Exactly what it says on the tin! If you were a Galar Gym Leader, what would your type/speciality be? What Pokémon would be on your team and would you have a Gigantamax 'mon on your team? As for me, I think I'd go for being a Dragon type gym leader! There's so many bbies to adore and my team would be as follows: Appletun (G-Max), Dracozolt, Dragapult, Dragonite and Goodra
Fairy Type Gym Leader! If it's Galar, my gym challenge would be navigating through a maze filled with mist from Misty Terrain (Pokémon on the sidelines of the field will use the move). The player cannot see in front of them, and must navigate through memory. If they run into a ralts or kirlia, it may burn one random Pokémon with will o wisp, paralyze it with Thunder Wave, heal one with heal pulse, or teleport you back to the start. You may also find trainers, who will try their best to stop you. When you navigate through, you face Manta, the Fairy Type Gym Leader! My team consists of: While I prefer to Mega evolve Gardevoir, I will settle for Dynamaxing her instead. You would get the Mist badge (or if I have to follow Galar rules, the Fairy Badge). And I would give out the TM for moonblast...if we imagine it was a tm because fairy deserves more tms.
I think I would be poison type, I love the outfit colors to start and there were some great additions to the type in Galar Going for the final team of 6 here, if I were the last gym for example: Haunter, Skuntank, Toxicroak, Galarian Weezing, Galarian Slowking, Toxtricity (Dynamax, Ace) The gym puzzle would be based around alchemy with mixing potions together to get different colors/effects.
A Psychic type with a music theme! The mission would be a glorified game of Simon--get the pattern wrong at any point, and you fight an attendant (the initial run is not terribly long--you only have to memorize eight notes--in a rematch, you would have to memorize twelve notes. The pattern would also change every time you got it wrong and fought a battle, so resetting to avoid a battle won't help you here. My lineup: Hattrem Galarian Ponyta Espeon Gardevoir (ace; Dynamax) Since (type) Badge is boring, I will assume this is my imagined Galar with jewel badge names. If you beat me, the Tourmaline Badge and a TM for Psybeam is yours.
You guys, I'm seeing a theme. First poster did dragon I responded with fairy Next is poison And now psychic? Next poster has to be someone who wants a dark, bug, or ghost gym. I ask you to make this a thing.
Tbh I actually want an ice-type gym. But since we're following a pattern here, might as well roll with bug instead. For the gym mission, challengers must climb a net wall and battle gym trainers at the checkpoint between nets. But here's the catch: there will be some Spinarak-like thingies moving vertically on the net. Touch Run into one and you'll be dropped back to the last checkpoint you've passed, so you'll need to move left and right to dodge them. Muffet battle, anyone? Spoiler: Muffet battle Speaking of battles, here's my six-mons squad: Araquanid (or Golisopod for arachnophobic version) Galvantula (or Vikavolt for arachnophobic version) Ribombee Frosmoth Centiskorch Gigantamax Orbeetle That, of course, is subject to change. If this were, say, the first or second gym, I'd say Dewpider and Dynamax Joltik would be enough. Or Snom and Dynamax Dottler in case the challenger has arachnophobia. That's why I, as the gym leader, will ask the challengers whether they have arachnophobia before starting the gym mission.
Hmmm theres clearly a pattern here. I wpuld have loved to go with Fairy but theres already a fairy leader here and theres a pattern. So I guess I'll go with Flying. The mission would be something akin to something in the Pokeleathon. One of the jump minigames where you fling your Pokémon up high to get points. Maybe it would involve you jumping on a massive tampoline and grabbing some stuff hanging by the ceiling. Maybe theres a key among them and you need that to progress to the gym battle. But theres some duds too as well as passes that make gym trainers confront you. As for the battle, this will be my squad. This is assuming I get to use 6 fully evolved Pokémon. If I were an earlier gym then feel free to deevolve the squard as you wish. Driftblimb Noivern Braviary Mantine Butterfree Gigantimax Corviknight
Fun fact that I forgot to say earlier: both the fairy and psychic gyms have Dynamax Gardevoir as their aces.
...why does it remind me of Venam's gym in Rejuvenation? I mean, I know it's a fan game, but still...
Ngl, Reborn/Rejuv do have some fun minigames (Radomus immediately comes to mind…) Anyway, let's continue the series: Steel-type bc Grass is already there… Continuin' the thing 'bout alchemy, y'know how it incorporates lots of metals and symbols of stars and stuff? T'would be a fun challenge to have the players decipher Pokémon-ified alchemical symbols (based on types or legendaries, maybe) to discover a randomised recipe for an item that ya have to give to the leader before battlin' him. Of course, the items for the recipe are given by the gym trainers, but the twist is that there are like twenty of 'em guardin' different items and ya only need to battle the ones who hold the ones ya actually need~ And finally, after all the runnin' around and burstin' yer head solvin' the puzzle here's the team yer gonna face: Ferrothorm Skarmory Perrserker Excadrill Lucario Kyodaimax Melmetal (if mythical isn't allowed then Duraludon)
I would be electric or poison type. For electric type: Vikavolt, boltund, galvantula, Manectric, Jolteon and Lanturn Yes no G-Max Pokémon, just normal Dynamaxing Manectric Puzzle: Rather than a puzzle, it will be more like a gimmick. Every turn in battle, all Pokémon on the field will be paralysis if they are not electric type, ground type, immune to paralysis or has ability volt absorb/Motor drive/lightning rod(These three ability won't activate though). Of course, if you want a real puzzle, it would be like the maze in Pokémon reborn where you infiltrate the team meteor hideout. Your pokemons take damage when you walk on incorrect tile and the damage will see the type advantage/disadvantage list and ability(volt absorb Pokémon will heal instead of taking damage). For poison type: Toxicroak, Drapion, Crobat, Toxapex, Salazzle, G-max gorbodor. Puzzle: Again, not a puzzle but a gimmick. Every turn in battle, all Pokémon on the field will be poisoned if they are not poison type, steel type, or immune to poison. Of course, if you REALLY want to, the poisoned Pokémon will become badly posioned. For the actual puzzle, it will be like the water gym in Galar, however, the main different is the water will be special. There are two types of liquid: Purple and green. For the purple, you can pass through it, but non poisoned Pokémon will be poisoned and posioned Pokémon will take damage(Again, the damage will see the type grid and ability). For the green, poisoned Pokémon will be cured of poisoning and non poisoned Pokémon will be healed 1/16 every time the player passes through the liquid. And to prevent the players to continuously pass through the same liquid to heal, the liquid will automatically change into purple if passes through more than three times. The liquid colour can be changed with switches but the will be forced pass through of the purple liquid. Forgot to mention, the gimmick will be at the end of each turn Spoiler: Tips for fighting As you can see, my gyms revolves around to be as annoying as possible. To fight the electric version, bring enough ground type and other Pokémon that immune to paralysis. You will need it. To fight the poison version, G-Slowbro/G-slowking and Nidoking/Nidoqueen are your friends. They are the only pokemons that are immune to the gimmick and the puzzle and also have STAB super effective moves against posion type. G-Slowbro/G-slowking can get 5 out of 6 of my team and the same goes for Nidoking/Nidoqueen. General tip: bring enough status healing potions as you will need it. Also, Pokémon with defog/rapid spin for the poison gym, I will spam the crap out of toxic spike.
