Now that the weakened Honedge felt the need to retreat, they used Shadow Sneak to try dragging Blacky with them. But seems like they didn't anticipate another round of Dark Pulse from the Umbreon as well as Airin's Spirit Shackle ready to shoot them down in case that failed. Should the Dark Pulse does its job, the Spirit Shackle would be aimed at Amanita instead.

Speaking of Amanita, she probably would be even more annoying without the cocoon pod that had been trapping her. Realizing this, the young spider launched a Taranza Ball alongside the icy fox's Freeze-Dry, both aimed at the bigger Pokéball-like mushroom.

Brenna, meanwhile, kept up with her Life Dew because the poison affecting Kirby, Snowy, and Evergreen were getting even worse. Thanks for that, Amanita.

And then Brenna gasped upon noticing a certain swordsman coming out of the blue. "Metanaitokyō?" [Sir Meta Knight?] her eyes went as wide as dinner plates. "Itsu koko ni kita no?" [When did you get here?]

With the battle settled, Evergreen went to check on Snowy, even though the Gardevoir herself was still badly poisoned. "Ugh... Glad that's over..."

"Yeah..." Snowy muttered in-between her short breaths. One glance at Kirby sleeping on a random pillow was enough to ease her a little. "Nothing a Rest ca--"

Snowy was about to say "Nothing a Rest can't fix," when Blacky's scream in agony cut her off. The Umbreon looked like he was having a headache (not the kind of headache he usually gets in libraries, mind you) and his eyes flickered again between their default yellow and the majū-like red. "Dunno about you, but I think he's having a bad time," the icy Ninetales mused. She didn't see Airin signing the same sentiment with Brenna nodding in agreement.

Taranza, meanwhile, just awkwardly stood (float?) there, not sure what to do around these... strange aliens he'd been battling with and against. I mean, almost everyone there were aliens to him.

 

The screaming of the not-okay-maybe-majū snapped Flamberge out of her defensive stance. Well, there was only one thing to be done about... okay, maybe smacking a stranger in the head with a sword wouldn't help, but she had to do something. "Stand back, everyone!" she yelled, placing herself between the stranger with a freakout and preparing the flat end of her blade.

Sure enough, Flamberge's warning snapped the non-majū people to attention. The gijinkas promptly ushered everyone else away from Flamberge and Blacky. That is, sans Kirby who was already sleeping somewhere safe enough and Taranza who, upon noticing that toy basket over there, started to put the toys away and place the basket near a random tent -- which so happened to be Maria's and Evergreen's.

Blacky, meanwhile, was still caught up with his pain to the point that he didn't notice what was about to hit him. Not sure about Amanita, though.

"Heh, no worries," the Puppeteer Magician replied as he put the last toy in the basket. "I'm Taranza, by the way."

"No, you don't!" Brenna snarled at Amanita's attempt to block an attack that was not even aimed at her. She then used Psychic on the bigger mushroom and attempted to maneuver it in a way that Amanita would end up launching her Venoshock to the sky instead of anyone on the land. With that, Brenna hoped that it would trigger some sort of power struggle in Amanita like the one currently happening with Blacky.

 

Well... that was quite an interesting result. Not the Psychic, but the (somewhat) backfired Venoshock. Regardless, Brenna kept up with her Psychic to try holding Amanita back from potentially attacking anyone, intended or not.

(Unlike Blacky, Amanita has a little brother (Gus) and a friend (Viridi) in this Kirby-verse. Maybe have them help shaking Nightmare's trance off from her? The end result is still up to the host, though.)

 

The redirected poison attack had only snapped Flamberge out of her pause. In a single swift motion, she smacked the flat of her sword directly to the side of Blacky's head with... hopefully not more than enough force to knock him out. "...whoops."

"Amanita, right?" Brenna whispered with the help of her Psychic. She (Brenna) might not know her (Amanita) as much as Gus and Viridi did, but she did know that like Blacky, the majū influence in her started to waver. "Please, wake up. Your friends are here for you."

And yes, the Umbreon was soon knocked out from the good ol' smack Flamberge had inflicted on him. The next question was, what should they do with the conflicted guy who had been fighting his majū influence?

Just as Maria was about to comment on Kirby's random pillow (and did she imagine a sleeping cap there?) and introduce herself to Taranza, she and Evergreen were ushered away by the gijinkas to safety. Flamberge was taking a fighting stance against the upright Umbreon, the toys were placed in their tent (which hopefully wouldn't be messed with, Evergreen thought), and Amanita was having some kind of internal struggle that seemed somewhat similar to the Umbreon's.

But everything happened too fast. Flamberge had smacked the Umbreon with the side of the sword and he was out cold. Amanita was back to her senses and Gus was watching over her. Meanwhile, Evergreen was trying to deal with the remaining poison in her body. Maria quickly went to get some food whipped up just to raise morale and to restore everyone's energy.

"Agh. If only I had Pecha berries, everyone would be back to normal," Maria said, who then started to get another round of mild-spicy curry noodles cooking. Evergreen could use some food, and perhaps Amanita and this Umbreon.

Now that every imminent threat was dealt with, Flamberge finally lowered her sword. "Is everyone okay? Don't worry about me, I can deal with this guy once he wakes up."

(Oh, yes. Blacky's curry can wait until he's actually awake. Priority bowls of it should go to Amanita, Evergreen, and Snowy for now.)

Only when Amanita was snapped back to reality (with a tearful reunion ensuing afterwards) did Brenna let her Psychic go. "I'm okay..." she answered Flamberge with her voice trailing off as she spotted Airin signing the same thing. "...and Airin too, it seems."

As for Taranza, he rushed to Snowy's side right after he dealt with the toys. "I'm fine, but don't think she is," he said to Flamberge. Like Evergreen, Snowy had been trying to shake the poison off her body. She did appreciate the arachnid wizard's gesture, though. "Thanks, uh..." she thanked him but with her voice trailing off due to a mix of the poison and her not knowing his name yet. "Taranza. From Floralia. That cocoon from before was my doing." By "that cocoon from before", he meant the one he used to trap Amanita earlier.
