While I was on Youtube on Thursday, I noticed that the main LPer I watch has an LP for a game someone put him in as the protagonist. The LPer is DashieGames, and the game was called Dashie's Puhfect Perfection. THe game's creator had DK as the villain and gave Dashie attacks based off some of his LPs, namely Mario Maker, like TNT-ina and THREEP! for example. Some of the graphics seem badly drawn, but at least the animation is good. I hope the game gets finished so I can play it. Anyway, that game got me thinking, if someone made a game and put me in it as the protag, what would it be like? That's why I made this thread, so people can say what their game would be like if they were a vg protag. Since my first LP was Mario Maker and it appears my next one will be too, I think my game would be a platformer, and I would either fight with my fists and feet because I'm a martial artist, or I would fight with a sword as I seem to have an obsession with those. Not sure what the villain would be like, but maybe the game plot would be that I have to save my friends who get kidnapped at the start of the game, and then each of them would operate a different facility after being rescued. I would also have a Super Mode of sorts where my hair turns dark blue and spikey and eyes turn purple because my Mii on the Switch has those. It could either be a Limit Break or it could just come in for the Final Boss. Actually, if I had faster internet, I would just make a game, probably an RPG given what lttle I can work with, with all of my favorite LPers and have their characters all based off their LPs. It is a short list right now after all.
Oh yeah, Dashie... I like seeing his reactions (I watch reaction compilations). My game would probably be an RPG... though I probably would not be the protagonist; at best I'd be a side character that doesn't really contribute a lot to the overall story, like the non-team Social Links in the Persona games. Or maybe that one guy that runs a restaurant where one of the female characters can partake in a 'part-time' minigame and get an outfit/title/skill. Something like that.
I'm already going to be in a game... as a background cameo. (It's called TOME: Terrain Of Magical Expertise. Look it up, it's pretty flipping cool.) But in terms of stand-alone games, mine would be somewhere along the lines of an RPG/Puzzle/Adventure game. Maybe. I don't think about this stuff very often.
Actually, I know a game I would appear in if I ever finish it. If I ever finish Jack's Crazy Adventure, a platformer I had been working on, I will be the final boss, and you'll have to beat me twice in the same level to 100% the game and view the true ending. Only the first boss fight in the level will be easy. The second time... Well I can't say anything because of spoilers.
