I take a jug of milk out of my refrigerator and I debate what to do with it. I could pour it into a glass and drink it as a beverage. I could dunk cookies into it as one would put chicken nuggets into a dipping sauce. I could pour it over cereal as sort of a broth for cold soup. I could mix it in with eggs and make it an ingredient to an omelet. So many possibilities! So... what is milk? Is it a beverage? A dipping sauce? A cold broth? An ingredient for cooking? I need answers!
The correct answer is that milk is a liquid (unless you freeze, boil or dry it). That is the only real constant here. Labels such as 'beverage' or 'sauce' refer to nothing more than our intent on how to use it. Milk could be anything we want. It could be a drink, a dip, a broth, or even a bath if you really wanted it to be (though that would be gross).
Milk is all those things and more. Milk can also be a supplement, for example. So my answer is "yes".
I legit saw the title of this thread and just stared at it in confusion for a minute. Ok, but I don’t consider it sauce or broth because I don’t use milk in those ways, I don’t eat cereal with milk and I don’t dunk cookies in milk. Also sauces tend to be a thicker consistency than milk, which is a pure liquid (unless it’s spoiled and chunky).
Milk is an acceptable thing to drink as long as it is not full-fat, which is denoted in this country by a blue cap. Full fat milk is the most vile thing on this planet outside of so-called "seafood" which is not actually food at all. Semi-skimmed milk is actually quite nice.
Mhmm in-te-res-ting.. Tbh, I mostly only consume milk when I drink tea, when I put bournvita in it and drink it, when I eat cereal or Chocos, when i.. oh, well I think that's pretty much it.
I know that milk can be any of these things, but most of the time when I have milk it's just as a drink to go with my breakfast or dessert, so that's why I classified it as a beverage.
Actually, some females in my country bathe in milk, as milk is considered to have an ability to make your skin really smooth and white.
Milk is an ingredient, nothing more, nothing less. Though I only use milk when I have to bake something, tbh.
Is milk a soap?! Even more identities! Milk can also be used for getting pepper spray out of your eyes (good to know and hope you never need to know), so perhaps it can also be an ointment, in addition to everything else!
