I was kind of hoping that we'd get at least one or two more characters, but I'm fine with what we got. Ken and Incineroar look like they'll be nice. I'm more excited for Pirahna Plant, though.
Don't forget that Ken is in too! Piranha Plant is a really fun addition, and Incineroar was pretty predictable. I think Ken as an echo character should be fun, and there seems to be a lot of differences between him and Ryu still.
I'm loving Piranha Plant! It's (he? she? they? it?) got everything I want in a character, the long range, the flying recovery... I really think it might become my main. If I ever get to try it. Sorry, Inkling, but I wanna play as an overgrown weed in a pipe.
The Piranha Plant.... it is funny sure but I am not really... just wow. I am kinda salty that we got this before they gave Waluigi a spot in smash. Not just for the meme, but seriously, it actually shocked me since people have been asking for a long time and he is a Mario Bro too, but sure, plant.
I laughed when they revealed Incineroar, because practically EVERYONE wanted Decidueye. I mean, having an archer would be nice, but meme-owl is just a meme; Incineroar is not only a better Pokémon but more sensible as a fighter. I'm glad we also got a silly character for Ultimate. Melee had Game and Watch, Brawl had R.O.B., and 4 had Duck Hunt - all of which are fun to play - so I can reasonably expect Piranha Plant to be fun as well. ... I'm also glad Waluigi isn't in; he's nothing but a walking meme, just like a certain owl...
I'm really looking forward to playing as these two large characters, because for the most part those are the characters that I play best as. And it will be so much fun to finally have a pokémon character that (hopefully) fits my brawl fighting style.
WOOOT!!! My brother messaged me about this not long ago. First thing I woke up to actually. Incineroar is not only one of my favourite Pokémon, but one of his as well. As you can imagine we are so hyped at the moment! I was really hoping he'd get in, and I'm glad he did!
I didn't realize how badly I want Buzzwole in Smash until you brought it up. He is essential! A shiny form would be nice too.
I am super stoked we get the wrestler cat! Also, I laughed my ass off when they announced PP, but I do find it a weird choice.
I don't know what the wider opinion is, but I would have enjoyed Decidueye regardless. Spirit Shackle plus Leaf Blade could turn him into a fighter similar to Link or Pit but with some fun effects. Fully charged bow stuns the target (for long enough to maybe run up and combo) in addition to doing damage, any sword-based attack for Leaf Blade could do increased (sneak critical?) damage like Shulk's Back Slash. They could have even had fun with False Swipe, like a move with no knockback but with decent percent damage to get ready for the KO. And all that I just came up with in this one minute. He could be fun, is all I'm saying. It seems weird though that now we have Gen 1, 6, 7 starters available, with that whole gap for 2, 3, 4, 5 between (though Lucario softens that blow). Some more representation would be nice, so maybe we'll see an add-on of one of the Sinnoh starters for add-on later? We already have two Fire starters, and Torterra might not be conducive to Platformer battle, so maybe we'll get some Empoleon?
I’ll give them a chance. Yeah I was extra salty when I heard that Incineroar made it in since it’s my least favorite of the Alola starters and I wanted a fully evolved Grass starter in the game (like Decidueye) but I liked its reveal trailer. Piranha Plant was a shock and I wasn’t mad, just confused because how is it supposed to walk in a pot. Neither of them seem like bad fighters, so I’d consider playing either of them.
