So, based on a recent favourable experience, the idea was proposed to have regular UNO nights. There was a game on the Discord just now where we had an 8-player game, and it was absolutely amazing the salt reached LoL levels. I did a quick sweep and the people there expressed interest to do them again. There have been UNO gatherings at a few points in the past - they don't have to be at night - but for those interested, here's how they'll work: We'll be playing the games over Uno Freak: https://play.unofreak.com/ It's a site where you can set up Uno games for free, without needing an account. Having an account is recommended (so you don't have an anonymous username), but it isn't required. If you choose to play as a guest, let us know who you are when you open up the chat window. Ideally I'd like to have these UNO gatherings about 1 or 2 times a week. There might be impromptu times galore but I want to set at least some chunks aside of regular time. I'll be the one hosting the events, to make things easy. I've used the site many times both on and off LV, so I'm generally aware of the finer details of the client. Uno Freak games will go until every person (except 1) goes out, so it's advised to stick around and watch carnage even after you go out. They're also capped at 10 players - though I don't think that should be a problem. To play a card in your hand you click on it - and it just has to match colour and/or number. If you're about to have 1 card left, you have to "Call Uno!" BEFORE playing your card - otherwise you get penalised and draw 2 cards. Also, due to how the site is set up, if you leave the room and haven't gone out yet, the room will freeze since there currently isn't a way to kick anyone mid-game. If you want to play, then play the whole way. For easy coordination, I'd like to use Discord to get everyone together and ready when the time comes. I'd announce the times on the forum itself obviously, but Discord is mostly for the coordination and making sure everyone's there and attentive. Let me know if you're interested in the idea, and if so, what times work best for you. Be sure to include your timezone as well so I can calculate; if this is to be a regular thing, I'll need to convert times into the official LV timezone (which is UTC -8). If you need help figuring out where your time zone is, you can use this: http://www.thetimenow.com/time-zone-converter.php And, of course, feel free to ask any questions. Please wait to kill each other until AFTER the game.
I'm interested! I'm in Eastern Standard Time, so three hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time (I don't know what UTC is...)
This sounds like an amazing idea. I would love to play some UNO. (it also give me a reason to use discord.)
I'd love to participate~ sadly due my dad's work schedule (or lack thereof) I can't pinpont a actual time for me.
This has to be a thing count me in. CST timezone over here for converting sake as well hahah and since the game from last night is over can i kill everyone who bullied me yet
I really enjoyed last night's game so I'd love to do this more! Nights where I can stay up later due to no school are probably the best for me, CST for time translations.
Eastern time is GMT - 5:00 (ergo, five hours behind Greenwich Meridian Time, also known as Universal Standard Time), Central is -6:00, Mountain is -7:00, and Pacific is - 8:00. Hopefully this will be helpful for those who need help with conversions. (I'm in Central time)
No, not unless it's in the game itself. UTC is the timezone used in Great Britain - it's synonymous with Greenwich Mean Time. If you need help finding where your time zone is in relation to that, you can use this link: http://www.thetimenow.com/time-zone-converter.php (I'll add that into the original post shortly as well.) I'll start figuring out some times for people, going off both the results in the poll and other times said in this thread. (Pro tip: saying you want in is great, but I'd also like a general idea of what times you can make it as well - it makes planning easier.)
oooh I love Uno anytime after like 9pm est but before 3am est on Friday and Saturday nights would be great
In that case here's my schedule: In weekdays I'm usually busy from 8 AM to 3 PM. In weekends I'm not really busy so I can play at whatever time.
Well because I didn't know I needed it earlier, I'm available from around 3 PM to 9 30 PM Monday-Thursday, 3 PM to 2 AM on Friday, all day until 2 AM on Saturday, and all day until 9 30 PM on Sunday. Also I get up at like noon on weekends. Oh wait I forgot to convert that to UTC. I'm five hours behind you so that would be 8 PM to 2 30 AM on Monday-Thursday, 8 PM to 7 AM on Friday, about 5 PM to 7 AM on Saturday, and 5 PM to 2 30 AM on Sunday.
