I'm not asking what your all time favorite tv shows are. I'm asking what show you've recently got into, possibly haven't even finished, and yet are absolutely hooked on. What about the show drew you in, and what about it is keeping your interest? Would you recommend it to others?

For my, my newest show to watch is Good Omens. I've only see three episodes, and I already love it. My interest in the show first came because my sister suggested it to me, and because the premise sounded interesting (for those who don't know, Good Omens is basically about a demon and an angel working together to try to stop the anti-christ 11 year old child from causing the end of the world). What kept my interest though is definitely the characters. They're just so much fun. I also like the atmosphere and strange humor about the show. There's just something fun about watching a demon scream at and threaten his plants (that are all shaking in fear), because they have spots or holes in their leaves. It's just so stupid, which is what makes it fun. For those reasons, I would recommend it. However, if you're Christian and don't want to see your religion be portrayed in a controversial way, this is probably not going to be the show for you.

Good Omens was amazing! I enjoyed the short little experience of a show that it was, and loved the world it created with such a unique take on morality. I grew up in a Christian household and don't hold those beliefs anymore, but I still thoroughly enjoy the development of characters from these stories.

Well, I was hoping that "the show" for me was gonna be Stranger Things Season 3, but I was thoroughly disappointed by it, outside of Robin who's just the best. What has been "the show" for me is Rising of the Shield Hero, an awesome "fantasy video-game come to life" anime that takes so many tropes and spins them into an incredibly unique and gut-wrenching tale (I was blubbering crying during Episode 15) that is still holding my interest, because the dubs aren't all available on Funimation and I haven't come this far to watch subs right at the end. The characters are unique and dynamic, there's honestly not a whole lot of annoying "anime tropes" that get old after awhile, especially with character archetypes, and despite being a unique take on a unique concept, it's really a surprisingly grounded experience. Highly recommended, especially if you watched Konosuba and wished it had more meat on its bones, along with a single likable character.

So I watched this show on Disney called Amphibia and I love it. I love fantasy, and animated shows (really I love animation in general), and it’s also created by someone who worked on another good show on Disney, Gravity Falls. I definitely get some Gravity Falls vibes when I watch.
(Yeah I don’t have Netflix or a similar platform.)

Gonna umpteenth the Good Omens love! As a fan of the book, the best part for me was just how close the show got. Which I guess is understandable because Neil Gaiman specifically wanted it to be close (to honor Terry Pratchett and all), but still, it's probably the most faithful adaptation I've ever had the pleasure to watch.

But beyond that, really, Aziraphale and Crowley are still just. Absolutely excellent together. And I was just super delighted that Tennant and Sheen captured their chemistry so well.

Good Omens aside, tho, I've recently rediscovered Buffy the Vampire Slayer courtesy of Hulu. While a couple of the mid-series seasons (I think 5 and 6?) were the jam to my high school self, I'd never gotten a chance to watch the earliest seasons, never mind powering through the last season. (I ... kinda fell off the boat after the Dark Willow saga.) But getting a chance to sit down and watch the earliest seasons in all their cheesy, 90s glory is just a delight. All of the characters are just so deadpan, the effects are hella cheesy, and all around, it's a barrel of supernatural fun. Plus, I'm only a few episodes in, and already, I can tell that the lore is just as great as I remember it being.

I actually am a bit eccentric and weird in the fact that I very rarely watch American shows or stuff on Netflix that's made ofr mainstreamers/normies. I grew up watching a lot old and new Cantonese dramas with my mum, and when I grew into my teen years I began watching more anime and dramas in other languages -- but not English, because for me all the shows my normie friends watched on TV and Netflix were boring! I used to be obsessed with Korean language dramas at one point, but now I just watch anything with a captivating enough plot.

With that being said, recently I have become 100% emotionally invested in the mainland Chinese drama The Untamed (Chen Qing Ling), which is an adaptation of the xianxia (historical fantasy) novel Grandmaster Of Demonic Cultivation (aka Mo Dao Zu Shi). I have been an avid fan of the original novel and it's animated adaptation since January of this year, and the drama adaptation is currently doing very very well with adapting several different poignant scenes from the novel!

Would I recommend it? If you want to try a foreign historical drama with a supernatural twist (think: sorcerers, zombies, good and dark magic, with a bit of family and romance related angst), this show could be for you -- the one problem with that is its limited legal accesibility. Right now I am watching The Untamed raw on the streaming site QQLive, with amateur quality subtitles on WeTV English Youtube, and with fansubs through torrents. If you can't understand Mandarin without subtitles, I would strongly suggest Youtube or waiting for the fansub every week. Personally, even though I'm a Cantonese speaker, I've had no problems with the raw because I'm familiar with the original novel and I still know basic af Mandarin lol.

In fact, I'm finishing the second episode with fansubs right now as I edit this! I cannot wait to catch up with the rest of the new raw episodes, I believe for me I can watch up to episode 22! Hehe~

    As for other shows?

I literally am not watching anything else right now! Even in the anime department, lol.

Yeah, actually there is one that fits that description perfectly, and it's Fairy Tail~! I've watched from the first episode all the way to the current season in a span of half a year, heheh...
The kick-ass action combined with the concept of nakama and great plot makes one of the greatest anime of all time! + - That and Natsu should've been a Dragon-Demon hybrid   I really hope the anime doesn't end with the Alvarez Arc and continues on to the 100-Year Quest, because I don't really want the adventure to end!

"Do fairies have tails? More than that, do fairies even exist? No one knows for sure. This guild is like them, an eternal mystery, an eternal adventure."
