Attempting to replace my older than dirt Q&A thread, now's the time to ask a true blue fan of Kecleon what could possibly be going through his mind when deciding on such a random Pokémon to choose as his favorite of all time. Among other topics, of course. Get your questions in while you can, however. You don't know if I'm going to disappear again sometime soon. I'm very unreliable like that.
I imagine Kecleon is one of, if not your favorite Pokémon (I can't blame you he's pcool). What makes you like Kecleon?
Very interesting story there, but suffice to say that it was a combination of surprise factor and choosing the right game. See, many years ago, I was glued to my GBA while playing through my gifted copy of Pokémon Emerald. It was...admittedly a really bad team, with my Sceptile in the 60s while my Zigzagoon was in the 10s. But that's aside the point. I ended up making it to Fortree City, and, as anyone familiar with those games would know, I got stopped just outside of the Gym by some mysterious, invisible object. Seeing as I had exhausted literally everything else I could do at that point, I moved on to the next Route, met Steven Stone, obtained the Devon Scope, and proceeded into the tall grass. However, when I bumped into another invisible object and the Devon Scope went off, I finally saw what was blocking my path both before and now, a lively little Kecleon. Now, unlike Ruby and Sapphire, which had static sprites, Emerald was the only game that had animated sprites. And what made Kecleon objectively stand out to my young mind was its animation, which flickered between opaque and invisible before it readied itself for battle. The combination of this special way of finding the bugger and the way it entered battle was incredible to me, and I decided from that moment forward that Kecleon would be my top Pokémon, no matter what. The fact that I started playing the Mystery Dungeon games later and found that Kecleon was the most obtusely powerful Pokémon in the game only solidified this stance for me. My electric toothbrush is white, with a silver front plate. I also have a white and purple manual toothbrush on standby for whenever I forget to charge my electric toothbrush. Unfortunately no, though I do a fair bit of writing. Hopefully, I'll be able to make and share some of that here before I end up vanishing again. I know I'd really like to.
I think Abilities are the best and most unique thing that really stands out for modern Pokémon. You look at the Pokémon metagame for the first two generations, and it mostly boils down to using the Pokémon with the highest stats in order to win. With Abilities being introduced in Gen 3, it added a whole new layer of complexity to the games. You can't simply choose the highest stats and win. You also have to judge what abilities a Pokémon may or may not have, and depending on where and how you use it, you can flip and entire battle right on its head. We take it for granted now, but I still think abilities are amazing, and I love finding out about the new abilities with each new generation, and what kind of implementations in battle they can provide.
I have, as a matter of fact. However, due to my sporadic experience on LV, I'm afraid of attempting to start an RP, just to never commit and disappear while drawing out a narritive with other people depending on me. Same goes for storytelling, but to a lesser extent, as I'm less letting other people down as I am letting myself down. Maybe one day, if I can actually tell myself that I will without question be here long enough to write one of these out, I will try to. But for now, I'll leave it at that.
Anything black. The more black covering my body, the better. It really is simple yet effective, especially getting to the later hours of the day, and particularly at night.
Tricky question, since I have a lot of games that I love playing. I happen to be a diverse player, and especially when it comes to Nintendo, I've done my hardest to play any great game I possibly can. Thinking off the top of my head, Smash Bros has been a great source of entertainment, I love platforming my butt off in various Mario games like Odyssey, and Breath of the Wild is just too big not to get lost in every now and again. Not to mention the plethora of indie titles both new and old on the Switch, as well as my various consoles and handheld, as well as the occasional PC jaunt. So, to answer your question simply, there are too many good games I love playing besides Pokémon to reasonably list here. Pure adventure driven fantasy. I tend to want to lose myself in my own little fantasy world oftentimes, much to the dismay of everyone who doesn't like me daydreaming, and that's the kind of stuff I like putting down into words. There are so many influential writers that I adore in that field, such as C.S. Lewis or J.K. Rowling, and that's what drove me to writing in the first place. Typically depends on the weather and temperature, however I am the kind of person who will just drink ice-cold tap water straight from the faucet in winter. Whether that's a preference to cold drinks or just laziness on my end, I can't rightly say, so let's just assume the former.
Considering that my family actually grows asparagus, yeah, I've eaten my fair share of the stuff. Pretty good.
