What are the oddest fruits you've ever eaten? For me the answer would be kiwi berries. Not only are they pretty much undecided on what they're supposed to be, for some reason they also sometimes have a burning feeling when eating them. Odd. A runner-up has to be these weird bright green and dark violet grapes that also for some reason taste like kiwi. I guess my conclusion is that anything that tastes like a kiwi and isn't a kiwi is odd.
For me, probably a durian. It's like a pineapple but stranger. Also tomatoes cause who even knows what they are
Tomatoes are fregs. Anyone who says otherwise is incorrect. The weirdest fruit I’ve eaten would be the gooseberry. They’re green berries that are extremely sour. I wonder if geese eat them.
Papaya is just bizarre looking on the inside with the seeds and all that, quite tasty though. Starfruit is also pretty funky.
Oh boy. I love fruit and will eat (almost) any kind of fruit. I especially love exotic fruit. Dragonfruit. Though, I'm not sure it was entirely ripe. It was flavorless and bland- not worth the $15 I paid for it. Lychee. Has a bit of a weird flavor it to but I think it's pretty good in small quantities. Bit of work peeling it though and it's hard to find where I live (Like only one store sells them fresh). Jackfruit. It tastes like a banana and A tangerine had a drunken one-night stand. It's super big and the wax is sticky, so getting the meat out is a bit of a process. I usually buy a quarter jackfruit if I'm craving it. Kumquats. I have no idea if it's a fruit or not but it's wacky because the peel is sweet but the fruit is bitter. Would eat again but I haven't seen any in my local grocery stores.
The Rambutan: AKA the most evil looking of fruit. Spoiler but surprisingly bland, though not the worst fruit I have eaten.
Luo Han Guo, also known as the monk fruit is the weirdest fruit I’ve eaten. It’s sweet, sour, and tangy all at the same time. I tried it in coffee and I highly regret that decision.
I think the strangest fruit is pomegranates, because for the most part, what you're eating is the seeds, possibly the juices, and probably nothing else...who was even the genius who realized that the seeds were pretty much the only good part of the fruit?
Probably lanzones, which are basically grapes if grapes had inedible skins. They're hella tasty, though—super sweet and really juicy, though you have to beware of the pits. (Yes, they have those too, as if the skin wasn't enough.) Still, though, ngl, I think anyone who says "durian" has us beat. I've always been curious about that one, but oh god its reputation is terrifying.
There's two! 1 -- durian. Someone else posted about durian before, the look is one thing but the smell is a whole other story 2 -- red dragonfruit! Three years ago I discovered that dragonfruit with red flesh existed - before, I had only ever eaten dragonfruit with white flesh! Red dragonfruit is extremely rare to buy in the States too, so it's always been odd to me
Some people just want to watch the world burn I once went to a house where their entire backyard was filled with exotic fruit. I can't remember what most of them were called, but there was this one fruit that was similar to an orange, but the peel was the best tasting part with the inside being incredibly bitter.
Strawberry. Strawberry may taste good but why the f*** it's seed is on the outside not inside!!! The feeling of eating a strawberry is weird to say the least
Should I be offended since all these are all common fruit in my country? Anyway for me one of the weirdest fruits are tomatos (as everyone says, how are they fruits!!?) and bananas (they taste bad with water and I hate that fact)~
off topic, but i just translated your signature and got this If it's a different language than detected, can you tell me what language it is? (Bayang didn't translate) Live the City! You have no power, Land of the sun and love! People are blessed, their pearls; Bayańg friendly, land bored
Is actually Tagalog, and "bayańg" didn't translate bc n should have no acute~ Also, don't trust Google Translate. It messes up non-European languages The real translation is: "Live long, Our Motherland! You are eternal, Land of sun and love! Blessed people, Pearl of the Orient, Oh beloved country, chosen land!"
Yeah a lot of these are common fruits I've tried. Honestly though it's fun to see all the different fruit experiences we've had.
