There's a thread on here about your favorite part of drawing, now let's talk about your least favorite. What do you guys hate the most about your art process? Is it coloring, lining, or something else? I hate lining with a passion. I can never get my line weights the same which is why I tend to do lineless more often that not. Also I find it to be the most time consuming.
Also gonna go with lining. I just drew the picture, why do I need to draw it again?? Ironically, lining is sometimes the fastest step in my art process...
Getting my idea onto paper, be it sketching or lining.. I imagine the drawing a lot more detailed and colored better than what I can do at this point and it can dishearten me a times..
I hate lining a piece because I always ruin it, can't get it round enough or I go out of the line... just frustrating. With sketching, we see the best line always, when lining it ends up being so wrong and ugly.
Trying to get the anatomy right. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my art so when I can't get a leg or another part of the body right I get incredibly frustrated. Lineart can be annoying to do sometimes as well, especially if it's done with ink. At least with pencil you can erase your mistakes.
Sketching, depending on what I'm drawing. I just don't like the messiness of it. Depending on how detailed it is, sometimes I spend the majority of my time on just trying to sketch a basic concept for what I want the end result to be.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who dislikes lining. It just takes so long, and I have so much trouble making my lines smooth and consistent.
Depending on the piece, my least favourite part is either drawing the sketch or the lineart. It can be frustrating when a sketch isn't turning out the way I'd like it, and lineart is just tedious and a general pain in the butt lol.
Probably shading. I'm always worried that I'm going to mess the whole thing up by accident and I can't really erase it as well as the initial sketch.
hmm now that im thinking about it i think another thing i hate about art is actually coming up with a solid idea i can use. it takes me forever. but once i have one its usually easy
Getting started, yeah is a weird thing to hate but I have a hard time being satisfied with what I first start with even if is just a sketch is not uncommon for me to draw and erase the same line multiple times before I'm happy with it.
This for the most part. Like when I'm trying to sketch a face but one side ALWAYS looks a bit off... yeah, I actually tend to avoid doing art of humans, animals, etc. if they're not turned or looking to the side.
