I was working on a comic for a while and kind of lost interest, but I've regained that interest since I nearly lost my laptop (It's working again, yay!) So I'll probably start working on it again. The thing is, if I lose interest again it might take forever to actually upload, so the question is, should I upload a few pages at a time or wait for the first chapter to be done to upload the whole chapter at once? It's a lot different from writing a fanfic, I'm discovering.

Here's a preview in the form of the cover image! The comic itself will be greyscale, maybe with color occasionally, although I'm probably going to reserve color mostly for the cover images.

I'd suggest a little at a time based on your concerns about interest and motivation. It's true that a whole chapter at a time would be more satisfying to see for readers, but I would only agree on that approach if you feel you'll be motivated to keep the ball rolling. A little bit at a time as you go would mean you can upload it more often and it could possibly help boost your motivation if you're getting that upload satisfaction at short intervals. Good luck with it though, the cover looks so good!

@manaphy2 took the words right out of my mouth. As a consumer, I prefer to read a complete story segment at a time, the more complete the better. However, I understand that as the artist, long-separated releases can contribute to a loss of momentum.

Now, as much as I prefer to read large chunks at a time, I'd be happier with piecemeal updates than not updates at all. Do whatever fits your method best, since you're the most important part of your entire project.

So based on what I'm hearing so far, another sort of option would be to upload a few at a times and then update my status every time a full chapter is finished. That way people who prefer to read in longer chunks could wait for the status update while others can read as they're released and not need to wait for me to finish a whole chapter.

Yeah that feels like the best way to go about it. You could satisfy both the group who likes reading whenever there is something uploaded and those who like a whole chapter at the same time, whilst sticking to an upload schedule which suits you and your motivation levels.

I agree with @manaphy2 and @Negative Zero, of course it’s more fun to read a whole chapter all at once (kind of like binge-watching Netflix), but that would put a ton of work on your upload schedule. Your compromise plan sounds great! I love the title cover and I can’t wait to take a look at the comic when you upload :D
