In a fantastic Pokémon world far from the one we know, the earth goddess Gaia, through Arceus, commanded the nature god Pokémon Calyrex to watch over and protect the elements of nature--earth, fire, wind, water, thunder, ice, the cosmos, and light.

But even a god sometimes needs a little help--and Calyrex knew he could not protect the world alone.

So he sought out warriors--all of them well versed in their chosen fighting form. He commanded these warriors to build grand dojos all across the land, and train others to protect peace, justice, and all that was good and pure.

Hundreds upon thousands of beautiful dojos were built, and millions flocked to learn the many styles they taught. These students in turn became masters, and taught students of their own. Before long, the truly gifted warriors were traveling across the land, seeking to master new arts like those on a religious pilgrimage. But every aspiring warrior was told not to forget that their power was not for their own glory, but for the glory of the divine Pokémon, and the great goddess, Gaia.

You play an aspiring warrior as you wind their way across the land, seeking to master as much as ypu can on your long journey to meet Calyrex at the peak of Lotus Flower Mountain.

Your guides on this journey are a band of four best friends:

--Ash, who can wield the song of a bansi as well as a sword or a bow

--Misty, who wields twin blades of water and ice

--Brock, whose joie de vivre and magical song belie an expert archer and swordsman

--Serena, whose magical dance is both beautiful and deadly to the forces of evil

--Bansi (a type of sideblown flute famed in this world as the hero's instrument in the theater--it has a very recognizable shrill and piercing sound, but can play sweetly, too),

Misty:

--One handed sword
--Claw
--Blue and cyan chi (eg. water and ice magic)

Brock:

--Unarmed
--Bow
--Suji (a guitar-like instrument often played solo or to accompany singing)
--Vina (a portable harp-like instrument with a long solo tradition--only the narrator is allowed to play it in the theater)
--Voice (Brock can sing magic like a song--a talent not many have)
--One handed sword
--Rainbow chi (Brock can sing all the elements, although he started with earth)

Serena:

--Unarmed
--Ribbon (she will typically dance to battle and cast magic)
--Fan (she can also dance with a war fan or use the war fan as a boomerang)
--Nunchaku
--Bow
--One handed sword
--White and red chi (eg. light and fire magic)

This RP is set in a fantastic Pokeworld, so Unova and Shinou don't exist per se. I do have fantasy-ified versions of the locations handy, if you need them. Trainers are known as tamers in this world.
