Every hobby has a beginning point, whether it's inspiration or a sudden urge to try a new thing, it's there and I want to know what was yours. That's right. You, the person reading this. Why did you start drawing, animation, writing or whatever your art or writing profession is.

Did you see an animated movie and became curious of how it ticks? Perhaps you read a good book and wanted to try your hand at it? Or did you grow up around an artist and decided to follow in their footsteps? Whatever the reason, let us know here!

Personally for me I've tried a lot of stuff. I tried drawing because I loved seeing concept art of games and fan sketches, but decided I wasn't able to truly get into it. Writing I also tried after reading The Demonata saga and became fascinated by how Darren Shan wrote a universe from such a simple beginning point.

Anyway, again, let us know your beginnings! Who knows, perhaps you might find someone who had a similar start through the same book or art piece.

I think I started drawing because I was inspired by Pokémon fanart others had made. I really wanted to be able to do that too. But I also remember just having a lot of fun copying the official Pokémon art on paper before that, so either way it's thanks to Pokémon.

I've been drawing ever since I can remember, though I think the starting point for when I got more professional with digital artwork was when I first got my tablet around 2013. The first things I started drawing was Pokémon, naturally, for an old Nuzlocke story (don't bother looking for it, it hasn't aged well).

As one can imagine, I have improved greatly since then.

I grew up in a family of writers. My family has a deep appreciation for literature and I guess it kind of transferred over to me. I had always enjoyed reading books, too. I forgot how I found FanFiction, but when I did I was very young and I thought it was cool if I could write my own stories, so that's how the writing part happened.

I actually had a friend in middle school who drew and I thought she was so good. So I started! We even had a deviantart page together. However we had a huge falling out, but I kept up with it because it made me happy. It still does, to an extent.

Honestly I've always liked drawing but I was never good at it. Seeing people online, mainly here, be good at it made me want to try again, but actually put effort into it this time... So I went to the store, bought some markers and boom I drew stuff xD

The reason I ever started writing, was because one day, I got so bored that I decided to write about an idea i had years ago. It never really lasted long, since I lost interest.

Personally, I don't know what drew me to start writing. My Mother says that I've been trying to write since I could write, so I guess it was just my childhood thing that has become one of my hobbies. I really don't know, though.

I have been making worlds in my head since I was in elementary school. I never read due to my reading disability so I never got into books. One day though, I was so bored and I had all these ideas in my head that I just started to put them down on paper. Now I'm writing stories.

Umm, I guess you could say that Pokémon drew me to art! When I started drawing I would just sit down and redraw whatever Pokémon I saw in my Pokémon book! ^_^ Then years later I tried drawing people like they did in the anime and I've continued like that since! I still even redraw Pokémon from time to time! :D

    How did I start writing?
Believe it or not, it was because I was locked in my car. When I was in my teenage years, my mum would go around to meet a lot of people locally, and since she couldn't leave me home alone at night I would have to tag along. I was bored out of my mind, and on one such occasion I decided to just bring some paper and a pencil along to give me something to do. And so I started writing. And writing. I didn't stop until my mum came back and I hadn't even noticed how much time had passed.

I showed it to a few people on the Internet, and they said it was pretty good all said - rough around the edges, and some room for improvement with more practise, but at its base it was pretty solid. That was enough to push me to write more and get better at it. I got even better when I went off to college, and now...now I'm satisfied.

    How did you start banner-making?
This was actually due to a friend of mine I met through writing. I thought what he did was cool, and I'd request a banner from him now and again; eventually I got to the point where I wanted to make them myself so I wouldn't have to keep asking. I did, and went to him for feedback - as I did for my writing. His feedback was "It's all right, but I know you can do better."

He said that about a lot of banners I made early early on, actually (and some of my writings). And he was absolutely right, of course. That was something that pushed me to gradually get better and learn new things. And so I did - and I've reached a point where I've found my style at last. Now I make banners to relax, rather to improve, and it works.

My love for books stems from a very young age. My sister taught me to read at an early age (my dad was always away on deployment, as was often the case for anyone in the military before the collapse of the Soviet Union, and my mom was working as well in order to help make ends meet since my dad's paygrade wasn't as high as it was later on), and it just continued to grow from there. Eventually, I got into fanfiction writing as a way to cope with my depression while exploring various questions I had in my mind about stories I'd been exposed to. Admittedly my first one was pretty silly - "Who would win: Himura Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin) or Fujibayashi Sheena (Tales of Symphonia)?", and lately I haven't had as much time (or drive) as I used to have, but I am learning more things about writing while at college and hope to put them to use in the future.

I used to think a lot as a kid, and I mean a LOT. I would spend hours daydreaming about scenarios taking place and all kinds of different ways it could happen. Eventually I was tired of thinking of them in my head and losing them within hours, so I found an exercise book, and put a pencil to it. I only wrote one page, but as I added to it little by little over the years, it became something much bigger. Writing became a passion of mine around four years ago, I was in awe of the famous writers in the world and the incredible stories which stemmed from their minds. Then, I picked up that exercise book again, and fourteen books later, writing fiction is basically everything to me.

A lot of the people on one side of my family were artists, so I guess I sort of grew up with it. For writing, it was a lot more of boredom/frustration with not having more stories that I liked, so I decided I wanted to make my own.

For me, my passion for writing started with an event in which I was forced to write, but I ended up enjoying it a lot so I still write to this day! Most of my writing is fueled by a lack of content for the things I love, so it's up to me to make that content haha.

For art, I've always had ideas in my head ever since I was 7 years old and I'd draw them, but my real passion for art didn't surface until 3 or so years ago. I was drawn to drawing (haha puns maybe) because if nobody else was gonna draw my Mary Sue OCs, who else would? Since then I've been perfecting my art and have developed a solid recognizable style, and I hope to keep drawing things I love.

I have been drawing since I was very very young, and I can't quite remember what prompted me to draw. Perhaps it was the influence of cartoons, in which half the time I don't quite understand what the storyline was about.

Writing is a bit more recent, in my school days I was often so happy to choose essays about narrative writing, and I just let my imagination flow. Naturally this is also influenced by lots of cartoons, anime and even storybooks.

Drawing and writing made a big part of my life, they sort of made me feel like I didn't belong with some people I am surrounded by, but I enjoy them greatly.

FOr me it all originally started with Pokémon in the 3rd or 4th grade. I ended up drawing/writing Pokémon books. I didn't start writing again until high school. Then I wrote a bad Sonic crossover with Sherlock Holmes for English class.

For Drawing,I Remember That I Start By Drawing A Simple Drawings Around 2011 Then In 2013,I Trying To Get More Professionally But I Still Lack On Technical Until 2015 Where A Tumbler Friend Of Mine Drew Geronimo Stilton Extraordinary Well.I Asked Her How She Did It And She Answered Me With A 'How To Draw' Guide That I Learn A Technical,Guideline And I Mastered Along With Mastered To Draw Geronimo Stilton Well.In 2016 When i Become A Art Student,My Teacher Told My Class That Mostly,You Need To Draw Something Copyright In Your Own Style-I Still Remember It since That Day.

For Writing,It's From A Thought On Trying To Write A Story Based Of My Artwork And Sometime,Writing Is Also Additional Hobby Until I Realize That I Can Write Well But Need To Improve Further.

That's How Drawing And Writing Become My Top Two Choice Of Hobby.
