    The Elite Trainer Series
(A long pokémon adventure series... not as long as the anime.)

Hey there everyone! manaphy2 (or Dylan) here with my own series of books. These books have been written by me over the past eight years, beginning when I was aged eleven. A large motivation break after writing the first book gave time for improvement, with most of my writing for the series picking up only between the last two to three years. They're kind of fan fiction (the idea of pokémon and all that), but generally all the major characters are original. There is a total of fourteen books in the series all written and ready to release. I hope to do regular releases on Friday afteroons in Australia time (Thursday evenings to Friday mornings American) for you guys to have a weekend read. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this first title in the series, check out the PDF for the book.

    Series blurb:
Many know the story of Ash Ketchum, a boy striving to be the best, but what about trainers who already are at the top? Don't they have a story to tell too? Even the best of trainers still have room to grow.
Enter Wes Kail, a trainer with the skills to take on any Pokémon League and possibly claim victory. With his powerful armada of trained pokémon and skills to keep ahead of his opponents' battle strategies, what kinds of powerful trainers or pokémon will it take to pose a challenge to him? Maybe pokémon battles won't pose a problem, maybe it could take something else entirely...

    Disclaimer:
I do not claim to own the idea of pokémon, nor any of the characters not listed in the following claims
    list.
I do not claim any ownership over originality of titles which include terms relating to content in
pokémon (e.g. The Shadow of Kanto).
    Claims:
I do claim full originality of titles unrelated to pokémon (e.g. Ocean's Veins).
I also claim to own the following characters appearing in this book, all characters not listed
are owned by Gamefreak, Nintendo, or other brands:
Wes Kail, Reece Kail, Lily Gale, Lola Kail, Ron Starling, Runce Herring, Captain Seareach, the shadow, Tristan Meyers, Mia Kail, Erica Kail, Cadie Kail, Jed Kail, Astra Wardill, Brittany Meyers, Levi Nogahomi, Gin, Faith, Tara, Tobias, Sarah, Hans Böse, Pan, Chelsea, Brett, Dain, Stan, Mark, Bren, Edith, Duncan, Yen, Jana, König Böse, Nivea Mahle, Janise Rosling, Lucy Anne, Faer Böse, Quince, Vince, Noda Cadmus, Zoe Cadmus, Ian, Gigi Kail, Chloe Rose, Ophelia, Aurea, Kenneth, Penelope, Max, Tellus, Ansel, Lars, Jet, Finch, Mel, Ximon, Dan, Emelene, Atlas, Tor, Luster, Aodh, Macrocosm

    Personal Disclaimer:
This first book, all others aside, was written at age eleven. I edited it later on but kept much of the badly paced plot, unnatural sentences, and other such issues as a reminder of my skill level as a kid. The series gets much better from the next book onwards in my opinion, but I'll leave that up to you, the reader. If you can bear through this book and invest a little into the series, I promise you'll be rewarded with much more engaging story in the books further along.

    Again, thanks for reading!
Book 1: The Shadow of Kanto
    Blurb:
Wes has not long completed another of his journeys, now awaiting his next idea for a new land to explore. When his brother, Reece, has an idea for the two to have a trip together, Wes jumps on the idea, even giving himself the extra challenge of training a newly hatched pokémon instead of his lifelong partner. However, this challenge may put Wes in more danger than expected when he hears about a power beyond that of even the most powerful pokémon...

Hey all, here's my first proper semi-scheduled release, the second book in the series, Ocean's Veins Pt.1. Hope you enjoy the fresh change in the story.

    Ocean's Veins Pt.1
    Blurb:
Wes is home once again, this time with his faithful partner by his side. Content with training, Wes is surprised by the appearance of some childhood friends. At the same time, he is contacted about the formation of the Elemental League. He decides to head out on a new journey to a new region he has yet to visit. However, eyes begin to appear in the shadows, watching his movements and waiting...

This week, it's time to take a look into a land unique to the Elite Trainer Series. I present to you a land only know as the Mythic Kingdom.

    Mythic Kingdom
    Blurb:
The battles in Kalos come to a close, but when it comes to Wes, there's always a new land to travel through. Now a strange pokémon has appeared, following its trail, Wes, Runce, and a new friend find themselves on an island not just inhabited by pokémon, but owned by them. The trio soon learns that this pokémon haven is under attack by a strange force of pokémon poachers. Assuming that this is just an above average band of thugs, Wes presses deep into the island to take down the head of the faction, but he's sure to find much more trouble than what he had hoped, the thugs' leader appearing to know more about Wes than he thinks.

Writing this part of the series was... very interesting. I guess I wanted an excuse to make things extra nonsensical, I mean, a land of cake?

"...I would like to taste this special kak experience." - Greninja

    Living Dream
    Blurb:
Being a man with a taste for battle and need for adventure, it's rare to see Wes become fixated on much else. Now Wes has... a crush?! When he makes a new 'friend' Wes finds out about a strange health condition known as the Living Dream. This rare super nap disease takes over his new interest; as any man of his type would, Wes then launches himself into the very depths of the Living Dream with his partner Greninja. The two face challenges that will test their abilities and even their bond.

One must always be ready to make mistakes in life.

"Time to refresh the series with a tropical touch," was what I thought when I started book 6. As if I wanted to join in on the Alolan hype, I let the crew take their adventures to that very region. Put on some sunshades and check out the newest adventure for the team!

    Paradise Trial
    Blurb:
Wes and his friends are spending their time... playing tag? They apparently have found themselves in the middle of an adventureless crisis. It may seem that way, though the group is never one to be far from some sort of new excitement. Janise wins two tickets for a tour around the Alola Region's four islands. Once Wes catches wind, his intuition strangely draws him to the same group of islands. A fresh adventure begins for Wes which will lead him and his friends to places they never could have expected, beginning with a brand new set of eyes watching our battle strategist and old foes making their return.

Writing this instalment, I had the vision in mind to tie together more loose ends than in any of my books, and I hope you'll get to see some of that reading this weeks release. Enjoy!

    Wielder War
    Blurb:
Orb wielders, people with a power unknown to many. Not even the owners of these abilities have tapped into the secret strength of the orbs. Wes continues his journey through Alola, not knowing that the time is fast approaching in which he'll have to face something far stronger than anything he has fought. Enemies gather, along with the forces to stop them, but will the enormous evil be brought down? Only the actions of a few can decide.

After much effort trying to bring more light to many of the missing puzzle pieces starting way back in book one, I knew book eight was the beginning of the end. The second half of the series, having been written more recently, gives me a lot of satisfaction to re-read despite the nostalgia the first half of the series gives me. As my storytelling abilities have improved somewhat by this book, new interconnecting stories begin to develop as the world I've worked on increases in volume and colour. I hope you're looking forward to the continuation from Wielder War's cliff hanger as much as I did. Thanks again for reading!

    Clash of Legends
    Blurb:
One year and eight months have passed since Wes and his friends became caught in the shadow's game. Now they have developed their orb wielder abilities and gained new powers, making them strong enough to escape. On the horizon for Wes is the end of his island challenge, which means a new tournament to compete in. The tournament challenges Wes to take on many of his friends as they seek to find out which of them is the strongest, but one particular challenger begins cleaning up Wes' friends and their pokémon faster than he can comprehend. The stranger's techniques seem to confuse all of his opponents, so can Wes unravel the secret before his pokémon team gets washed out too?

Through much of my writing for this series, I wanted to encourage my readers to think about the story beyond what the books tell, and so I occasionally find ways to leave hints to something darker, deeper or a whole different side to a character. Parallel Rule has a simple statement made by a character which if you think about it too much, can change your view of them and make you wonder why it is that they act the way they do. It's even possible that a point which seems like a plot hole begins to make sense when you find the statement. Anyhow, enjoy the next chapter in Wes' adventures and have a chat to me if you work out what I'm talking about :D.

    Parallel Rule
    Blurb:
Wes celebrates with his friends after his victory in his last silver cup battle, finally bringing an end to his adventures in Alola. As usual though, a new problem appears. This time it's in the form of his friend, Wes from the alternate dimension. 'Alter-Wes' is worried about the state of his home world which has been taken over by a group known as the Tower of the Free. The Wes duo takes action and heads to that world in search of the last resistance group fighting the Tower of the Free, aiming to join up and release the organisation's grip from the world. The fight to take back humanity begins, a battle for the planet.

It's time to hit double digits with book number ten! A lot of change happened in my life during the releases of this book and the next one, so you might notice some new focuses. I feel as though this series somewhat parallel's my life, so I hope you get to see a bit of my own life developing as the characters and world do right here in the Elite Trainer Series.

    Brothers in Discovery
    Blurb:
Wes finally takes the guys on the promised 'boy's trip' they so desired. Hoping to see a new side of the world, the group heads across Unova in search of ancient ruins and hidden secrets. However, they hardly expect to find the greatest secret ever hidden underneath the surface of the Unova Region. Their adventure unknowingly sets the hands of the clock in motion, the clock which counts down to the appearance of the most powerful being in the world, and possibly, the universe.

It's time to get back to what pokémon is all about, battles. I had some feedback before writing this instalment with a request for bigger and more intense pokémon battles. I myself was thinking about what I could do to change gears back towards the core of pokémon, and here is the result.

    Top Grade
    Blurb:
The world of pokémon is full of powerful trainers, but they are scattered far across the face of the planet. It is one particular man's plan to bring together the greatest trainers from around the globe, and pit them against each other in one great tournament to rule all tournaments. Champions, the elite, and legends from the past are all invited to this one grand event. An event Wes is far from ready to take on...

Landlords, opening with the chapter title 'Deep-Fried Wes' is a book aiming to find new landscape to explore for the series. I thought it would be interesting to see the characters find a home in a town which would be unexpected for a series mostly passing through mainline Regions. It was an exciting prospect to develop a new web of relationships in anticipation for the future. I hope you'll find the new array of character an interesting bunch.

    Landlords
    Blurb:
Wes has gone missing with Gigi and Janise. Search parties keep on the lookout to find him for an entire week before he made a phone call to Noda. The world now knowing that he's safe, Wes decides to explore the new region he has arrived in, and hopefully track down the group who kidnapped him and his friends.

The series nearing it's ending, it was time for things to really go downhill for the characters, as I concluded. With Wes almost always ahead of the competition, I decided it was finally time to throw a situation at him which was well out of his expectations. Writing the second last book of the series and the last instalment, I finally challenged the characters and truly pushed them to their limits.

    Demolition Blossom
    Blurb:
Wes and Shade were victorious in their latest battle with Tellus, now returning to their friends and the real world. The price they paid for victory against their foe was steep, the entire human race and all Pokémon bearing the cost as well. The sanity of human kind is something to be treasured as Wes soon learns; power, a thing to despise. The world now relies on Wes and his friends to search for a way to take away the particle energy blanketing the globe, but to do that, they need to gather all of the enigmatic hidden across the planet. Will bringing together the most powerful beings be a good thing? What happens when the forces needed to save the world have grand schemes of their own?

Well, it's the final release for my series. Writing this series took me some time and has some of the worst writing I've done in it, which was kind of the point. This series helped my writing grow into something I not only enjoy, but have consistently improved. This last book stands as the final 'celebration' of my growth and the work I've put into The Elite Trainer Series. It was time for the grand finale, for all things to come to their grimmest before a new light shines bright (quite literally). I wanted to achieve an 'almost' complete closure, and as you'll see by the end, there's plenty of opportunity for new stories to stem from the world and wealth of characters I built. If you've read this series from start to finish, then I thank you for doing so and hope you loved the story nearly as much as I do (heavy emphasis on nearly ;)).
Moving forward, Wes' journey has only just begun and he has a lot in store. I hope you'll keep an eye out for my future projects as I, along with the characters I've met, enter a new phase of storytelling. Wes and I hope to see you in a future series!

    The World Plexus
    Blurb:
Having been brought to his knees by the powerful enigmatic of destruction Aodh, Wes needs time to recover. As he takes his time to regain energy, his friends begin to gather and prepare for the final battle. The clock ticks down to the moment the world experiences true chaos. The grand master of it all bides their time, preparing their own power to wipe out any chance Wes and his friends have of saving the planet. However, no one could be prepared for the greatest power of all to make its appearance, stronger than any being to have existed. Can the team of heroes right the chaos shrouding the world, or will the world leave the times of peace in the distant past?
