In the world of Ransei, it has been ten years since a young girl took on the notorious warlord Nobunaga, united what was then seventeen kingdoms, and brought peace to the region. Since then, an eighteenth kingdom was discovered--the Fairy-type kingdom of Hikari. While many welcomed the people of Hikari with open arms, a new prophecy of hope soon emerged from the kingdom--"On the day the hero and the guardian howl together with a red flute, the song will usher forth a rainbow, and a world of light." Many scholars and sages studied this new prophecy. It was understood that "the hero and the guardian" referred to the twin wolf kings that were prominent in the lore of the Hikari region--Zacian, the Hero's Sword; and Zamazenta; the Guardian Shield. The question was, what was the red flute referring to? Was it a literal instrument, or someone playing such an instrument? The answer was a master yumidou named Ash who also channeled ki through a special red flute carved from a single ruby. He made his keep as a mercenary, alongside three of his closest best friends. One night, Zacian appeared to Ash in a dream, and warned him that a shadowy dragon Pokémon named Eternatus threatened to revive Nobunaga, and destroy Ransei. The only way to stop this from occurring was to gather ten enchanted jewels hidden in well guarded temples, then use the song in his heart and the jewels' power to awaken Arceus again. Ash talked the matter over with his companions--the icy swordswoman Misty, the kaitan Brock, and the odoriko Serena, and they all agreed to seek other heroes to go with them on the long and perilous journey to help the prophecy come true... Hmmm... I'm gonna try to create a new genre of character than what I usually do~ Spoiler: Yamaguro Name: Yamaguro Akagi Age: 18 Appearance: bright white hair, tanned skin, black vest, cloak and pants, wooden sandals, covered completely in bandages (xelor-style~) Personality: quiet, observant, says what he want to say by writing or gesturing, lazy History: a disciple of Keiji, who left for his own after his master became Warlord of Yaksha. Class: Warrior Pokémon: Shedinja Pokémon Path: Arbok Weapon: machete/bolo
Excuse me, I'd like to ask something before applying here: is a character allowed to have more than one Pokémon partner? Or does it have to be only one?
@sanianisa You can have up to a full team of six. You do have to explain how your character got a Legendary if a Legendary is on that team.
Okay~ Might as well join here for a spin~ Spoiler: Natsu Name: Natsu Oyama Age: 16 y.o. Appearance: (not shown: sarashi/bandage on his chest under all of his clothings, bow and arrows on his travelling/hunting outfit) Spoiler: Everyday attire Spoiler: Travelling / hunting outfit Personality: An adventurous yet gentle boy who can be serious when the situation calls for it. Not a big fan of close combat unless it's for self-defense. Usually refers to his Pokémon partners by their Japanese names. History: Natsu and Fumiko are actually weird cases for someone born and raised at Pugilis; in Natsu's case, he can sense and utilize aura but quite mediocre at unarmed fighting. He started travelling around Ransei at 10 y.o. (3 years with Fumiko, 3 years on his own), eventually finding out that he's surprisingly good at projectile attack which later led him to be an archer. Class: Yumidou (though might be mistaken as a monk due to his everyday attire) Pokémon: Lucario (male, uh, Lucario) Junaiper (male Decidueye) Mafoxy (female Delphox) Emonga (female Emolga) Sazandra (male Hydreigon) Marilli (female Azumarill) Pokémon paths: Lucario and Decidueye Weapon: Bow and arrows for main weapon, bare hands for close range self-defense, sometimes mixed with aura in both cases More info on this boy: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ou_crv2EtG5Rl1UEoF_FUi6P6PvtJmSRM65qED6dhgw/edit?usp=sharing (in "Natsu's Bio" and "Pokémon (Natsu)" tabs)
Welp, seems like I forgot about this: Is it possible to mish-mash combine two or more Pokémon paths? Or does it have to be only one? I've been thinking about combining two paths in my character but still not sure about it.
@sanianisa It is possible to combine multiple Pokémon paths, but one should be your main. If it would help, I can post a list of the known paths, and what that path's arts are like.
@sanianisa Okay--the main five Pokémon paths are: Raikou--Pure offense; thunder based moves (but does have other elementals) Suicune--Balanced offense; exclusively water and ice based moves Gyarados--Agility based offense; water based moves (but does have other elementals) Scyther--Stealth based offense Swanna--Protection based defense; but has some offensive moves Variants of these five will often include Arbok (poison based stealth offense) and/or Infernape (agility based offense; fire based moves) Other known styles include: Pangoro--Balanced wall based offense Urshifu--Elemental offense; there are eighteen known variants, one for each Pokémon type, and variants of those variants Emboar--Pure power offense; fire based moves Tauros--Pure power Centiskorch--Fire based stealth offense Combusken--Agile power offense; fire based moves Clawncher--Holding offense; water based moves Honchkrow--Aerial stealth offense Sawsbuck--Speedy offense Arcanine--Agile speed offense; fire based moves Braviary style--Aerial offense Donphan--Power ambush Delphox--magic based power offense; fire based moves Greninja--Agile power offense; water based moves Pidgeot--Aerial speedy offense Ponyta--Agile speedy offense; fire based moves Entei--True balanced style; fire based moves Charmander--agile speedy offense; fire based moves Drapion--poison based ambish offense Swellow--pure aerial offense Toxicroak--pure poison based stealth Wartortle--water based defense (with some offensive moves) Mightyena--Dark based stealth offense By no means exhaustive or complete!
Aight then. Already edited my chara sheet. Hopefully Lucario-Decidueye mix won't be too OP for Pokémon paths.
@sanianisa Just remember that on all paths, you start with basic skills, and learn more powerful ones as the journey continues.
@sanianisa Not in the form we all know--they exist in the form of magical items called Heart Charms--which resemble heart shaped jewels (the heart's color depends on the primary type of the Pokémon inside)
The colors are basically like this, right? Spoiler: Type colors Pic source: screenshot from https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Type
@sanianisa That's about right--if a Pokémon has multiple types, the Heart Jewel will be the color of their primary type, with influences from the secondary type
@sanianisa It is easier if you focus on one character at a time. But if you can make multiple characters work, go for it!
