Pokémon is well designed, and we (for the most part) love the games. However I'm sure we've played games that have had odd rules/controls/ect that have made it not fun for you. Here we take the chance to remake Pokémon in a way that it's horrible and unplayable. Remember, what may make a game unfun/unplayable for one person may not for another-please don't get mad at someone suggesting something that you enjoyed/didn't see as bad. Make the bag have a weight limit. In Gen 1-2 there was a item limit, but it wasn't not affected by weight. With this, you'd have to monitor how heavy your items are, and have to decide what you're taking with you. That bike that's always so handy for egg hatching? 20 pounds and takes up half of the bag's weight! That vast collection of Pokeballs is quickly making the bag too heavy to lift..! ALSO, your Party's Pokeballs are counted to the weight limit...
You need to individually feed and care for Pokémon as if they're each a Tamagotchi. Or else they die, and when do they don't disappear automatically. Instead, you need to hold a funeral for each one that you let die. That is, unless you're the type of heartless villain to just not give them a proper parting.
Pokémon evolution works by breading Pokémon, slight changes are made to each new generation based of of their parents until finally, after thousands if not millions of generations of bred Pokémon they've finally reached their evolved form.
Let's make the game a little more like how people like to think it is. Every cave is literally populated by nothing by Zubats, and every single step you encounter a Pokémon(Zubat). My brother also came up with a good one. Pokémon can't use moves out of battle if they've fainted.
I would like to introduce to you, Wolf's Guide to Broken Pokémon Games. Follow these rules when designing your Pokémon game, and your game will be taking ET Atari's place in no time! Spoiler Only one evolution stone of each type per game, meaning it's impossible to actually catch them all without trading and it will be nearly impossible to make a living dex. Unless, of course, you buy two copies of the game. All Pokémon are shiny locked and can only be obtained as shinies from events. Most of these events will never be released either. Most of the ones that are released will be Japan exclusive. The bike still exists, but you can ONLY use the bike. Hey, it's faster and not clunky at all, right? Right? Oh, you'll have to walk your bike very slowly through grass though so it doesn't get caught in your tires. You still can't use it indoors either, and also running inside is rude so you can't do that anymore. Sorry, but walking is just more polite, no chance of breaking things. The starters don't learn a same-type attack until the level after the level they evolve, and only as their first stage evolution, meaning you have to know to intentionally cancel the evolution once so it can actually learn a useful attack, and then actually remember to cancel the evolution when the time comes. HMs return and there are 15 of them now. Yes, you need all 15 on you at all times to actually progress through the game. Wild Pokémon can run away and it becomes more likely that they will the lower their health gets. When their health is high, there's a chance you can miss when throwing the Pokéball at it. The starters are the only exception to the shiny lock, but there's also an unskippable half hour cutscene between your last opportunity to save and when you can actually check if your starter is shiny. Well, at least you can still breed for them later on, right? Breeding shiny Pokémon now requires the "shiny gene" meaning that it needs to have descended from a shiny Pokémon at some point. Also there's a chance the gene won't be passed on and, since it's recessive, you won't even be able to tell if it has been passed on or not if you somehow manage to breed an event exclusive shiny. There's a low chance of getting OHKOs with any move. This, of course, means that both your Pokémon and enemy Pokémon can do it. This also means that RNG will require your enemies to get all of the OHKOs and for you to get none. It also means there's a chance your level 100 Mega Charizard X can be one shot by a level 1 Rattata with Quick Attack. Hopefully you aren't playing a Nuzlocke. There's a new ice type move with guaranteed freeze. No, there's still no limit to how long your Pokémon can be frozen. Also, it's the signature move of the new fastest Pokémon in the game. All of the 3rd evolution stages of the starters look hideous. Basically with this and #4, the geniuses who designed this game are trying to coerce you into using the first stage starters throughout the entire game. Yes, their stats are as bad as any other first stage starter. Pikachu can now be encountered on every single route. The shiny charm still exists, but you need to complete a living dex in order to get it. (See #1 for more details) Also, it's completely useless (See #2, 7, and 8 for more details) There's a chance that your character can be attacked by a Pokémon. If your character gets knocked out, it's an automatic loss regardless of how many Pokémon you had left. You will get a cute blackout message about your Pokémon protecting you and rushing you to the hospital, though. New anti-cheating measures have been put in place to prevent saving before legendary Pokémon encounters. Yes, #6, 9 and 14 still apply to battling legendaries. NPCs will laugh at you if the legendary manages to run away, although they will be sympathetic if it nearly kills you in accordance with #14. I actually have more ideas, but I feel like I had too much fun with this, so I'm gonna stop. If you actually read through this whole thing... I'm honestly kind of impressed and thank you.
Running from a battle puts the Pokémon you ran from into the overworld, to chase you down. It also gains full health when you run away from it. Oh, did I mention that the Pokémon chasing you is faster than the bike?
The Pokémon are all found at level 100 and they only give you 1-10 xp each. No rare candies, no pokeballs except premier ball. no master ball. all Pokémon have a catch rate of 3
Encountering Pokémon in the wild is as common as encountering animals in the wild in our world. Good luck catching 'em all! On that note, only being able to challenge the Elite Four and complete the game once you've caught every Pokémon...
Mākińg ēaçh route līke a Mystery Dunĝeon (PMD); You cannot sāve (ōnly qŭicksāve), stāyińg too lońg in the route will cause you to black out, and getting defēated will cause you to lose all to half of your ītems!!!
The anime is doing a fine job of ruining Pokémon as a franchise. Fight me. Berries take the amount of time equivalent to actual fruit growing. All final evolutions of the fire type starters will be fire/fighting from here on out. Your Pokémon's chances of being immobile from paralysis becomes 50%. The opposing Pokémon's chances becomes 5%. Combine the effects of the Lucky Egg and Everstone into one. A legendary or mythical Pokémon will be disobedient (like a traded one at a high level) until you have defeated the Elite Four, Champion and finished the post-game quest. This is regardless of level. All offers on the trade block in the GTS must be giving out a Pokémon of similar or higher value/caliber to what they're wanting. For example: Asking for a shiny level 100 Zapdos can only be done if they have a shiny legendary of their own from level 90-100. No more "I'm offering this level 1 Sentret and want a shiny level 100 Jirachi with perfect IV" bullshit
Confuse Ray has 100% accuracy and every turn it causes you to hit yourself. There is now an item that always wakes the user from sleep (think an infinite use Chesto Berry) Weather hazards affect Pokémon outside of battle like in PMD When there is harsh sunlight, Water-Types take damage on the field, and Ice-Types faint after being sent out. When there is rain, Fire-Types take damage on the field, and Steel types have a chance of being unable to move due to rust. In order to go into freezing cold locations, you need a jacket or parka, which costs tons of money or is the gift for completing a bunch of random side quests including 100 Living Dex entries (think Fire Red and Leaf Green) The ally system has been raised so that SOS Pokémon can call upon even more allies. People will no longer try to Battle you for money or to get through to you and you'll have to outrun them. Pokémon can become feral and try to kill your Pokémon. Newly caught Pokémon can now carry diseases and need to be treated at a Pokémon Center for a fee There is now a stronger version of Giga Drain which actually lowers your Pokémon's total health and increases theirs, however its only usable by Trainer's Pokémon.
