Green Town, Town Square "Immune to dragons... that would greatly tip the scales," Dragion muttered, Mist looking at him strangely before shrugging and turning back to his other companion. "That's so cool! What moves do the fairy-types have? Wait, you're a Ninetales, right? Are there other Kantonian Pokémon that have the fairy-type too?" the Abra asked eagerly. Green Town, Guild Hall (The others are listening to Camellia and Tarina's conversation, so nothing significant happened) Green Town, 8-Poké Diner "Yeah, unfortunately," May sighed, not really getting the cue. "My idiot father and brother went on another training trip, so me and mom have to work longer today..." "I'm beginning to believe Norman just does that so he doesn't have to work," Slash remarked, making the Combusken groan. "I know right? Anyway will you take the usual?" the fire-type inquired, the mouse Pokémon nodding. "Alright, one Tamato soup and Chesto pie coming right up!" Red Town, KecleWares Seeing the Masquerain hover towards the counter the Kecleon managing the cashier, the normal-type grinned and bowed to Lance like he does to all customers. "Welcome to KecleWares! So what would you want to purchase, dear sir?" Spoiler: to the question that was asked in the other thread Yo yo yo! Ye all were asking about the PP system, which admittedly I haven't touched on much... To follow the theme I've been going with, there will be a unified PP for all moves~! (sort of like a mana bar or something?) Depending on the moves, they would consume more or less mana (which is based on PP value), and different Pokémon would have different mana values (based on age and Attack/SpAtk stats)... Also like in Mystery Dungeon, Max Elixirs and periods between missions would replenish the PP bar~ I'll be posting the specific stats in the other thread, but here be the PPs of the current major characters based on those things I said above: Kemry (Krookodile): 256 PP Dragion (Sceptile): 228 PP Lance (Masquerain): 216 PP Snowy (Ninetales): 207 PP Camellia (Alcremie): 200 PP Zack (Frogadier): 184 PP Slash (Sandslash): 181 PP Ian (Quilava): 176 PP Maou (Charmeleon): 172 PP Mist (Abra): 163 PP Tarina (Pikachu): 133 PP
Snowy nodded in agreement at Dragion's remark. "That's why we Ranseians had to wait for his downfall before building the new kingdom," she muttered, with "his" referring to Nobunaga. (Fun fact: given the RP's setting, let's just say that Nobunaga here is a Hydreigon with the same role as the Nobunaga in Conquest.) But then she had to deal with Mist's barrage of questions: "Whoa there, Mist. One at a time, please," the Ninetales sweatdropped as she felt overwhelmed by all those questions. She decided to answer the second question first. "Speaking of Kantonian Pokémon, Clefairy line are pure fairy now," Snowy started explaining. "There are also Jigglypuff and Mr. Mime lines who gain the fairy type in addition to their original types," she continued, then quietly dug up more of her memories. "If I remember correctly, Rapidash and Weezing from Galar are half fairies too, but not for those living elsewhere" she mused. "Same goes for us Ninetales, but the fairy-type ones are from Alola. So in a way, I'm basically a descendant of the ones living there." (About the fairy-type moves, Snowy won't answer right away because she feels that showing those moves would be better than explaining them. Also, I thought Camellia is an Alcremie?)
(oops sorry! gonna fix it right away! and post a small reply at the same time...) "Huh, we always thought those Pokémon just had irregular type immunities," Mist remarked, pertaining to the fairy-types that lived in Kanto.
And then something else crossed Snowy's mind. "Oh yeah, Eevee does evolve into a fairy-type too," she mused. "That Eeveelution is Sylveon, but I heard that the first case of Eevee evolving into Sylveon happened in Kalos, so..." she drifted off as her memories flew to that one time when she first met Shox the Sylveon.
"A map of Kanto, if you don't mind," said Lance. "I just arrived on a ship from the Hoenn region, so I am obviously a tad unfamiliar with the region at large. Oh, and a small bag to put it in, one with a strap so I can carry it while flying."
@Jupjami "I'm not sure I completely understand it myself..." Tarina admitted. "I do know it's different from natural move usage, where you can only use a move so many times before you need to rest.
"So it isn't like that? Hmm. I guess further study could be investigated," Camellia responded. "Is that something guilds do a lot? Are there other magic users you've heard of?"
@CandyChickenCorn "I know there are full mage's guilds, but many of them have high requirements..." Tarina sighed. "That means a humble Pikachu would be rejected."
Green Town, Town Square "Kalos, eh?" Mist remarked, looking up at the sky. "Since I was young I already knew the world was big, but I didn't think it would be so vast to have another type we didn't know about!" he said, placing his hands behind his back and sighing with a happy smile. "Hmm, wait, if you came from Ransei and your ancestors' homeland is in Alola, how did you end up in Kanto?" the Abra inquired, looking at Snowy with a questioning look the ice-type was becoming all-too-familiar with. Green Town, Guild Hall "That's true," Maou muttered, crossing his arms as he scowled. "The stupid guild back in my old town won't accept any 'mon that isn't fully evolved..." "Don't worry about that!" Kemry declared, placing his paws on the Charmeleon and Pikachu. "You're in Fairytale now, and our guild accepts anyone, no matter if they are strong or weak!" Green Town, 8-Poké Diner "Uh Norman is May's father, why?" Slash looked at Ian strangely, though he had an inkling of what was happening and smirked inwardly. Red Town, KecleWares "Right ahead, sir, please just wait a moment!" the Kecleon saluted, scuttling towards a random section deeper into the store, leaving Lance alone to look at the merchandise for a moment.
"Actually, my cousin from Ignis told me about the Fairytale guild. Dunno how he knew, but that's why I come here to Kanto," Snowy admitted. She then looked down upon remembering that awkward moment in Matte Town earlier.
"Maybe paying him a visit someday. I like May. Maybe seeing morw of her" Ian chuckled. As he took his water and slightly made it warmer. "Ah much better"
And Lance did take a look around while he waited. Most of what he spotted was basic essential items, as well as a large amount of useless baubles meant to be bought as souvenirs by travelers, which Lance thought was appropriate, considering this was a harbor town. Finally, his eyes lay across a magazine on the rack. While he didn't dare read through it, as store courtesy demands, he could see that the cover displayed a building with a sizable cast of Pokémon standing in front of it. Naturally, he recognized the building immediately. "It appears the International Guild Association has featured the Fairytale guild on the cover of its magazine again." The Masquerain thought aloud, meaning to break the silence that fell over the near empty store.
From there, Snowy's thoughts drifted off to when her aforementioned cousin told her about the Fairytale guild. "Honestly, I kinda wanna smack him if what he said about Fairytale turned out to be a lie," she mused. (Uh, guys... *pokes @WavePearl and @ChocoChicken* I don't think Jup can move on if none of you even react. ._. )
@Jupjami Tarina was snapped from her thoughts. "Uh, thanks?" she stammered, not knowing what to make of the joyful declaration.
(whoops, didn't get notifs for a hot minute) "That's good to hear," Camellia nodded. "Well, uh... what now?"
(yeah sorry for a very long reply, got distracted by a lot of stuff heheh) Green Town, Town Square "A guy from all the way there knows about our guild? Huh," Mist remarked, pleasantly surprised. Looking to the Sceptile in front of them the Abra began poking Dragion. "Hey, hey Dragion, do 'ya have an ide who it is?" Apart from one tick mark appearing on his forehead, the grass-type managed to mostly keep his cool as he replied. "Firstly, atop poking me or I swear I'm gonna find a Pokémon that knows Disable; second, it could be that guy Mia and Pallot escorted way back then; and finally, we're having lunch because between the train ride and Mist's questions my stomach's once more empty... hey, do 'ya mind having a quick meal?" Dragion asked, turning to Snowy after glaring at the sheepish psychic. Green Town, Guild Hall "Well you could stay and chat, or explore the town," Zack replied, offering some suggestions. "Though if you have recently arrived here I bet you already explored quite a bit..." he added as he shrugged his arms. "Hm... wasn't miss Tarina looking at the job board a while back?" Kemry noted as he pointed to the board which was slightly messed-up from the previous brawl. "I believe it would be a good experience for 'ya newbies to go on a simple job or two, especially with a partner," he added. Green Town, 8-Poké Diner "Well good luck with that, haha; between her being busy here and her dad always going around on some training trip, I bet she has little time for romance~" Slash replied, grinning at the Quilava as he took a sip of his own drink. "Soo anyway, are you new to these parts? I don't think I have seen 'ya before..." the ground-type asked while waiting for their order. Red Town, KecleWares "That guild, huh," the Kecleon remarked from deeper in the store. Since the place was nigh empty at the moment, the cashier's voice easily reached Lance's ears. "Feel bad for the poor chaps, ever since the incident as Sirius Island they aren't as strong as they used to be," the normal-type said. Indeed, the cover of the magazine read: Fairytale Drops Again in Ranking, Despite Guildmembers' Efforts.
@Jupjami Tarina returned to the quest board. Clearly this place had seen better days...but could they recapture those, and become the guild they were always meant to be?
Mia? Pallot? curiosity ensued on Snowy's part, but that had to wait as Dragion offered her a quick lunch. "Sure, why not?" the blue Ninetales accepted the offer. (Meanwhile, me: *poking those who haven't replied yet: @ChocoChicken @Kecleon @Tala Is Eternal*)
