Title says all, but I'm curious to see how long some of you have been either drawing or writing! Personally, I've been writing for about a year and a half, and drawing for about two or three. During these years I've made massive improvement, but I might save that topic for another thread. So how long have YOU been making great things? I'm excited to see!!
SINCE I WAS BORN, I've been thinking. I've been creating stories in my head for as long as I can remember. It was about two years ago since I started writing those stories down. Frankly I haven't done as much as some in that time but I am happy with the single story I've produced.
I want to say either 3 or 4 years...? I've been at these banner-making shenanigans for a while, long before I ever joined LV - though before then my projects were different, and I've since adopted a new style. Then, I found it a fun way to express my creativity and give me something to do when I am bored. Nowadays, I use it as a stress reliever...because it helps me have a bit of fun and gives me something to do when I'm bored. The reasons haven't changed much, but the time, subjects, and quality of my signatures have. I've reached a point where I'm quite happy with my style, so I don't expect any more radical shifts. But I like it that way - it keeps things consistent. I don't count my writing at all for this, because while I've been writing stories of some kind or another for probably over a decade, I've never really done so in a focused or professional context (it's always been for personal amusement), and the habit has dropped off in recent years anyway, so I rarely write anymore.
I've been drawing and writing since the later parts of eighth grade, basically two and a half years. My writing style has stayed fairly constant (the only changes made are perhaps a few grammar slips I didn't catch a month ago or something like that), but my art style has changed drastically. Those two and a half years felt like forever, though...
For as long as I can remember. I drew to keep myself occupied as a kid with basic cable (no cartoons except on Saturday), too young for school, and no friends. Ok reading that made me feel sad about myself..I didn't really focus on skills until I started to obtain advice in school, which was around 5-6th grade.
I came out the womb making stories. The first was the adventures of elemental ninjas DRAWN WITH CRAYONS! I started taking art and writing seriously around sixth grade. After all these years, I'm still trash.
Since forever, it feels like... but more realistically, at some point in, oh, 3rd grade was when I started having more sophisticated ideas of what to craft! I've got a concept that's been a WIP since then, actually, and it's still not anywhere close to being polished enough to be considered a finished product...
Mm this makes me wish I'd put dates on all my old traditional drawings. I first got into digital art around 2 years ago, but I made stuff very sporadically. It's only been this year that I've really gotten into making art more frequently, and I notice that I'm improving a lot quicker now that I'm spitting out art all the time.
I'd say about several years ago when I was in an Intermediate school, I've been drawing a lot of random things such as funny comic skits and general fanarts on videogame franchise. Then around my sophomore year, I stopped drawing due to being so frustrated by it and decided to write stories instead. Which I tried to do back then as well. I think that I may return back to drawing someday. I'm not sure yet. .3.
Dunno. Had Legos as a kid, and I think that's how I expressed my creativity at the time. I didn't start writing until a few years ago, though...
Heck, if I could remember I wouldn't be able to remember. I've only started considering maybe doing some writing as a hobby rather recently, but I have been drawing for ages. I'm not the best drawer, but I'm (probably) not the worst!
On and off for about...I'd say rough estimate about 10 years. Writing, on the other hand, I didn't start doing until Christmas of 2014. And then, well, the rest is history.
A very long time myself! I'd say since I was young enough to hold a pencil but that doesn't really count imo, since almost all kids like to draw/write/create when they're young. I was actively drawing and writing since I was around 11 or so, which was when I started taking it seriously and playing around with drawing programs like MS Paint and Oekaki. :}
Well, I've been writing since Pre-k and I was taught the alphabet, haha. I think I really realized writing was something I would want to do in third grade. (before then, I wanted to be a detective.) I've only got into art and graphics design recently. They require . . . a lot of work.
Um, I dunno tbh but probably since I was like 14-15 for writing. I drew when I was a wee little kid and till I was like 21 I think.
