We've talked about tablets, so let's talk about the one thing that enables you to use a tablet: the pen! Tablet pens all differ. Some are rechargeable while others aren't. And they all have those pesky little nibs that are microscopic and I can never seem the find the dang things when I need to change them out. How well does your pen work? Have you ever changed the nib on it? Is it one that needs to be charged before use? I've personally never had a pen that needs to be charged. I didn't even know that kind existed until a few months ago! I also change my nib probably far too often. I use a lot of pressure when I draw which probably isn't the best thing. But it hasn't broken on me yet!
I use a Wacom pen. I’m not sure if it needs to be charged, as I’ve used it for 2 years now and it still works perfectly fine. I’ve never had to change anything within the pen, though the nib got slightly flatter because of the way I scribble on my drawing tablet.
if your tablet pen doesn't have a spot where a plug can go, it most likely doesn't need to be charged. i've only used wacom and the pens never need to be charged.
I've been using the same pen for... geez, about a decade now? I've never had to change out the battery or replace the nib. I don't use too much pressure, even with traditional art, so I guess that's probably why. It came with a little stand that looks like an inkwell, which is pretty aesthetically pleasing and ensures that I never lose it.
