums ^^ These three sketches are very rough, but they show of the evolutions to the starters I showed in my first post (Frogler (who's evos have already been shown), Lamblit, and Splizard). Lamblit evolves into Vikeep, and then into Barbariam, who are both Fire/Ice types. Splizard evolves into Basilectrik, and then into Voltilisk, both Water/Electric . Unfortunately I only have a Basilectrik sketch here with me today since my Voltilisk sketches are literally just scribbles. I'll try my best to get a decent sketch up soon. Anyway, enough of me chatting away, onto the Fakemon! Spoiler Cheers! Oh and PS. I should probably note that Frogler's evolutions are called Faunewt and Salamaunna, and are both Grass/Fairy.
Was that a joke? Because seriously these are awesome. Are you really completely self taught? Your anatomy is on point and I love your shading styles. It looks like you do a lot of hatching/crosshatching, which I think is a very underrated technique. It adds so much detail. I especially like it in your Abra drawing. It adds a lot of depth to that one. Your fakemon designs are great too. I really like the first three, which I'm guessing are based on a komodo dragon? It's really cool.
Nope not a joke unfortunately. I really do feel that way about my art. And yep, I'm completely self taught. I live in an area with absolutely no art schools, with the closest one being a good hour and a half away. The only help I've really had are the odd online tutorial, but even then I've only read a few. I prefer to teach things to myself tbh. And yeah, I love crosshatching. By far my favourite shading technique. Learnt it about 3 years ago and have been doing it ever since. And I'm glad you like my Fakemon. The first three are based on amphibians, well, frogs and salamanders to be exact ^^
Found this oldish Fakemon sketch about a week ago. It was supposed to be a legendary for the region I'm currently working on, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or not. I do like the design though. Spoiler I also thought I'd show of some of my non-drawing art. I guess these would be classified as graphic design and photo manipulation. I've got a few patterns and a few edited photos, all done on PicsArt. The top one is my most recent. Done it last night. Spoiler
Thanks. I'm glad you like it Drew this dragon today. Took me about 2 hours in total. I'm not 100% happy with the shading, but eh. Spoiler PS. Sorry for the poor quality. I drew this on a smaller canvas.
